Bid on this 10-bottle lot of 2019 Joseph Faiveley Bourgogne Blanc. Domaine Faiveley combines the principles of modern winemaking methods with the time honored traditions that have been practiced for centuries within their 19th century cellars. Each terroir and each vintage, benefits from special attention, which makes the cuvées unique. Each bottle therefore becomes the faithful reflection of its terroir.
Current Bid: $230.00

Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2018 Clinet, Pomerol (99JD, 97JA, 97RP, 96JS, 95VN, 95WE). Jeb Dunnuck: "Including slightly more Cabernet Sauvignon than usual, the 2018 Château Clinet is 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon that was brought up in 75% new French oak. One of the superstars of the vintage, it has incredible elegance and finesse as well as gorgeous richness and depth. Notes of cassis and truffly dark fruits as well as tobacco, damp earth, chocolate, and lead pencil shavings emerge from the glass, and it's full-bodied, with a seamless, multi-dimensional texture, gorgeous tannins, and a great, great finish. It already offers incredible pleasure, but it won't hit maturity for another 5-7 years and should evolve for 30 years or more. This magical wine is in the same league as the 2015 and 2016, and drinking these beauties over the coming decades will be an incredible treat." (03/2021)
Current Bid: $525.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2021 Colgin "IX Estate" Napa Valley Syrah (OWC - 100JS, 99TWI, 98JD, 98RP, 97VN) in original wood. James Suckling: "Blackberry and white pepper with black tobacco and hints of iron, terra cotta and mushrooms. Medium- to full-bodied with a solid core of tannins and earthy, spicy, meaty and chocolaty undertones. Very complex and layered with a tightly wound ball of cashmere. It’s so textural, plush and gorgeous. Drinkable but better in three or four years." (01/2024)
Current Bid: $605.00

Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2018 Stone Edge Farm "Surround" Sonoma Valley Bordeaux Blend (93WS). Wine Spectator: "This sports some dark and vivid plum, boysenberry and açaí berry flavors that stretch out nicely over a cold cast iron note, while licorice, apple wood and fruitcake notes fill in liberally through the finish. Flirts with exotic and hard to resist. Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. (JM)" (07/2022)
Current Bid: $200.00

Bid on this 4-bottle tasting lot; including 3-bottles of 2013 Peter Michael "Le Caprice" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (96JS, 94DC, 94RP) and 1-bottle of 2013 Peter Michael "Le Caprice" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (96JS, 94DC, 94RP). Of the 2013 Peter Michael "Le Caprice" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir, James Suckling writes: "Unique aromas of ripe dark fruits with grilled seaweed, iodine and sea spray notes. Medium body, superfine tannins and bright acidity. Agile. Persistent finish. Stone and blue fruits. Counterintuitive wine." (06/2016)
Current Bid: $320.00

Bid on this bottle of 2019 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis Grand Cru "Les Preuses" (95BH, 95RP, 93DC, 93JM, 91VN). Wine Advocate: "The 2019 Chablis Grand Cru Les Preuses bursts from the glass with scents of orange oil, warm bread, crisp stone fruits and oyster shell. Medium to full-bodied, elegantly textural and enveloping, yields of only 23 hectoliters per hectare mean that it's immensely concentrated, with racy acids and a long, pungently intense finish. (WK)" (08/2021)
Current Bid: $82.00

Bid on this bottle of 2018 Dominio de Pingus "Pingus" Ribera del Duero (100RP, 98DC, 97JS). Wine Advocate: "I was really looking forward to the bottled version of the 2018 Pingus after a great showing of the cask sample last year. Part of the wine matured in 20, 000-liter oak casks, so it's not all barrique. This is the first time they used the vats, and based on the results, Sisseck thinks in the future Pingus will be around 50% in oak vats. The Pingus vines were planted in 1929 in two different sectors of the village of La Horra, Barroso and San Cristobal and contain some 2% other varieties. The vineyards are certified organic and biodynamic and are manicured like few vineyards in Spain. The wine is subtle and harmonious, elegant and insinuating, with all the components in very good balance. This is precise and pure; Sisseck is thorough and meticulous, and the wine shows that precision. (LG)" (06/2021)
Current Bid: $826.00

