Bid on this magnum of 2020 Peter Michael "Belle Côte" Knights Valley Chardonnay (1.5L) (97JD). Jeb Dunnuck: "The aromas of the 2020 Chardonnay Belle-Côte are more herbaceous and move into bright green apple and a very pleasant smokiness. The texture is silky, with Corton-like richness, yet it has levity. Drink over the next 10 or more years." (08/2022)
Current Bid: $170.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2008 Diamond Creek "Volcanic Hill" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96W&S, 94VN, 93JS, 93WE, 91WS). Wine & Spirits: "Josiah Baldivino of Michael Mina in San Francisco noted a commonality among the Diamond Creek wines, 'a simple approach, an even keel.' What sets Volcanic Hill apart in this vintage is its energy, the elegant beauty of a rose in bloom. Smelling the wine might bring woodland fruits to mind, wild cherries and tiny fraises de bois. Tasting it, the flavors are fat with fruit yet weightless, the ripeness of the tannins creating a structure underneath the wine that keeps it tessellating into layers of detail. Phil Steinschriber, who has tended the vines and made the wine at Diamond Creek since the early 1990s, believes Volcanic Hill to be the most long-lived of the estate cabernets. It shows first-growth stature in 2008." (12/2011)
Current Bid: $455.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Abreu "Madrona Ranch" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (99VN, 97RP). Vinous: "The 2009 Madrona Ranch is dark, virile and imposing, and yet it possesses exceptional balance and class to burn. New leather, grilled herbs, menthol, licorice and spice notes abound. In some vintages, Madrona Ranch is impossibly tannic, and yet the 2009 is magnificent in its sense of poise and overall class. Vivid and finely cut, with tremendous drive, the 2009 will thrill readers lucky enough to own it. What a wine! (AG)" (06/2019)
Current Bid: $800.00

Bid on this 3 liter of 2003 Ramey "Jericho Canyon" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (3L) (94VN, 93RP). Vinous: "Good full medium ruby. Highly nuanced and wonderfully expressive nose combines blue and black fruits and smoky oak. Fat, dense and smooth in the mouth, with superripe but fresh flavors of cassis, dark chocolate, smoke and cigar box. Finishes with big, rich, mellow tannins and lingering notes of coffee and chocolate. A very satisfying 2003 with considerable early appeal but also very good aging potential. (ST)" (05/2006)
Current Bid: $326.00

Bid on this 3-bottle tasting lot; including 1-bottle of 2015 Heitz Cellar "Linda Falls Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (94JS, 94WS), 1-bottle of 2016 Heitz Cellar "Trailside Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (93RP, 93WS), and 1-bottle of 2017 Heitz Cellar Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (92WE, 91WS, 90RP). Of the 2015 Heitz Cellar "Linda Falls Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, James Suckling writes: "Character here is full of mountain fruit with blueberry, pine needle, crushed stone and conifer. Full yet not overbearing with firm and finely chewy tannins and a long and fresh finish. Spicy at the end with cloves. " (11/2021)
Current Bid: $215.00

Bid on this 3-bottle tasting lot; including 1-bottle of 2009 Williams Selyem "Precious Mountain" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (99WE, 94ST, 93JS, 91WS), 1-bottle of 2010 Williams Selyem "Precious Mountain Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (98WE), and 1-bottle of 2011 Williams Selyem "Precious Mountain Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (97WE, 93ST). Of the 2009 Williams Selyem "Precious Mountain" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir, Wine Enthusiast writes: "A stupendous Pinot Noir, this shows how beautifully this vineyard performs in the remote Sonoma Coast above Fort Ross. Williams Selyem’s last few vintages of Precious Mountain have been extraordinary, but this 2009 tops them all. The wine is as light as a feather in the mouth, modest in alcohol and delicately feminine, like pure satin. " (02/2012)
Current Bid: $225.00

Bid on this 2-bottle tasting lot; including 1-bottle of 2015 Produttori del Barbaresco "Rio Sordo" Barbaresco Riserva (96KO, 96RP, 95WS, 94DC, 92VN) and 1-bottle of 2017 Produttori del Barbaresco "Rio Sordo" Barbaresco Riserva (95RP, 95WS, 94W&S, 93VN, 93WE). Of the 2015 Produttori del Barbaresco "Rio Sordo" Barbaresco Riserva, Wine Advocate writes: "This wine usually falls somewhere in the middle of the Riserva continuum (starting with the most lithe and elegant wine and ending with the most powerful) presented by Produttori del Barbaresco in this knockout series of nine single-vineyard expressions. (ML) 96+" (07/2020)
Current Bid: $141.18

