James Suckling: "Usually one of the palest Barolos in the glass, it shows its typical wild-strawberry and peony aromas, together with sweet violets, cinnamon, burned plastic-like smokiness and vermouth-like intensity. Great concentration on the full-bodied palate with velvety, creamy tannins. Refreshing, slightly lifted acidity and am elegant, filigree finish. Drinkable now, but best in a decade." (08/2024)
Current Bid: $600.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2017 Aubert "CIX" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay (99RP, 98JS, 97VN, 94WS). Wine Advocate: "Planted in 2008 to Montrachet clone, the 2017 Chardonnay CIX Estate is so delightfully savory, you could make a whole meal of it! It opens with bags of praline, pain grille, allspice and dill seed notions over a core of baked apples, pear tart, aniseed and lime leaves plus a touch of sea spray. Full-bodied, the palate has fantastic texture with a little chewy grip countering the slight oiliness and supporting the savory layers beautifully, finishing long and refreshing. Man, I just personally love the style of this wine! (LPB)" (10/2019)

This 2016 vintage is composed of 46% Syrah, 19% Grenache, 18.3% Petite Sirah, 15.3% Mourvèdre and 1.4% Petit Manseng, using 23% whole clusters. It spent around 34 months in French oak barrels, 75% new. It begins with intense aromas of crème de cassis, coffee grounds and, pencil shavings and a touch of bell pepper. Layered and downright intoxicating, the wine reveals beautiful dark cherry, crème de cassis mocha flavors which lead into the monumental finish. The dark fruits are beautifully complimented by lovely underlying acidity making this powerful wine nearly impossible to resist right now. Try your best to give this absolutely sensational effort another year in the bottle. (OB)" (12/2017)

Bid on this bottle of 1997 Lynch-Bages, Pauillac (92VN). Vinous: "The 1997 Lynch-Bages shows some degradation on the bricked rim. The bouquet is open-knit, fully mature with ferrous, undergrowth, leafy/autumnal scents. It's missing some fruit intensity, as you expect from a more challenging season. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, crisp black fruit laced with orange rind, black pepper, cedar and tobacco. This shows the most cohesion towards the finish and displays a long, sustained aftertaste. This is a real turn-up for the books. (NM)" (07/2023)
Current Bid: $96.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Artadi El Pison Rioja. (99DC, 98JS, 97+WA) Decanter: "Always one of Rioja’s – indeed, Spain’s – best wines, this is from a 2.4ha vineyard in Laguardia, planted in 1945. It’s a superdense, richly textured wine with massive concentration, but it’s not forced or over-ripe. Intensely aromatic, with notes of liquorice and wild herbs, it beguiles your tastebuds with supple tannins, sweet oak and flavours of orange zest, Asian spices and blackberry and plum fruit. (TA)" (03/2018)

This bottle came directly from the château's cellars. Incredible delineation and focus on the nose, this is just so pure and charming with black fruit, graphite, melted tar, cedar and pressed rose petals. It is close to perfection. The palate offers exquisite balance and finely-sculpted tannins. It's elegant and almost totally disguises its power. It gently fans out towards the finish with utmost poise and sophistication. Stunning. (NM)" (01/2023)

Of the 2017 Turley "Pesenti Vineyard" Paso Robles Petite Syrah, Wine Advocate writes: "The 2017 Petite Syrah Pesenti Vineyard was bottled three weeks before I tasted it but is nonetheless showing beautifully. It has a very deep purple-black, opaque color and nose of crème de cassis, black cherry liqueur, cracked black pepper, bacon fat, savory green and black olive, violet, lilac, perfumed earth and tons of blue fruit jam notes. Full-bodied, rich and savory, it features wonderful black and blue fruit layers with tons of floral and savory perfume, very firm, chewy tannins, great freshness and a very long, savory finish. (EB) 98+" (03/2019)

Bid on this bottle of 2007 Cos d'Estournel, St-Estèphe (95WE, 92WS, 91ST, 90JS, 90RP). Wine Enthusiast: "With its perfumed aromas, this is a wine that has richness and sweetness, with soft velvet power. It has an intense wood element that needs to blend into the rest of the wine, but the sweet black currant and freshness provide good balance. This is a seductive wine, with a fine solid character. *Editors' Choice* (RV)" (04/2010)
Current Bid: $110.00