Bid on this bottle of 2018 Dominus Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (100JD, 100JS, 99RP, 98DC, 98VN, 97WS). James Suckling: "This is incredible on the nose, offering hot stones, blackcurrants, iodine and wet earth. Full-bodied with a tight center palate, then it opens with a tannin structure that is weightless and spreads across the palate. Totally integrated on the palate. This is a magic-carpet wine. Really incredible. One of the reference points for the vintage." (05/2021)
Current Bid: $310.00

Bid on this bottle of 2009 d'Yquem, Sauternes ((98-100JG), 100RP, 100TWI, (98-100WE), 98JA, 98JS, 98WS, 97DC, 97VN). Wine Advocate: "In comparison to the 2010 vintage, the 2009 d'Yquem is more concentrated with a stunning "rôti, " the consequence of noble rot in French. Developing a powerful, complex bouquet with aromas of pineapple, apricot, saffron, flowers, spices and orchard fruits, it’s dense and concentrated, full-bodied and layered with a crystalline texture complicated by notes of white truffles that reveal a racy, endless and a superb finish concluding with a pristine harmony. Readers with bottles in their cellars will have to be patient before opening this masterpiece with 155 grams of residual sugar. (YC)" (10/2023)
Current Bid: $341.00

Bid on this bottle of 1963 Fonseca Vintage Port (98WS, 96JG, 96RP, 95DC). Wine Spectator: "A grand slam. Deep ruby with a slightly red edge, intense black cherry and raspberry nose, full-bodied, with masses of fruit, full tannins and an extremely long finish. This can age indefinitely. (JS)" (01/1989)
Current Bid: $270.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2019 Boich Family "Missouri Hopper Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (95JD, 93RP, 92JS). Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper Vineyard is cut from the same cloth as the Georges III with its darker, herbal, classic style. Tobacco leaf, currants, and earthy notes define the bouquet, and it’s full-bodied and has a tighter, more compact mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and a great finish. I love its sense of elegance and purity, and it’s a gem to drink over the coming 15+. There are 328 cases produced." (05/2022)
Current Bid: $343.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2019 Canon, St-Émilion (100JA, 100TWI, 98JD, 98VN, 97DC, 97IWR, 97JS, 97RP). Jane Anson: "Château Canon has been taking off over the past few years, and here you see why. Just so much complexity, depth, power, interest in the whole thing. This buzzes with life, rises above the palate, full of gunsmoke, truffle, raspberry, blueberry, so delicious. Needs time but already showing it will be worth the wait. 45hl/h, 3.5ph, Harvest September 11 to October 4, 50% new oak. Thomas Duclos consults." (11/2021)
Current Bid: $330.00

Bid on this bottle of 2016 Lafleur, Pomerol (100DC, 100TWI, 99JD, 99JS, 98VN). Decanter: "A long way from being ready to go – I would suggest at least another six years – but it is going to be worth the wait for this wine. I’ve tasted it now on several separate occasions, and every time been blown away by its purity, succulence and precision. Blackberries, blackcurrants, liquorice, rosemary, aniseed and tight grilled tannins, all offset by violet aromatics. Serious, powerful, sets its own pace. (JA)" (04/2020)
Current Bid: $1,111.00

Bid on this bottle of 2009 Haut-Brion, Pessac-Léognan (100IWR, 100JS, 100RP, 98DC, 98JA, 98WS, 97VN, 96WE). Wine Advocate: "What a blockbuster effort! Atypically powerful, one day, the 2009 Haut-Brion may be considered to be the 21st century version of the 1959. It is an extraordinarily complex, concentrated effort made from a blend of 46% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and 14% Cabernet Franc with the highest alcohol ever achieved at this estate, 14.3%. Even richer than the perfect 1989, with similar technical numbers although slightly higher extract and alcohol, it offers up a sensational perfume of subtle burning embers, unsmoked cigar tobacco, charcoal, black raspberries, wet gravel, plums, figs and blueberries. There is so much going on in the aromatics that one almost hesitates to stop smelling it. However, when it hits the palate, it is hardly a letdown.(RP)" (02/2012)
Current Bid: $742.00

Bid on this bottle of 1990 Latour, Pauillac (100WS, 99DC, 98CK, 98JD, 98RP, 98ST, 98VN). Wine Spectator: "This is one of my favorite wines ever. Full-bodied, with layers of silky fruit and masses of currant, mineral and berry character. Amazing. It's a wine with perfect structure, perfect strength. It's 1961 Latour in modern clothes. It's hard not to drink it now. *Ranked #1 Wine of 1993, Cellar Selection* (JS)" (02/2005)
Current Bid: $875.00