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2020 Rochioli "Big Hill" Russian River Pinot Noir (96RP). Wine Advocate: "The 2020 Pinot Noir Big Hill has a medium ruby-purple color and pure, layered scents of pomegranate, cranberry, conifer, bergamot, aniseed and iron. The medium-bodied palate is powerful and spicy, with granular tannins, bright bursts of refreshing acidity and a very long, flavor-packed finish. (EB)" (07/2022)
Starting Bid: $300.00

Bid on this bottle of 2005 Les Forts de Latour, Pauillac (94JS, 94VN, 94WS, 93RP, 92JG, 92WE). Vinous: "Open-knit yet deep and powerful, the 2005 Les Forts de Latour is striking today. The pedigree of the vintage comes through in spades. Expressive, perfumed aromatics meld into a core of supple, open-knit fruit in a mid-weight, impeccably balanced Forts de Latour. Hints of red fruit, iron, smoke and tobacco add lovely shades of nuance. Latour's President Frédéric Engerer adds that that 2005 was the easiest and most balanced growing season (including 2009 and 2010) he has seen because his team had the total flexibility of choosing when to harvest. (AG)" (07/2016)
Current Bid: $160.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2017 Shafer "One Point Five" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon (95JS, 94WE, 93JD, 93WS). James Suckling: "Fresh cassis and blueberries with crushed violets and stones, too. This is fresh and complex. The palate carries a smooth, supple and tautly refined brand of tannin and a succulently fresh core of blue plums and blueberries." (02/2020)
Current Bid: $191.00

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2020 Dr. Loosen Graacher Himmelreich Riesling Grosses Gewächs ((95-96JS), (93-95RP), 94JG). James Suckling: "So much ripeness and depth, the generous, firmly structured body married to ripe apricot fruit. Very exciting and powerful, but retains the classic Mosel brightness and shows great mineral drive at the dramatic finish." (06/2021)
Current Bid: $220.00

Bid on this bottle of 1974 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP, 100VN, 98WS, 97JD, 95JG). Vinous: "I have been fortunate to drink the 1974 Monte Bello three times in the last year. I served this bottle, from my cellar, blind to a group of hard-core Francophiles at the end of a dinner that showcased the best of Burgundy and Bordeaux. Every person in the room thought the wine was Bordeaux. No one came close to guessing California, much less identifying the age of the wine or the vintage. When the 1974 Monte Bello was revealed, there was only silence at the table. Tasted from a perfect bottle, the 1974 remains almost unnaturally deep, powerful and intense. It is an eternal wine whose life will only be determined by how well corks hold up. Put simply, the 1974 Monte Bello is one of the greatest and most singular wines I have ever tasted from any region in the world. (AG)" (07/2016)
Current Bid: $1,800.00

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2006 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis 1er Cru "Fourchaume" (93JG). John Gilman: "The 2006 Fourchaume from Domaine William Fèvre is also excellent, as it offers up a complex and classy nose of lime, grapefruit, flint, spring flowers and a touch of hay in the upper register. On the palate the wine is fullish, racy and shows a bit of the “toastiness” of the Fourchaume terroir in the mid-palate, with a huge, racy, crisp and stony backend. Another outstanding premier cru in the making here." (11/2007)
Current Bid: $184.00

