Made from 45% Grenache, 33% Syrah and 22% Mourvedre, it’s hard to resist now, yet I see no reason it won’t evolve gracefully for upwards of a decade. (JD)" (08/2013)
Current Bid: $161.10

Ample blue fruits, kirsch liqueur, pepper, and tons of spicy notes all shine here, and this puppy has a layered, velvety mouthfeel, beautiful tannins, no hard edges, and awesome length. It's going to shine right out of the gate and is a good counterpoint to the more focused, cooler styled 2021s." (08/2024)
Current Bid: $492.00

Bid on this 3-magnum lot of 2015 Tensley OGT Santa Barbara County Syrah (1.5L) (97JD, 95VN, 94WE). Jeb Dunnuck: The 2015 Syrah OGT is mostly Colson Canyon Syrah, yet incorporates equal part Thompson and Tierra Alta Vineyard Syrah as well. Named after Joey’s son, Oliver Gunnar Tensley and made since 2003, the 2015 might just be the finest vintage of the cuvée to date. Crème de cassis, black raspberries, black pepper and spring flower notes all emerge from this full-bodied Syrah that has a core of sweet fruit, ripe tannin, integrated acidity and a great finish. It’s unquestionably a big, powerhouse of a wine, but it stays light, graceful and impossible to resist. Drink it anytime over the coming 10-15 years. (08/2017)

After a brief career in molecular and cell biology laboratories, Cruse worked his first harvest in 2006. Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2005 Testarossa "Thompson Vineyard" Santa Barbara County Syrah (92WE). Wine Enthusiast: "This is quite a luscious Syrah, soft, smooth, complex and layered, showing qualities of both warm and cool climates. From the cool end of the spectrum comes a lively acidity and not a trace of overripeness. The riper notes of blackberries, cassis, gingersnap cookie and licorice are delicious, enriched by smoky oak. " (12/2007)
Starting Bid: $60.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2000 Magdelaine, St-Emilion (94JG, 93WE, 93WS, 92RP, 92ST). John Gilman: "The 2000 vintage at Château Magdelaine is more powerful in profile than the lovely 2001, but the two are probably comparable in quality and just a bit different in style. The bouquet of the 2000 is really lovely today, jumping from the glass in a mix of red and black cherries, sweet dark berries, cigar ash, coffee bean, dark soil tones and a nice foundation of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, structured and rock solid in the mid-palate, with firm, fine-grained tannins, good acids, lovely focus and a long, well balanced and very promising finish." (09/2022)
Current Bid: $410.00

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2013 Joseph Phelps "Backus" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon (97VN, 96RP, 93JS). Vinous: "The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Backus Vineyard is a total turn-on. Deep, plush and exotic, the 2013 is also remarkably polished for a wine of its considerable size. There is a real sense of depth and gravitas that runs through the 2013. I would prefer to cellar the 2013 for at least a few years to allow the intense, dark fruit to be at its most expressive. (AG)" (12/2016)

Of the 2013 Corison Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, Decanter writes: "Beautifully perfumed aromas of rose petal, violets, blackberry, dark chocolate and incipient cigar tobacco burst from the glass in a striking array, the prelude to a wine that’s structured around refined, savoury tannins and juicy acidity. An ethereal and classically proportioned Cabernet which will age effortlessly thanks to its flawless balance, likely putting on weight with bottle age. Vinous: "If Tuscany had a formal vineyard classification Rancia would be a Grand Cru. And that is exactly what comes through in the 2015 Chianti Classico Riserva Rancia. Silky, sensual and finessed to the core, the 2015 is absolutely stellar. The ripeness of the tannins allows the natural radiance of the year to come through loud and clear. The 2015 is a special. Layers of fruit build effortlessly to the huge, polished finish. The T6 has it all - fruit and structure. This is a marvelously complete wine that should drink well out of the gate, yet also appears to have the stuffing to last for years. The T6 is clone 6 from the D2 block. (AG)" (12/2011)

Of the 2020 Ridge Vineyards "Buchignani Ranch" Sonoma County Carignane, James Suckling writes: "This is a fantastic carignan, with crushed berries, rust, wrought iron and Spanish cedar. Cigar box, too. Medium-bodied with firm, polished tannins that are folded into the wine and deliver freshness and precision. Drinkable now, but will age nicely, too." (09/2022)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Peter Michael "Les Pavots" Knights Valley Bordeaux Blend (OWC - (96-98RP), 97JS, 95WS) in original wood. A prodigious effort, it rivals some of the fabulous past vintages such as 1997, 2001, 2002 and 2007. The inky/purple-colored 2012 boasts classic notes of crème de cassis, roasted coffee, vanilla bean, cedar, forest floor and blueberries. Full-bodied and complex with sweet tannin as well as hints of charcoal and camphor, this opulent, multi-leveled, Bordeaux-styled 2012 can be drunk now or cellared for 25-30+ years. (RP)" (12/2014)