Bid on this 3-bottle tasting lot; including 1-bottle of 1999 Doisy Vedrines, Barsac (375ml) (91ST), 1-bottle of 2004 Beringer "Nightingale" Napa Valley Botrytis Dessert Wine (375ml) (91ST, 90WS), and 1-bottle of 2013 Anam Cara "Nicholas Estate" Chehalem Mountains Late Harvest Gewürztraminer (375ml) (92VN). Of the 2013 Anam Cara "Nicholas Estate" Chehalem Mountains Late Harvest Gewürztraminer (375ml), Vinous writes: "(375 ml.) Deep vivid gold. Powerful aromas of orange marmalade apricot preserves honey and candied rose; a gingery nuance adds vivacity. Supple sweet and broad on entry offering intense pit fruit liqueur and honey flavors that pick up a subtle note of bitter orange pith as the wine opens up. Impressively lively for such a lush sweet wine. Finishes very long and juicy displaying building spiciness and a resonating floral note. (JR)" (01/2017)
Current Bid: $52.00

Bid on this bottle of 2018 MacDonald Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon (99JD, 98VN, 98WS). Jeb Dunnuck: "Flirting with perfection, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon from this tiny family estate shows the pure, elegant, yet concentrated style of this vintage to a T. Darker currants, cassis, olives, violets, and spring flower notes all flow to a full-bodied, concentrated, ultra-classic, flawlessly balanced Cabernet. The tannins are present yet polished, it has wonderfully integrated acidity, and is one of those wines that keeps you coming back to the glass. Count yourself lucky if you’re able to snag any bottles." (01/2021)
Current Bid: $625.00

Bid on this bottle of 2010 Montrose, St-Estèphe (100JA, 100TWI, 100VN, 98JD, 97DC, 97JS, 97RP, 97WS, 96WE, 94ST). Vinous: "The 2010 Montrose is insanely beautiful. A vivid, eternal wine, the 2010 dazzles right out of the gate with its explosive energy. Soaring floral and mineral notes are immediately captivating on the bouquet. All that carries through to the palate, where the wine is dense and expansive. Readers lucky enough to own it should be thrilled. This really benefits from aeration. What a wine! (AG)" (02/2023)
Current Bid: $245.00

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2017 Wwe. Dr. H. Thanisch (Müller-Burggraef) Bernkasteler Badstube Riesling Kabinett Mosel (92RP, 90JS). Wine Advocate: "Here comes the first bottling of the new vintage of Thanisch's most successful wine in the US: here is the 2017 Riesling Bernkasteler Badstube Kabinett (AP 04 18). Clear, fresh and flinty on the nose with bright and perfectly ripe fruit aromas, this is a gorgeously lush. light and piquant Kabinett with mouth-filling fruit and lingering salinity and piquancy. Very stimulating, indeed, and super sexy. The wine has nice grip and was bottled in February 2018 with 8.5% alcohol and more than 62 grams of residual sugar. Highly stimulating! The quantity, however, is ridiculously small, with 1, 000 boxes that will be exclusively sold in the US and in Canada. (SR)" (04/2018)
Current Bid: $84.00

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2018 Work Vineyard "Lamya's" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (92JD). Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Lamya's is a charming, medium to full-bodied, easygoing 2018 with lots of up-front blue fruit, cedary herbs, and violet aromatics as well as a silky, elegant texture, nicely integrated tannins, and wonderful purity of fruit. It's a solid step up over the 2016 and 2017 and just a classic 2018 that makes the most of the vintage. Give bottles a year or two and enjoy over the following 15 years or so." (01/2021)
Current Bid: $180.00

Bid on this 2-magnum lot of 2015 Pride Mountain Napa-Sonoma Counties Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L). From NapaWineProject.com: Pride Mountain Vineyards is located high on the spine of the Mayacamas mountains, the geographical boundary between Napa and Sonoma Counties. The winery is about half way between eastern Santa Rosa (the largest city in Sonoma County) and the town of St. Helena in the Napa Valley. In fact half of their winery is in Sonoma County including their tasting room, and the other half is in Napa County; their vineyards grow in both counties with approximately 60% of their land in Sonoma County and 40% in Napa County. A row of bricks in the concrete between the tasting room and the winery visually identifies the county line. Wines that contain grapes from both Sonoma and Napa County are labeled with the percentages of each; as they say at Pride, 'one ranch, two counties.
Current Bid: $165.00