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2004 Mendelson "Sleepy Hollow Vineyard" Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir. Mendelson Winery is a small, artisan winery located in Napa, renowned for its hand-crafted wines. The winery carefully sources its grapes from select California vineyards in Napa Valley, Mendocino County, and Monterey County.
Starting Bid: $160.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2015 Nickel & Nickel "John C. Sullenger Vineyard" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon (96VN, 94RP, 93JS, 91WE). Vinous: "As it often is, the Cabernet Sauvignon John C. Sullenger is one of the most complete wines in this range. Nothing in particular stands out. Expressive aromatics, silky tannins and bright, red-toned fruit are all laced together in a sublime, nuanced Cabernet that hits all the right notes. It's all finesse here. (AG)" (03/2018)
Current Bid: $145.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2013 Chappellet "Signature" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP, 93JS, 93W&S, 93WE, 91DC, 91VN, 91WS). Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Signature from Chappellet, a blend of 79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Malbec and the rest Merlot and Petit Verdot, is a stunner. Moreover, it’s a pretty realistic value for a top-notch Cabernet from California. Of course, it’s a great vintage and they’ve nailed it. Deep ruby/purple color, notes of blueberry, blackberry, with cassis, camphor and spring flowers, the wine is full-bodied, powerful (14.8% natural alcohol), layered with supple tannins and a long, long finish. (RP)" (12/2015)
Current Bid: $210.00

Bid on this bottle of 2009 Pierre Peters "Les Chétillons - Cuvée Spéciale" Brut Blanc de Blancs Champagne (95RP, 94VN, 94WS). Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Les Chétillons Cuvée Spéciale Blanc de Blancs Brut blends three plots located in the terroir of Chétillon in the Côte des Blancs Grand Cru Le Mesnil. Disgorged in November 2014, Péter's prestige cuvée offers a rich and complex, chalky and buttery nose with flavors of fresh mushrooms, honey, brittle and really ripe Chardonnay fruit. However, despite its richness, the wine indicates a great purity and elegance—and this is exactly what you get on the palate. Due to its shocking purity, this 2009 is incredibly fresh and seemingly light on the palate, but rich and complex at the same time. (SR)" (06/2016)
Current Bid: $285.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2013 Turley "Dusi Vineyard" Paso Robles Zinfandel (91VN, 91WS). Vinous: "One of the more immediate wines in this range, the 2013 Zinfandel Dusi Vineyard offers plenty of intensity and richness, with bright veins of acidity that prop up the flavors nicely and balances some of the more overt elements in the glass. The exuberance of Paso comes through nicely. Hints of tobacco, menthol and licorice add nuance to a core of sweet red stone fruits. (AG)" (10/2015)
Starting Bid: $80.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2013 Bruno Giacosa "Falletto Vigna le Rocche" Barolo (97JS, 95RP, 95WS, 91VN). James Suckling: "This is incredibly powerful and structured with so much tannin backbone and ripe fruit. Aromas of plums and hazelnuts. Full-bodied and chewy. Fabulous finish. Needs three to four years to come together. Great wine. " (01/2017)
Current Bid: $261.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2018 Domaine Jamet Côte-Rôtie ((95-97JD), 96DC, (94-96RP), (95-96VN)). Jeb Dunnuck: "I was able to taste numerous barrel samples of the 2018 Côte Rôtie, all rating between 95 and 99 points, which is a good sign! Most barrels were not destemmed and all the samples displayed inky colors, beautiful purity of fruit, classic Jamet style and complexity, and building tannins. Is this a remake of 1999? It has more upfront charm than the Côte Brune, but as with all great vintages of Jamet, 5-7 years of bottle age are rewarded.Domaine Jamet is located high up on the upper plateau above Côte Rôtie, around the village of le Vallin, and Jean-Paul and Corinne Jamet have been farming 25 different plots here, spread across 17 lieux-dits, since 1984." (12/2019)
Current Bid: $382.00

Bid on this magnum of 2018 Kinsman Eades "Anjea - Sleeping Lady Vineyard" Yountville Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (OWC - 98VN, 96RP, 95WS, 94JS) in original wood. Vinous: "The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Anjea Sleeping Lady Vineyard is a brilliant, effusive wine. Crushed flowers, red berry fruit, blood orange, spice and mint all come alive in the glass. A wine of dazzling aromatic intensity, purity and silkiness, the Anjea is majestic today. The 2018 gains volume, power and intensity with time in the glass, punctuated by bright floral notes that extend the finish effortlessly. It is an absolutely stunning wine from Nigel and Shae Kinsman. (AG)" (01/2021)
Current Bid: $480.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2015 Léoville-Las-Cases, St-Julien (99JD, 99WE, 98JS, 98RP, 98VN, 97WS, 96DC, 96JA). Wine Enthusiast: "This wine that comes mainly from a magnificent walled vineyard within sight of the Gironde estuary is structured and dense. Its tannins and firm character show its enormous aging potential. Powerful black fruits come from the 85% Cabernet Sauvignon in this rich, juicy wine. Drink from 2027. *Cellar Selection* (RV)" (04/2018)
Current Bid: $557.99