Wine Advocate: "A new addition to the Kinsman Eades lineup, the fruit for this wine comes from Geeslin vineyard, which is based in Calistoga, off Pickett Road and next to Eisele vineyard. The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon La Voleuse du Chagrin is made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Very deep garnet-purple colored, it leaps from the glass with vibrant notions of red and black currants, black cherries and wild blueberries plus hints of candied violets, dark chocolate, Sichuan pepper and forest floor. The full-bodied palate has fantastic concentration and depth, supported by a taut structure of wonderfully ripe, velvety tannins and seamless freshness, finishing with epic length. Seductively opulent and beautifully poised, this is one of the most exciting new single-vineyard expressions out of Napa Valley in recent years and well worth seeking out!

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2013 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay (100JD, 100RP). Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Chardonnay Marcassin Vineyard may be even better. Notes of caramelized citrus, hazelnut, apple blossom, lemon oil and orange marmalade are all present in this wine of dazzling aromatic and flavor dimension. It is full-bodied, again shows some wet pebbles (which I equate with minerality), vibrant acidity, and no real evidence of any oak. Much like the 2012, the finish goes on for 45+ seconds. This is another killer Chardonnay from Helen Turley and John Wetlaufer. (RP)" (03/2016)

Decanter: Deep plum in colour, holding its Pauillac character perfectly at 25 years old, opening up to show cedar, pencil shavings, tobacco, graphite, cassis and touches of raspberry purée. This is very much in the drinking window, with waves of camphor, charcoal, woodsmoke and tobacco adding complexity and interest. 2% Petit Verdot completes the blend. (JA) (03/2021)
Starting Bid: $440.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2018 Rhys "Skyline Vineyard" Santa Cruz Mountains Pinot Noir (98JD, 97RP, 97VN, 95JG, 93BH). Jeb Dunnuck: "From a steep vineyard located just off the Skyline Road, in the heart of the Santa Cruz Mountains, the 2018 Pinot Noir Skyline Vineyard is pure class, offering a complex, layered bouquet of redcurrants, black raspberries, orange blossom, forest floor, exotic flowers, and spice. Showing more minerality as well as a touch of iodine character, on the palate, this puppy is rich, full-bodied, and powerful, with lots of underlying structure. It's one of the bigger, richer examples of this cuvée I can remember, yet it says flawlessly balanced and has an expansive mouthfeel along with a gorgeous finish." (09/2020)
Current Bid: $207.00

Bid on this bottle of 1999 E. Guigal "La Mouline" Côte-Rôtie (100JD, 100RP, 99WS, 97VN, 94JS). Wine Advocate: "The most developed, evolved and forward of the three La-La’s in this vintage is the dense purple-colored 1999 Cote Rotie La Mouline. An extraordinary effort, it offers a smorgasbord of aromas and flavors. Scents of violets, raspberries, blackberries, roasted espresso, balsamic vinegar, and pepper tumble out of the glass. It is unctuously-textured, full-bodied, and fabulously concentrated with a tremendous purity and seamlessness that must be tasted to be believed. A wine of singular greatness... (RP)" (06/2003)

Jeb Dunnuck: "I was able to taste the 2018 Hermitage Blanc from multiple barrels and tank, and I continue to think Jean-Louis fashions one of the greatest whites on planet earth. Gorgeous white flowers, honeysuckle, ripe quince, and toasted almond notes dominate the bouquet, and it has that rare mix of richness and opulence paired with incredible purity, freshness, and focus. It has a wealth of material yet also shows the vintage’s more rounded, sexy style. Plan on drinking bottles on release and over the following 2-4 years or hold off for a decade. It’s certainly in the same ballpark as the 2017." (12/2019)