Bid on this bottle of 1990 Mouton Rothschild, Pauillac (94ST, 94VN, 91DC). Vinous: "(81% cabernet sauvignon, 10% cabernet franc, and 9% merlot; pH 3.69; IPT 60; 12.2% alcohol; 76% new oak; a 79% selection): Bright red with a pale rim. Knockout nose of aromatic herbs, strawberry, sweet spices and acacia flower; yet another wine strongly marked by its cabernet franc presence. Fresh and vibrant, this absolutely dances on the palate with strawberry, sour red cherry and raspberry flavors complicated by gunflint and herbs. High acidity provides great clarity and cut to the long, floral, smoothly tannic finish. This has improved considerably with bottle age. Harvested from September 18 through October 3, this Mouton offers amazing balance and fragrance. (ID)" (08/2011)
Current Bid: $370.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2019 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (99JS, 98DC, 98VN, 97RP, 95JD, 95WE, 95WS). James Suckling: "This is a very powerful Monte Bello with currants and blackberry, black licorice and smoked meat. Mint. Some sesame seed, too. It's full-bodied with incredible darkness and saltiness like volcanic salt. Umami. Grilled seaweed. Flavorful and captivating. It goes on for minutes. " (09/2022)
Current Bid: $480.00

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2019 Stone Edge Farm "Surround" Sonoma Valley Bordeaux Blend (90JD). Jeb Dunnuck: "A saturated inky black, the 2019 Surround has the addition of 18% Cabernet Franc and was raised in 100% new 225-liter French oak barrels. Ripe and rounded, it opens to notes of blackberry preserve, vanilla bean, tobacco, and mocha. Full-bodied, with bright, angular acidity, the palate reveals dusty tannins and a snappy feel, with a clean though somewhat more modest finish compared to the rest of the range. It’s in a great place for drinking over the next several years. (AF)" (11/2023)
Starting Bid: $210.00

Bid on this bottle of 2018 Palmer, Margaux (100JA, 100VN, 99JD, 99WE, 98JS, 98WS, 97TWI). Vinous: "The 2018 Palmer is a legend in the making. I had an inkling out of barrel, but such was its intensity that I wanted to assess it in bottle before I felt confident in saying so, because this could have gone either way. It storms from the glass with black fruit and floral scents, crushed violet and incense that knock your senses sideways while retaining brilliant delineation and focus. The palate is not quite as bold and brassy as when I tasted it from barrel, though I can vouchsafe that among over 20 vintages of Palmer that I have tasted at this stage, this is easily the most extroverted and powerful, displaying a kind of millefeuille of intense black fruit counterpoised by a razor-sharp line of acidity. (NM)" (03/2021)
Current Bid: $345.00

Bid on this 3-bottle tasting lot; including 1-bottle of 1998 Domaine Paul Autard Châteauneuf-du-Pape (90ST), 1-bottle of 1999 E. Guigal Châteauneuf-du-Pape (93WS, 90RP), and 1-bottle of 2007 Domaine du Grand Tinel "Alexis Establet" Châteauneuf-du Pape (94RP, 92VN, 92WS). Of the 2007 Domaine du Grand Tinel "Alexis Establet" Châteauneuf-du Pape, Wine Advocate writes: "I loved the 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Alexis Establet, and this 100% old vine Grenache beauty gives up classic notes of roasted herbs, black licorice, loads of sweet Grenache fruit and that savory, meaty characteristic reminiscent of caramelized pan drippings. Full-bodied, layered and decadent, with sweet tannin and no hard edges, it’s beautiful today but will keep for another decade or more. (JD)" (02/2017)
Current Bid: $116.00

Bid on this bottle of 2007 Pétrus, Pomerol (OWC - 94JS, 92VN, 92WS, 91RP) in original wood. James Suckling: "This Petrus is solid for the vintage with bright and pretty fruit. It’s full-bodied, with chewy tannins and a berry, Indian spice, and cinnamon character. Long and intense. Better than most may believe. Still needs some time but who can wait?" (10/2012)
Current Bid: $2,100.00