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2016 Montrose, St-Estèphe (100JA, 100JD, 100TWI, 99RP, 98DC, 98JS, 97VN, 96WS). Jeb Dunnuck: "Unquestionably one of the top 2-3 wines of the vintage, the 2016 Château Montrose is a monument in the making. Checking in as a blend of 68% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, and 7% Cabernet Franc raised in 60% new French oak (the balance was in once-used barrels) and representing a tiny 36% of the production, this deep purple-colored 2016 possesses powerful, incredibly classic Saint-Estephe notes of creme de cassis, graphite, damp earth, lead pencil shavings, and burning embers. With a powerful, full-bodied style on the palate, a huge mid-palate, lots of underlying structure and tannic grip, and perfect balance, this magical wine will need upwards of a decade or cellaring and keep for 40-50 years." (12/2019)
Current Bid: $593.99

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2019 Occidental "Cuvée Catherine - Running Fence Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (99RP, 98JD, 97VN). Wine Advocate: "The 2019 Pinot Noir Running Fence Vineyard Cuvée Catherine is magical. Singular and detailed, it unfolds slowly on the nose: iodine and seaweed give way to pomegranate, cranberry, woodsmoke, lavender and wild fennel aromas. The palate is seamless and pure, its dynamic flavors framed by powdery tannins and vibrant, lip-smacking acidity, and it has a hauntingly long finish. It will be long lived in the cellar. (EB)" (01/2025)
Current Bid: $410.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2019 Williams Selyem "Cohn Vineyard" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir (95JS). James Suckling: "A layered nose of wild berries, dried rose petals, toasted thyme and plums. Full-bodied with great salinity that really compliments the ripe black-fruit and bramble character of the palate. Silky tannins. The acidity is well balanced and driving. Earthy and savory at the finish. A very complex and well-made wine. From 50+-year-old vines. Best after 2024." (01/2022)
Current Bid: $131.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2022 Rhys "Swan Terrace" Santa Cruz Mountains Pinot Noir (98RP, 94VN). Wine Advocate: "The 2022 Pinot Noir Swan Terrace is the pinnacle of sophistication within the Rhys lineup. Fermented with 50% whole clusters, the nose here is the most three-dimensional and flashy, a fantastic combination of perfectly ripe red fruits, citrus peels, fresh herbs, tobacco leaves and turned earth that continuously evolves and transforms. In the mouth, it perfectly combines richness and weightlessness, injecting both with a twisted, coiled texture that never stops morphing across the kaleidoscopically complex palate. The finish is assertive yet measured, patiently delivered layer after layer of its profoundly muscular tannin structure. (ML)" (08/2024)
Current Bid: $153.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2022 Sine Qua Non "Distenta IV" Central Coast White Blend. Composed of 33% Chardonnay, 27% Viognier, 24% Gelber Muskateller, 12% Roussanne, and 4% Petit Manseng.
Current Bid: $390.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2016 Sylvie Esmonin Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru "Clos St-Jacques" (95JM, 94VN, 92BH). Jasper Morris: "Bright purple, reductive stemmy nose, which in youth overlays the typicity of Clos St Jacques. There is a huge weight of fruit throughout, dark raspberry, lively vibrant and long, though as ever here the winemaking style, at least in youth, dominates over the terroir. Still, a grand and enjoyable wine, and these days Sylvie's marked winemaking style is much better integrated than in the past." (09/2019)
Current Bid: $301.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2008 Carlisle "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Syrah ((93-96RP), 93ST). Wine Advocate: "From a two block parcel, the 2008 Syrah James Berry Vineyard was produced from yields of 0.7 tons of fruit per acre. It is aged in French oak (33% new), and will be bottled unfined and unfiltered. The wine boasts an inky/purple color to the rim along with extraordinary floral, blueberry and blackberry liqueur characteristics, a chalky minerality, full-bodied power, elegance, and an ethereal lightness due, no doubt, to the limestone soils. This amazing 2008 should put on weight, and drink beautifully for a decade or more. (RP)" (02/2010)
Current Bid: $90.00