Bid on this bottle of 2006 Giacomo Conterno "Cascina Francia" Barolo (97VN, 94JS, 94WS, 93ST). Vinous: "Is Giacomo Conterno’s 2006 Barolo Cascina Francia a traditional or modern Barolo? Great question. Texturally, the 2006 boasts marvelous depth and a level of pure intensity not often seen in traditionally made wines, yet the aromatics, tannin and overall structure are all super classic. This is another austere, tannic Barolo best left alone. (AG) 97+" (11/2014)
Current Bid: $210.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2016 Aubert "Eastside Vineyard" Russian River Valley Chardonnay (100JD, (97-100RP), 97WS, 95VN). Wine Advocate: "The 2016 Chardonnay Eastside Vineyard is scented of lemon tart, baking bread, crushed stones, clover honey and shaved almonds with hints of pure, sliced pears and Golden Delicious apples. Full-bodied, elegant, fine and restrained, the silken palate has a quiet intensity, finishing long with savory layers. (LPB)" (10/2017)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2017 Tusk Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. From seven different vineyards in five separate Napa Valley AVAs, the 2014 Tusk is another fine creation from consulting winemaker extraordinaire Phillipe Melka. Aged for 30 months in new French oak, this wine is a very limited production at just 250 cases. Winery notes: "Intense aromatics lavender, cassis, coffee, sweet tobacco, ripe currant extract, spiced plum, and candied orange rind explode from the glass. The mouthfeel strikes on all cylinders, powerful with a mineral background, giving an extra dimension and finishing with a sense of pure satisfaction."
Starting Bid: $1,140.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Harlan Estate Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (OWC - 99IWR, 99RP, 99VN, 98JS) in original wood. Vinous: "The 2012 Harlan Estate is bright, delicate and understated. Sweet red cherry, kirsch, mint, blood orange and mocha. Sweet red cherry, pomegranate, spice and blood orange lend vibrancy. There's terrific energy and tension from the late-ripening vintage, and a bit more oak tannin than there is these days, but all the elements are so well balanced. (AG)" (05/2024)
Current Bid: $2,450.00

Bid on this 2-bottle tasting lot; including 1-bottle of 2005 Léoville Barton, St-Julien (98JA, 97JD, 97WE, 96JS, 96VN, 96WS, 95RP, 95TWI) and 1-bottle of 2006 Léoville-Barton, St-Julien (94DC, 94JD, 94WE, 94WS, 92RP, 91ST). Of the 2005 Léoville Barton, St-Julien, Jane Anson writes: "Deep ruby red, this is great stuff, broad-shouldered, laced with aniseed, liqourice, touches of bitter black chocolate, muscular tannins and a luscious fruit core. Lip smacking stuff, with 2005 energy and excitement. Gets more serious as it opens, revealing black pepper spice, sage, rosemary and white pepper. A wonderful wine, one to sink into. You can easily wait to drink this, and it will reward another three to five years in bottle, then go for decades. If you do open it, give it a long carafe. 50% new oak." (06/2022)
Current Bid: $190.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Léoville-Las Cases, St-Julien (95DC, 94JD, 94WE, 92RP, 92VN, 91WS). Decanter: "A deeper register of fruit than many of the 2007s on display, this is one where you would never pick the vintage blind. Here we get wet stones sliding up against slate and liquorice, dark bristling cassis and bramble fruit. There is just so much hold and confidence, and yet juiciness. No need to open this one yet. (JA)" (02/2017)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2013 Hourglass "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (97JD, (94-96RP), 95VN, 95WE, 93JS, 93WS). Jeb Dunnuck: "Just a quintessential Napa Valley Cabernet that does everything right, Tony Biagi’s 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate comes from older vines in Calistoga and was brought up all in new barrels. Textbook, classic, elegant and impeccable balance are all adjectives that pop to mind, and this beauty sport a deep purple color to go with notes of pencil lead, blackcurrants, scorched earth and hints of tobacco leaf. Tasting like a 2009 First Growth from Pauillac (Mouton?), it has an incredibly sexy texture, full-bodied richness and a sensational finish. This is truly fabulous stuff and while approachable today, it will cruise for 2-3 decades. 97+" (07/2017)