Bid on this bottle of 2017 Sine Qua Non "The Hated Hunter" California Syrah (100JD, 98RP, 96VN). Jeb Dunnuck: "Named after Manfred’s grandfather, the 2017 Syrah The Hated Hunter is 82.4% Syrah, 7.8% Petite Sirah, 5.2% Mourvèdre, 2% Grenache, and the rest a mix of white varieties that spent just over 23 months in 59% new French oak. A classic 2017, it has an incredible nose of spice red and black fruits, ground pepper, dried flowers, and sandalwood. With full-bodied richness, no hard edges, gorgeous purity of fruit, and a finish that won't quit, it has everything you could want from a bottle of wine. " (08/2020)
Current Bid: $205.01

Bid on this bottle of 1967 Quinta do Noval "Nacional" Vintage Port (96JG, 96JS, 95WS, 93VN). James Suckling: "This is very rich and linear with dried berries, salted caramel as well as raisins and sultanas. Some honey. Medium- to full-bodied, very sweet and rich. Bark, earth and spice. Drink or hold." (01/2023)
Starting Bid: $600.00

Bid on this bottle of 2015 Mayacamas Mt. Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon (97IWR, 97VN, 96WS, 95DC, 94JS). Vinous: "Another stellar wine from Mayacamas, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon continues to be quite reticent, which is probably a very good thing for its long-term prospects. Even so, the 2015 is dense, powerful and super-concentrated, with a level of finesse in its tannins that separates it from so many wines in this challenging vintage. Time in the glass brings out graphite, menthol, licorice, sage and spice notes that add a sense of gravitas. I would prefer to cellar the 2015 for at least a few years to allow some of the baby fat to melt away. I expect the 2015 will always remain an exotic, full-throttle wine relative to the norm here. I can't wait to see how it ages. (AG) 97+" (12/2018)
Current Bid: $136.00

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2003 Le Macchiole Toscana (90RP). Wine Advocate: "The 2003 Le Macchiole (70% Sangiovese, 20% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc) is irresistibly plump and full of flavor, with suggestions of dark fruit, spices and menthol, and a sleek stylish personality. Beautifully proportioned, the Sangiovese seems to give the wine outstanding freshness considering the vintage. Already open and delicious, it should continue to offer enjoyable drinking over the next five to seven years, perhaps longer. 2003 is the last vintage for this wine as Merli has decided to make an entry-level wine which is fresher and more accessible as opposed to the Macchiole bottling, which was essentially a second selection of the estate's less important barrels. (AG)" (02/2007)
Starting Bid: $75.00

Bid on this bottle of 1969 Beaulieu Vineyard "Georges de Latour Private Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (94RP, 92VN). Wine Advocate: "1969 was the last year when the winery was still owned by the de Latour family. It was a relatively cool vintage, offering wines of great purity. Medium to deep brick-brown, the 1969 Cabernet Sauvignon Private Reserve Georges de Latour struts sternly out of the glass with notions of cedar chest, spice box, baked plums, dried mulberries, dried flowers, aniseed, dark chocolate, camphor and old chesterfield leading to hints of espresso, woodsmoke and charcuterie plus a touch of truffles. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is softly spoken and profound with layers of mineral and earth notions plus a smoky undercurrent, finishing with a dried herbs lift. (LPB)" (05/2019)
Current Bid: $343.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2013 G.B. Burlotto "Monvigliero" Barolo (100VN, 99DC, 98WE, 97RP, 96JD, 96WS, 95JG). Vinous: "Burlotto’s 2013 Barolo Monvigliero is a wine I like to serve at dinners like this one, as I know most people may never taste it, which is a shame. Of course, the 2013 is young, but its profound greatness is evident in the early going, The interplay of aromatics, fruit and structure really brings out the stunning beauty of the Monvigliero cru. The 2013 is simply a phenomenal wine and a towering achievement from Fabio Alessandria. (AG)" (11/2019)
Starting Bid: $1,080.00

Bid on this bottle of 2006 Bodegas J.C. Conde "Neo Punta Esencia" Ribera del Duero (93RP, 93VN). Vinous: "Glass-staining violet. Intensely perfumed bouquet of dark berries, cherry pit, licorice, Indian spices and minerals. Sappy blackberry and cassis flavors are brightened by tangy minerals and pick up an exotic note of candied flowers with air. Very rich but lively wine with excellent finishing lift and tangy precision. Give it another three to five years in the cellar before pulling the cork. (JR)" (07/2009)
Starting Bid: $60.00