Bid on this bottle of 2012 Hall "Kathryn Hall" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (97RP, 95WE, (91-93VN)). Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Kathryn Hall is largely sourced from their Sacrashe Vineyard. The color is dense ruby/purple. The wine is very young, and less evolved than many of its peers, but bursting with potential. Lots of blueberry and black raspberry fruit with a hint of mocha and background oak are all present in this full-bodied, opulent, absolutely spectacular Cabernet Sauvignon. This is a long-distance runner, although not so much because of the tannic structure, because the fruit seems younger and more primary than some of its siblings. Nevertheless, it is loaded with potential promise, and as Kathryn Hall says so frequently, 'Magic.' This full-bodied, classic Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa should hit its prime in 4-5 years and last at least two decades or more. (RP) 97+" (10/2014)
Current Bid: $120.00

Bid on this bottle of 2012 Opus One Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (98IWR, 97JA, 97JS, 96RP, 95VN, 94DC, 93WS). Int'l Wine Review: "The 2012 Opus One is a stunning release from this storied Napa Valley producer. While there is intense fruit, it is hard to describe the silky texture and plush mouthfeel, which brings you back to the glass for more decadence. This blend of 79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cabernet Franc, 6%Petit Verdot, 6% Merlot and 2% Malbec begins with seductive aromatics of black cherry, crème de cassis, mocha, tar and anise, all coming together beautifully in the glass. There are vivid flavors of crème de cassis, blackberry, mocha, sage and black olive which lead to an exceedingly long, voluptuous finish. Overall, this possesses incredible poise and elegance, showing a simply gorgeous seamless quality throughout. While this is drinking beautifully at this stage, it certainly has the potential to cellar for two more decades, or even more. (OB)" (09/2016)
Current Bid: $300.00

Bid on this 3-bottle tasting lot; including 1-bottle of 2009 St. Clement "Progeny Vineyard" Mt. Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon , 1-bottle of 2010 St. Clement "Armstrong Ranch" Diamond Mountain District Cabernet Sauvignon (91RP), and 1-bottle of 2010 St. Clement Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (91RP, 90WS). Of the 2010 St. Clement "Armstrong Ranch" Diamond Mountain District Cabernet Sauvignon, Wine Advocate writes: "The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Armstrong Ranch stands out for its balance of fruit, acidity and tannin. All the elements come together nicely in the glass. The Diamond Mountain tannins are nicely integrated. Overall, this is a fairly voluptuous, creamy Cabernet that should drink well over the medium and long term. Bright red fruit, iron and freshly cut flowers add lift to the finish. Although quite open at the outset, the 2010 closes down quickly in the glass. My impression is that it will require a few years in the cellar before showing its finest. (AG)" (12/2012)
Current Bid: $98.00

Bid on this bottle of 2017 Domaine des Grange des Pères Vin de Pays de l'Hérault.
Current Bid: $215.00

Bid on this bottle of 2013 Bevan "Wildfoote - Vixen Block" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon (97RP, 96VN, 94WS). Wine Advocate: "From a vineyard owned by Screaming Eagle’s former proprietress, Jean Phillips, the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Vixen Block Wildfoote is all Cabernet Sauvignon from clone 7, aged in equal parts new Taransaud and new Darnajou. An amazing wine, opaque purple in color, with sweet cedar wood, Christmas fruitcake, blackberry and cassis as well as some charcoal and incense, this fabulous wine is super-rich and capable of 30 years of further evolution. (RP) 97+" (10/2015)
Current Bid: $140.01

Bid on this bottle of 2016 Dana Estates "Helms Vineyard" Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon (98VN, 97JD, 97JS, 97RP). Vinous: "A truly sensational wine, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Helms Vineyard is just breathtaking. Fresh, vibrant and towering in its beauty, the 2016 possesses off-the-charts aromatic intensity, fruit vibrancy and total harmony. Sweet floral and spice notes add freshness to this plush, deeply resonant Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon. The move to pick just a bit earlier has paid off big-time in bringing out the purity of the red-toned fruit. The 2016 is simply magnificent. Wow. (AG)" (01/2020)