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 1997 Corison "Kronos" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (90VN). Vinous: "Medium red. Fully mature aromas of currant, plum, smoky oak and animal fur. Conveys a sexy decadent quality to its sweet raspberry and currant fruit, with firm, somewhat pronounced acidity giving shape and lift to the middle palate. This rather complex, classically styled Cabernet, which derives some lift by subtle herbal notes, boasts a complicating element of salinity and finishes with dusty tannins and very good length. James Suckling: "You just want to smell this, with a polish and clarity that changes all the time. Aromas of walnuts, dark fruits, ginger, roasted seaweed, soya, iron, rosemary, and lavender. Full-bodied, yet polished and firm. Such tension and form. The length is phenomenal. As always, this is a selection of the best of the best. A blend of 90% Tempranillo and 10% Mazuelo. Bid on this bottle of 2014 Morlet "La Proportion Dorée" Sonoma County White Blend (100RP, 93VN). Wine Advocate: "A perfect wine is the 2014 La Proportion Dorée, a blend of 65% Semillon, 24% Sauvignon Blanc and 1% Muscadelle. This 650-case cuvée is from 29-year-old, dry farmed vines and was barrel-fermented. The wine is absolutely out of this world. With a light greenish gold color and a killer nose of lanolin, caramelized citrus, honeysuckle, orange marmalade and candle wax, the wine displays great acidity, a magnificent, massive, full-bodied mouthfeel, and seems to come across like a Sonoma County version of a dry Haut Brion blanc. This is singular wine - profound, compelling, whatever! (RP)" (12/2015)
Current Bid: $120.00

Bid on this 5-bottle tasting lot; including 3-bottles of 2015 Linne Calodo "Cherry Red" Paso Robles Proprietary Red (95RP, 94VN) and 2-bottles of 2016 Linne Calodo "Cherry Red" Paso Robles Red Blend (98JD, 94VN). Of the 2016 Linne Calodo "Cherry Red" Paso Robles Red Blend, Jeb Dunnuck writes: "I think the finest wine I’ve tasted from Matt is his 2016 Cherry Red, which is 52% Zinfandel, 14% Graciano, 23% Syrah, and the rest Carignan. This rub- hued beauty offers a fabulous perfume of blueberries, raspberries, brambly herbs, and dried flowers. Sweetly fruited, incredibly pure, yet concentrated and layered, it’s a sensational blend from a great winemaker. Don’t miss this beauty! I’ve written it numerous time, but Linne Calodo remains one of the reference point estates in Paso Robles. Winemaker/owner Matt Trevisan consistently puts together exotic and singular blends that deliver opulence as well as balance." (11/2018)
Current Bid: $211.00

Bid on this bottle of 2006 Dana Estates "Lotus Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (95RP). Wine Advocate: "From a vineyard situated on the lower hillsides in the St. Helena appellation, the 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Lotus Vineyard’s dark ruby/purple color is followed by an extraordinary bouquet of crushed rocks, spring flowers, and black currants. The wine exhibits superb intensity, elegance, and richness. (RP)" (12/2008)

Bid on this bottle of 2015 Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey St-Aubin "Le Banc" (90RP, 90WS). Wine Advocate: "Pierre-Yves Colin's 2015 Saint-Aubin Le Banc is really starting to show well, offering up a lovely bouquet of crisp Anjou pear, citrus oil, freshly baked bread and subtle hints of toasted nuts. Medium to full-bodied, elegantly textural and incisive, it's beautifully vibrant even in this warm vintage, with chalky structuring extract, racy acids and a long, penetrating finish. On release, this represented terrific value and I'm happy to have the better part of a case left in my cellar. (WK)" (07/2020)
Current Bid: $160.00

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2018 Pride Mountain "Vintner's Select Cuvee" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (94JD, 93VN). Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Vintners Select is terrific, with a classic Cabernet nose of red and black currants supported by lead pencil shavings, tobacco, and some gravelly earth-like minerality. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, it's not a blockbuster but builds nicely on the palate, with ripe, focusing tannins, a Bordeaux-like sense of structure, and outstanding length. It's approachable today and should keep for 15 years with no issues. It's a classic, impeccably made Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon." (05/2022)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Clos des Papes Châteauneuf-du-Pape (100RP, 99JD, 97VN, 97WS). Wine Advocate: "One of the great vintages from this estate, surpassing even the 1990, 2000, 2001, 2003, and maybe the 2010 (time will tell with this one), the 2007 Châteauneuf du Pape from Vincent Avril delivers everything you could want from a wine. Full-bodied, intense and beautifully concentrated, with plenty of muscle and depth, it shows the hallmark elegance and purity of the estate, with sensational notes of kirsch liqueur, raspberries, incense, smoked meats and Asian spices. The blend is the normal 65% Grenache, 20% Mourvedre, 10% Syrah and the rest a mix of permitted varieties, brought up all in older foudre, and it's just now entering its prime drink window and has another two decades of longevity. (JD)" (02/2017)