Bid on this bottle of 2010 Haut-Brion, Pessac-Léognan (100JA, 100JD, 99RP, 99WS, 98DC, 98ST, 98WE, 97JS, 97VN). Jeb Dunnuck: "Pure perfection and one of truly legendary wines out there, the 2010 is 57% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Merlot, and the balance Cabernet Franc that hit a whopping 14.6% natural alcohol, with a healthy pH of 3.7. This deep rich, opulent beauty is just now at the early stages of its prime drink window and has an incredible array of blackcurrants, chocolate, truffly earth, graphite, and hints of tobacco. A massive wine in every sense, it still somehow stays weightless and graceful, with silky, building tannins, flawless balance, and just everything in the right place. It needs an hour or two in a decanter if drinking any time soon, and it's going to have upwards of 75-100 years of ultimate longevity." (11/2021)
Current Bid: $742.00

Bid on this bottle of 2009 Shafer "Hillside Select" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon ((97-98JS), 98RP, 98VN, 97WE, 96WS, 95CG). Vinous: "Shafer's 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Hillside Select is all high notes. Sweet red plum and cherry notes meld into mint, spice and new leather, all supported by silky, polished tannins that add finesse to the plush fruit. Rich, opulent and beautifully textured throughout, the 2009 is going to provide fabulous, viscerally thrilling drinking pretty much right out of the gate. This is a great Hillside Select. Frankly, I can't imagine anyone who enjoys Hillside Select not wanting the 2009 in their cellar. The persistent, resonant finish is pure sensuality. (AG)" (11/2013)
Current Bid: $221.00

Bid on this bottle of 2009 Ca' du Rabajà (Lorenzo Alutto) "Rabaja" Barbaresco. Wine Spectator: "A lean and tightly wound version, displaying white pepper, cherry, cranberry and underbrush flavors. Turns dry on the finish, but leaves a mouthwatering impression. Best from 2015 through 2027. (Web-2013)"
Current Bid: $37.00

Bid on this bottle of 2013 Canalicchio Brunello di Montalcino (94JS, 93VN, 91DC). James Suckling: "Dried cherry, cedar and mushroom. Orange peel, too. Full body, silky tannins and a long and persistent finish. Layers of fruit. An impressive young Brunello. " (09/2017)
Starting Bid: $60.00

Bid on this bottle of 2015 Domaine Gilles Barge "Cuvée Du Plessy" Côte-Rôtie (93JG, 93WS). Wine Spectator: "Dark in profile, with gently steeped black currant and black cherry fruit carried by a solid graphite edge, picking up alder, bay leaf and tobacco details along the way. Reveals a smoldering cast iron hint on the finish. (JM)" (10/2018)
Current Bid: $50.00

Bid on this 12-bottle lot of 2018 Moulin de la Gardette "Tradition" Gigondas (94DC, (91-93RP), 91JD). Decanter: "This is exuberantly fruity, ripe and vividly aromatic full of strawberry and raspberry fruit. The acidity is perky and bright and this has real lift and freshness. So approachable and drinkable - very well balanced with great tannic finesse and no excess. Made with 45-year-old Grenache, with Syrah and Mourvèdre. Grown on clay limestone and marl, handpicked, no destemming, aged in old foudres. Organic. (MW)" (09/2019)
Current Bid: $240.00

Bid on this bottle of 2008 Ferrando Carema Black Label (Etichetta Nera) Nebbiolo (93WS). Wine Spectator: "Inviting aromas and flavors of licorice, leather, camphor and sweet dried cherry are the hallmarks of this savory, harmonious red. Washes over the palate, with warmth and richness belying the pale color and light weight. Offers a fine finish of saline minerality, revealing vestiges of sweet cherry. Nebbiolo. (BS)" (10/2016)
Current Bid: $67.00

Bid on this bottle of 2007 Domaine Marc Sorrel "Le Gréal" Hermitage (92ST, 92WS). Wine Spectator: "Offers a mix of mulled red and black currant fruit, along with black tea, bramble and a dash of tarry grip on the finish. Shows solid length for the vintage." (02/2010)

Bid on this magnum of 2019 Schrader "Old Sparky" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (100JD, 100RP, 99JS, 98DC). Wine Advocate: "A best-barrel selection made by Thomas Rivers Brown and bottled in magnums, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Old Sparky Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard is truly great stuff. Full-bodied, rich, velvety and all-enveloping, it delivers near-endless waves of black cherries, red raspberries and complex but gentle spice notes. Long and mouthwatering on the finish, it seamlessly eliminates any gap between power and elegance, leaving scant possible reaction except Wow! (JC)" (09/2022)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2022 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon. Ridge Monte Bello traces its roots to 1885, when Dr. Osea Perrone planted vineyards high in the Santa Cruz Mountains and built a stone winery that produced its first vintage in 1892. After decades of neglect following Prohibition, a group of Stanford engineers revived the site in 1959, leading to the first commercial Ridge Monte Bello vintage in 1962 under winemaker David Bennion. The wine’s global reputation was secured when the 1971 Monte Bello placed fifth at the 1976 Judgment of Paris, showcasing California’s potential to rival the great wines of Bordeaux.