Of the 2012 Bedrock "Exposition One - Weill a Way Vineyard" Sonoma Valley Syrah, Wine Advocate writes: "The 2012 Proprietary Red Weill Vineyard Exposition Project Trio' is three incredible wines from Sonoma County. This is Twain-Peterson’s take on the three LaLa wines from the Guigal family in Côte-Rôtie. (RP)" (10/2015)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Giuseppe e Figlio Mascarello "Monprivato" Barolo (99KO, 97RP, 96WS, 94VN). Kerin O'Keefe: "Elegant and complex, this gorgeous wine is all about finesse, offering enticing aromas of rose petal, iris, perfumed berry, baking spice, anise and chopped aromatic herb. The structured but silky palate seamlessly melds together juicy Morello cherry, crushed raspberry, cinnamon, clove, licorice and tobacco while bright acidity and ultra-fine tannins provide the framework. It’s already tempting and impeccably balanced but will be even better in a few years." (07/2015)
Current Bid: $380.00

Of the 2008 Quilceda Creek "Palengat Vineyard" Horse Heaven Hills Bordeaux Blend, Wine Advocate writes: "The 2008 Palengat Proprietary Red Wine is made up of 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Cabernet Franc, with the balance Merlot and Petit Verdot. The fruit was sourced entirely from the Palengat Vineyard. Pain grille, pencil lead, Asian spices, incense, violets, dried herbs, black currant, and blackberry aromas compose the bouquet of this impeccably balanced offering. (JM)" (08/2011)

Of the 2012 Bond "Vecina" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend, Wine Advocate writes: "From an 11-acre vineyard sitting near Bond’s winery and the Harlan estate, the 2012 Vecina Proprietary Red is the perfect Napa version of a hypothetical blend of a La Mission Haut-Brion and Mouton-Rothschild. (RP)" (10/2015)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2013 Dalla Valle Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96TWI, 96WS, 95VN, 94DC, 94RP). Wine Spectator: "Pure and hyperfocused, with gorgeous violet, cassis and plum puree notes streaming along, laced with hints of apple wood, freshly plowed earth and iron. Long, sleek and refined through the finish, showing only hints of developing maturity, while the iron accent takes an encore. Circle back in another 10 years when this hits its peak. (JL)" (09/2023)
Current Bid: $410.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2014 Kongsgaard Napa Valley Chardonnay (97IWR, 96JS, 94RP, 94VN). Int'l Wine Review: "The 2014 Napa Valley Chardonnay is another stunning release from John Kongsgaard, which is made from Wente clones, sourced from the famous Hyde and Hudson vineyards in Carneros. Possessing a rich and golden hue, this wine opens with amazing aromatics of butterscotch, beeswax, poached pear, bananas foster and hints of nutmeg and minerals. The aromatics are absolutely intoxicating, as the bouquet is continually bringing you back for more. On the palate there is remarkable structure and weight, having an oily texture, combined with lovely acidity and bright flavors of lemon oil, white truffle, kumquat, Marzipan and crème brûlée. The range and flavor profile is spellbinding, as it enters the exceedingly long, complex finish. (OB)" (01/2017)
Current Bid: $372.00