Bid on this bottle of 2009 Tor Kenward "Durell Vineyard" Wente Clone Chardonnay ((92-94RP), 93ST, 91WS). 93 points Stephen Tanzer: "(Tor Kenward is now making all of his chardonnays entirely with Wente clones): Pale yellow. Sexy aromas of nectarine, lemon oil, flinty minerality, butterscotch and smoky lees. Supple and intense, with complex savory and musky qualities to the nectarine and honey flavors. Very concentrated, juicy wine with excellent length." (May/June 11) 92-94 points Robert Parker: "The 2009 Tor Chardonnay Durell Vineyard exhibits aromas and flavors of honeysuckle, unbuttered popcorn, crushed rocks, tangerines and white currants presented in a full-bodied, wonderfully perfumed, complex style. The wine reveals impressive fruit levels as well as a blossoming complexity. It should drink well for at least 5-6 years." (12/10)
Starting Bid: $30.00

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2019 Luigi Einaudi "Cannubi" Barolo (97KO, 96RP, 94JS, 94WS, 93DC, 93WE, 92W&S). Kerin O'Keefe: "Red berry, rose petal and whiffs of exotic spice come to the forefront on this stunning red together with whiffs of camphor. It’s still youthfully austere, precise and firm, delivering wild strawberry, cranberry, ground clove and hints of coffee bean alongside taut, fine-grained tannins. Bright acidity keeps balanced. Give this a few more years to fully develop. " (02/2023)
Current Bid: $300.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2011 Booker "RLF" Paso Robles Red Blend. Booker Vineyard is farmed biodynamically. They believe it keeps them in touch with their vineyard and forces them to perceive it as a living, breathing entity. Biodynamic farming follows the beliefs of Rudolf Steiner, who promoted a holistic approach to farming, describing that all things on the farm (including soil, plants, and livestock) are interrelated. Like many, they were skeptical of the concept at first. Eventually they came to realize, if these farming practices are good enough for some of the most discriminating wineries of the world then why not give it a try. Thus far, biodynamics has proven to increase the overall health and balance of their vineyard, as well as their team working within it.A GSM blend with Tempranillo, too.

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2007 Domaine du Pégaü "Cuvée Réservée" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (95RP, 95WS, 94VN). Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Châteauneuf du Pape Cuvée Reservée (of which I was lucky to find a magnum on a Paris bistro’s wine list a week after my tasting at the estate) is a brilliant effort that ranks alongside the colossal 2003 Cuvee Reservee. A blend of approximately 85% Grenache, 8-9% Syrah, and the rest Mourvedre and other varietals from 50-100+ year old vines aged in foudre, it exhibits a dense plum/purple color along with a big, sweet bouquet of beef blood, grilled herbs, barbecue smoke, lavender, sweet cassis and kirsch and a hint of Asian soy. The wine possesses a fabulous texture, a full-bodied mouthfeel and a seamless integration of tannin, acidity and alcohol. Certainly the alcohol level is pushing 16% in this wine. (RP)" (10/2010)

The round, delicious and velvet-textured middle weight flavors retain a lovely sense of detail and energy, all wrapped in a refined and again youthfully austere finish." (01/2019)
Current Bid: $265.00

Bid on this 2-magnum lot of 2018 L'Aventure Estate Cuvée Paso Robles Red Blend (1.5L) (100JD, 98JS, 97VN, 95RP, 94DC). Jeb Dunnuck: Tasting like the straight Cab, yet with more sex appeal, it offers a huge nose of crème de cassis, white flowers, crushed stone, graphite, and crushed flowers. This carries to a full-bodied, gorgeously textured red with incredible balance, no hard edges, a thrilling mid-palate, and a great, great finish. It's going to benefit from 5-6 years of bottle age and keep for upwards of two decades or more. Hats off to winemaker Stephan Asseo on another incredible wine, as well as, I suspect, the wine of the vintage. *Ranked #5 in Top 100 Wines of 2020* (09/2020)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Gallica Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (95RP, 94VN, 94WS, 92DC). Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon is a big, plush wine. Despite its initial richness, there is plenty of underlying tannin. Sweet floral notes are woven throughout. The 2009 bursts with energy, precision and sheer class. It is a dazzling effort. Far from an easygoing 2009, the wine shows the more structured side of the vintage. It is likely to require at least a few years in bottle. The 2009 is 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Petit Verdot and 4% Cabernet Franc, aged in French oak barrels, 81% new. (AG) 95+" (12/2011)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2006 Glaetzer "Amon-Ra" Shiraz Barossa Valley South Australia (99JD, 96IWR, 96JH, 95WE, 94RP, 93ST). Jeb Dunnuck: "The almost perfect 2006 Glaetzer Shiraz Amon-Ra Barossa Valley is packed with earthy, bright and mineral laced fruit, leather and chocolate ganache flavors that cover the palate. Despite the size, this has fantastic acidity, amazing purity, perfect balance and otherworldly finish." (09/2008)