Bid on this bottle of 2004 Pierre Legras 'Millésimé' Brut Champagne (93WS). Wine Spectator: "Aromatic, with notes of steeped and candied black currant and peach fruit, this expressive Champagne is framed by bright acidity and a lively bead, while accents of oyster shell, almond biscotti and lemon curd gain momentum and linger on the finish. Bid on this bottle of 2004 Prats and Symington "Chryseia" Douro (93RP, 92IWR, 91W&S). Wine Advocate: "The 2004 Chryseia seems brighter and more pointed than its 2003 counterpart, not quite as sweet, a little earthier. There are some similarities, such as refined tannins, lovely and persistent flavors and a suave, modern feel. The 2003 is far more attractive at the moment, and seems riper and sweeter, but the 2004 will likely overtake it. To me, it adds some of the complexity missing from the 2003, even if it is slightly less seductive. Ultimately, it may come down to your style preferences. I hope to retaste them side-by-side over the years. (MS)" (02/2007)

Bid on this bottle of 2018 Seña Bordeaux Blend Valle de Aconcagua (100JS, 98JD, 98RP, 97DC, 95VN). James Suckling: "This is a very thoughtful Seña that shows unique aromas of warm earth, mushrooms and conifer, turning to dark berries and black olives. The palate is more glamorous with ultra-fine tannins that envelop your palate. Shows power and vibrancy at the end. Toned muscles. It’s a very intellectual wine that harkens back to the 2015." Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2019 Sine Qua Non "Distenta I" Central Coast White Blend (100JD, 99RP). Jeb Dunnuck: "Starting with the white, the 2019 Distenta I White is pure perfection, and there's not a finer white coming out of California today. Coming from a final blend of 41% Roussanne, 26% Chardonnay, 14% Petit Manseng, 12% Viognier, and the rest Gelber Muskateller, it spent 23 months in 64% new French oak. It offers a heavenly bouquet of caramelized oranges, toasted bread, honeyed citrus, and almond paste. This carries to a full-bodied, deep, concentrated white with incredible intensity and depth, yet it’s never heavy or overbearing and is flawlessly balanced. These have a great track record of aging brilliantly, but you can’t go wrong drinking them in their youth, either. I know Krankl’s reds get all the attention, but he continues to produce brilliant, brilliant dry whites. There were 824 cases produced." (08/2022)

Bid on this bottle of 2001 Penfolds "Grange" Shiraz South Australia (98RP, 96JH, 96W&S, 94VN). Wine Advocate: "It is always a treat to taste Australia’s most famous wine, Penfolds’ Grange cuvee (the word Hermitage has been dropped because of legal issues). The 2001 Grange is one of the few vintages of this cuvee to be composed of 100% Shiraz (the others being 1951, 1952, 1963, 1999, and 2000). Aged 17 months in 100% American oak, and tipping the scales at 14.5% alcohol, the 2001 is undeniably one of the top examples of this wine. At this stage, it appears to eclipse the 1998 and 1996. Inky/blue/purple to the rim, with a stunning perfume of blueberries, blackberries, chocolate, graphite, and earth, it boasts good acidity, huge tannins, magnificent concentration, and a multilayered, textured mouthfeel. It is a big, but impeccably well-balanced Shiraz that should shed some of its structure and tannin over the next 4-5 years, and be at its best between 2010-2030+. (RP) 98+" (10/2006)

Bid on this bottle of 2013 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (94JD, 94RP). Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Pinot Noir Marcassin Vineyard doesn’t have quite the drama, depth of flavor or profound depth of the 2012. This dark plum/ruby-colored wine offers displays crisp acids as well as notes of Chinese black tea and orange rind, and builds incrementally in the mouth to a medium to full-bodied finish. By Marcassin standards, it’s just a brilliant wine rather than a compellingly great one. (RP) 94+" (03/2016)