Bid on this magnum of 2016 Domaine Hubert Lignier Morey-St-Denis "Trilogie" (1.5L) ((88-91BH), 91JG, 90DC, 90VN). Burghound: "A much more floral-infused nose offers up a variety of agreeably fresh aromas of both red and dark currant cut with an abundance of earth and underbrush wisps. The moderately robust and solidly powerful medium weight flavors deliver fine length on the rustic finale that is shaped by an evident and firm tannic spine. This won't win any awards for refinement but I like the forthright character. Some patience required. " (01/2018)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Harlan Estate Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (OWC - 99IWR, 99RP, 99VN, 98JS) in original wood. Vinous: "The 2012 Harlan Estate is bright, delicate and understated. Sweet red cherry, kirsch, mint, blood orange and mocha. Sweet red cherry, pomegranate, spice and blood orange lend vibrancy. There's terrific energy and tension from the late-ripening vintage, and a bit more oak tannin than there is these days, but all the elements are so well balanced. (AG)" (05/2024)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 Joseph Phelps "Backus" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon (96VN, 93ST). Vinous: "Espresso, mocha, cloves, violets and plums all meld together in the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Backus Vineyard. Rich, sumptuous and layered, the 2010 boasts tons of depth and pure structure. Much more expressive than the 2010 Insignia is today, the Backus is relatively open at this stage. At the same time, though, the underlying structure suggests the 2010 will drink well for many years. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Lokoya Mount Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon (OWC - 100RP, 94DC, 94VN) in original wood. Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Mt. Veeder is as compelling a Cabernet Sauvignon as one could ever hope to taste. This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from a high-elevation site boasts an inky/purple color, and smells of ink, blueberry liqueur, blackberries, black raspberries, mulberries, licorice, charcoal and camphor. With magnificent fruit richness, a layered, full-bodied mouthfeel, and incredible length, this seamlessly constructed 2012 should provide immense pleasure for 25+ years. Kudos to winemaker Chris Carpenter as he is clearly at the top of his game. (RP)" (10/2014)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2020 Sine Qua Non "Distenta II" California Grenache (99JD, 97RP, (94-96VN)). Jeb Dunnuck: "Tasted out of bottle, the 2020 Grenache Distenta II is total blockbuster stuff that's darker and richer than the 2021. Red and black fruits, white pepper, classy leather, and spicy baking chocolate-like nuances all define the aromatics, and it’s deep, full-bodied, and beautifully balanced, with gorgeous tannins and a great finish. The blend is 78% Grenache, 9% Mourvèdre, 8% Syrah, and the rest Petite Sirah (with a splash of Viognier), and it's going to knock your socks off any time over the coming 15+ years." (08/2023)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 Promontory Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (OWC - 98RP, 95VN) in original wood. Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Promontory appears to be a killer wine. It ratchets up the level of concentration, but does not reveal as much of the La Mission Haut-Brion personality as the 2009. It exhibits more creme de cassis, sweet earth, truffle, new saddle leather and background vanilla and barbecue notes. Full-bodied, rich, pure and multidimensional, this wine is a kissing cousin of the great Harlan Estate located five to six miles due north on a similar latitude in the lower Mayacamas Mountains overlooking the Oakville Corridor, whereas Promontory overlooks Yountville. This is another 25-30-year wine from the winemaking team of Harlan Estate and Bond. (RP) 98+" (10/2013)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2017 Peter Michael "Les Pavots" Knights Valley Bordeaux Blend (97VN, 95RP, 94JS, 94WS). Vinous: "Bright and energetic, with soaring aromatics, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Les Pavots is utterly captivating from the first taste. A rush of blackberry, crushed rocks, graphite, rose petal, mint, lavender and blue/purplish fruit builds in the glass. All the pedigree of Knights Valley is on display. The 2017 is 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Cabernet Franc, 14% Merlot and 7% Petit Verdot. It spent 18 months in Taransaud and Darnajou barrels. The team opted to bulk out 40% of the wine, so production is down sharply. The wine that was bottled, well, it's pretty special. (AG)" (04/2020)

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2012 Spottswoode "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP, 99JD, 98JS, 97TWI, 97VN, 95DC). Wine Advocate: "My favorite in the blind-tasted lineup extending from 2010 through 2020 was the opulent yet concentrated and impeccably structured 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon. It boasts classic scents of cherries and cassis on the nose, with touches of vanilla and wood spice adding nuance on the medium to full-bodied palate. Imbued with tremendous intensity, the supple tannins and ripe acids necessary for aging and a long, complex finish, this wine truly has it all. (JC)" (09/2022)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1983 Taylor Vintage Port (94RP). Wine Advocate: "The 1983 Vintage Port is up for a status check. It is in a pretty good place now. It's been as hard as nails over the years. Not anymore. With softened tannins and a medley of old Port flavors on the finish, this is both sensual and delicious, with velvety texture and an irresistible finish. It doesn't have that hard edge any more, but it does wake up and become more intense with some air. At least from this bottle, it comes together rather promptly and drinks well. It's lacking just a bit of firmness, but its complex flavors and general demeanor make it rather sexy. The lingering finish seals the deal. It can keep going for quite some time—it is Port and they tend not to drop off the table if well stored—but this is a nice time to dive in. (MS)" (12/2015)