I have tasted the wine for three consecutive years, and each time it satisfied all of my requirements for perfection. The opaque purple color is followed by spectacular aromatics that soar from the glass, offering up celestial levels of black currants, minerals, smoked herbs, cedar wood, coffee, and pain grille. In the mouth, this seamless legend reveals full body, and exquisite layers of phenomenally pure and rich fruit, followed by a 40+ second finish. While accessible, the 1994 begs for another 5-7 years of cellaring. It should easily last for 30+ years. RP) (12/1997)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2018 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (99RP, 97JS, 97WS, 96VN, 96W&S, 95JD, 95WE, 93CG). Wine Advocate: "he 2018 Monte Bello is as classic a release from this storied site as ever. It contains 17% Merlot, 7% Petit Verdot and 2% Cabernet Franc. A ravishing, multidimensional nose of wet clay, cocoa powder, peperoncini, cured meat and eucalyptus endlessly expands and congeals with further aeration. The palate precisely stitches together supple concentration and firm, coarse tannins that give sturdiness and intensity to its otherwise medium-bodied frame. The finish is amazingly long and delicious and begins to close down after a few hours, telling me this timeless wine should be left alone for the next 10-12 years. Superb through and through, this wine should excel past its 50th birthday. (ML)" (04/2024)

Bid on this bottle of 2017 Aubert "CIX" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (98JS, 95RP, 95VN). James Suckling: "This is dense and focused with a very tight and compacted palate of blackberries, blueberries and smoke. Full-bodied and very flavorful. Structured and so beautiful. Quite muscular." (10/2018)

Bid on this 2-bottle tasting lot; including 1-bottle of 2008 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (97VN, 95CG, 95RP, 94WS, 93JS, 93WE) and 1-bottle of 2009 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (97IWR, 97RP, 96CG, 96WE, 94VN). Of the 2008 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend, Vinous writes: "The 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Insignia is a towering, statuesque wine bursting with blackberry jam, tar, spices, leather and licorice. It shows fabulous depth and richness backed up by serious, imposing tannins that suggest it has a long life. Ideally, the 2008 should be purchased by those who can be patient; it is not a wine for those seeking immediate gratification. The blend is 89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Petit Verdot and 4% Malbec. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2016 Realm "The Tempest" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (97JD, 96JS, 96WE, 95RP, 93VN). Jeb Dunnuck: "Starting with the thee blends (The Tempest, Falstaff, and The Bard), the 2016 The Tempest is always a Merlot-dominated release and is 66% Merlot and 34% Cabernet Sauvignon in 2016. It comes from multiple sites in the valley and sports a deep purple color as well as a rocking bouquet of plums, chocolate, scorched earth, and spice box, with an alluring mole-like character developing in the glass. It’s deep, rich, and powerful on the palate, yet has a forward, layered style as well as rocking purity, no hard edges, sweet tannins, and a great finish. My money is on it being one of the finest Merlot-dominated blends in the vintage." (09/2018)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Dana Estates ''Hershey Vineyard'' Howell Mountain Sauvignon Blanc. 2012 was a fantastic vintage in Napa Valley, and this Sauvignon Blanc shines with bright, balanced flavors. Harvested from the Hershey Vineyard over four weeks in September, the grapes fermented and aged for 19 months in 34% new French oak (225L), 18% new French oak “cigar”, 33% concrete egg, and 15% once used French oak. Tasting notes from the winery: "Expressive notes of meyer lemon, nutmeg and white flower. Lemon meringue richness with persimmon and candied ginger dominate the mid palate. The high elevation Hershey site and soils are expressed in the crisp, fresh acid profile. This is a Sauvignon Blanc built for aging."

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2015 Cakebread "Dancing Bear Ranch" Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon (97JD, 97RP). Wine Advocate: "Cabernet Sauvignon with an 8% splash of Cabernet Franc, the deep purple-black colored 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Dancing Bear Ranch offers a nose of crushed blackberries, blueberries and crème de cassis with cigar box, underbrush and Indian spices plus wafts of lavender and sage. Quite elegant and sophisticated in the medium to full-bodied mouth, it shows delicate flavor layers, finely crafted with a firm frame and a long finish with mineral and spice layers. (LPB)" (10/2017)

Bid on this 3 liter of 2016 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (3L) (98IWR, 98VN, 97JD, 96RP, 96W&S, 96WS, 95DC, 95JS). Vinous: "One of the highlights in this tasting, the 2016 Monte Bello has turned out just as beautifully as I hoped it would. Soaring aromatics, bright acids and mid-weight structure give the 2016 a super-classic feel. Clearly, the 2016 is very primary today, with plenty of bright red and purplish berry fruit. More than that, though, the 2016 pulses with energy and simply exceptional balance. Don't miss it! (AG)" (10/2019)
