TOP PICKS...
(a handful of our favorites also listed in the New Arrivals section)

  • 2015 Léoville-Barton, St-Julien (Pre-Arrival) ( $76.99)
97 points Jeb Dunnuck: "I absolutely loved the 2015 Léoville-Barton and this has everything you could want from a Left Bank Bordeaux. Cassis, smoked earth, graphite, tobacco leaf, and thrilling amounts of minerality all emerge from this inky colored, full-bodied, power-packed, brut of a Saint-Julien that holds everything together and stays pure, balanced and elegant on the palate. It has a lot of tannins, yet more than enough fruit. The 2015 is a blend of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon and 14% Merlot, brought up in 60% new French oak, and it needs 7-8 years of bottle age and will shine for 2-3 decades. Bravo!" (12/2017) 97 points Wine Enthusiast: "Rich, generous and elegant, this is a very dense wine but with great black fruits to balance this structure. The elements are already coming together to create another great wine from this property. *Cellar Selection* (RV)" (02/2018) 96 points Vinous: "A dense, powerful wine, the 2015 Léoville-Barton is going to need quite a bit of time to come together, as it is massively tannic and structured at this stage. (AG)" (02/2018) 96 points James Suckling: "This is a very focused Barton with ultra-fine tannins that are so polished and chalky. It drives through the center palate with currant and berry character. Full-bodied, polished and straightforward with driving tannin. Love the texture. Class. Yes. Drink in 2021." (02/2018) 95 points Wine Advocate: "Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2015 Leoville Barton offers up notions of warm red currants, black raspberries and dark chocolate with wafts of cigar box, violets and bay leaves. Elegant, medium-bodied and sporting great freshness, the taut, tightly wound palate of intense red fruits and floral accents is well-framed with firm, grainy tannins, finishing on a lingering mineral note. (LPB)" (02/2018) 95 points Wine Spectator: "This delivers some serious wow, dripping with warm fig, blackberry and boysenberry reduction notes, along with melted black licorice and fruitcake flavors. Shows ample grip but remains beautifully polished, letting the fruit sail on. Don't worry though, as long echoes of roasted apple wood and tar signal that this is built for the long haul. Best from 2025 through 2042. (JM)" (03/2018) 94 points Decanter: "One of the deepest, richest and darkest of the St-Juliens in 2015, showing a lick of tar and a crack of cassis. Confident and settling in for the long haul, a salty minerality kicks in on the finish to give a mouthwatering quality. 60% new oak barrels. Eric Boissenot consults. (JA)" (11/2017) Jancis Robinson: "Deep crimson. Fresh and zesty. Much more lifted than its Langoa stablemate. Really rather glorious actually. Very fresh but with slaty undertow. Now this is a 'mineral' wine! 18/20" (10/2017) K&L Notes: 94 points Neal Martin for Wine Advocate: "The 2015 Leoville Barton is less expressive than the Langoa Barton at the moment, although there is more complexity locked up here. Black fruit, briary, crushed stone and a touch of violet all vie for attention. The palate is fresh and vibrant, nicely structured albeit without the depth and volume that I think the 2016 will bring. I would prefer a touch more persistence but otherwise this is a finely made, stylish Leoville Barton (as usual). Anticipated maturity: 2021 - 2045." (2/2018)

  • 2015 Pontet-Canet, Pauillac (Pre-Arrival) ( $104.99)
98 points James Suckling: "So much floral and dark-fruit character with almonds and walnut shell. Full body and ultra-fine tannins. Powerful. Classic style with a harmony and energy. Goes on for minutes. A superb wine with great fruit. Real Bordeaux." (01/2018) 97 points Wine Advocate: "Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2015 Pontet-Canet comes charging out of the glass with fantastically expressive notes of black cherry preserves, black raspberries and blackcurrant pastilles plus touches of kirsch, wilted roses, tobacco, camphor and cinnamon stick with a waft of fragrant soil. Full bodied, the palate is laden with black and red fruit layers, supported by very firm, very finely grained tannins and provocative freshness, finishing with incredible length and stunningly perfumed. (LPB)" (05/2020) 97 points Vinous: "Proprietor Alfred Tesseron and winemaker Jean-Michel Comme produced an absolutely stellar Pontet-Canet in 2015. Sumptuous, racy and totally inviting, the 2015 is all class. Super-ripe dark cherry, plum, spice and exotic floral notes build as the 2015 shows off its alluring personality. Even with all of its raciness, the 2015 speaks with authority and power. Fine tannins extend the persistent, highly nuanced finish. The 2015 is 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot aged 50% new oak, 4% in terra cotta and 15% in neutral oak. Tasted three times. (AG) 97+" (02/2018) 97 points Wine Enthusiast: "Succulent fruits, rich tannins and juicy acidity are in perfect harmony in this wine produced from biodynamic grapes. It has a rich, velvet texture and dense structure, sumptuous and already balanced and delicious. However do not be fooled, this is a serious wine for aging. *Cellar Selection* (RV)" (04/2018) 97 points Decanter: "A vindication of Jean-Michel Commes obsession with detail. A true Pauillac powerhouse, exploding with aromas of wild blackberries and Lapsang Souchong tea before the voluptuous, expressive palate unfolds. Peerless definition and gravitas, but have patience. Part matured in amphora. (SW)" (07/2019) 95 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2015 Pontet Canet is 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot brought up in 50% new oak, and 35% in amphora. With textbook Pauillac notes of lead pencil shavings, tobacco leaf, smoke, and licorice, as well as a core of pure crème de cassis fruit, this beautiful, full-bodied, impeccably balanced is one of the few 2015s thats going to demand cellaring. The tannin are high, yet sweet, and like its bright acidity, nicely integrated into the wine. Forget bottles for 5-7 years and enjoy over the following three decades. I dont put this as the level of the 2009 and 2010, but its still a beautiful wine. Tasted three times. 95+" (11/2017) 94 points Wine Spectator: "This sports a lovely core of gently steeped plum, blackberry and black currant fruit, carried by velvety structure, while smoldering tobacco and charcoal notes fill in through the finish. Fleshes out steadily in the glass, revealing more juniper, bay leaf and loam accents. (JM)" (03/2018) K&L Notes: 93 points Neal Martin: "The 2015 Pontet Canet is endowed with impressive lift and delineation on the nose of blackberry, graphite and tobacco – classic Pauillac all the way through. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grained tannin and slightly herbal in style. The graphite-infused finish is missing a little depth and grip (like some other 2015 Pauillacs), though it seems to develop with aeration. I suspect that the 2016 will be superior. Tasted blind at the Southwold 2015 Bordeaux tasting." (07/2019)

  • 2010 Donatella Cinelli Colombini Brunello di Montalcino Riserva ( $114.99)
97 points Wine Spectator: "There are plenty of bass notes here, augmented by plum, licorice, spice and chocolate hints, along with cherry and floral flavors. The solid structure suggests this will age at a glacial pace, though the long aftertaste indicates a lot of future pleasure. Shows excellent balance and harmony overall. *Highly Recommended* (BS)" (06/2016) 96 points Wine Advocate: "Showing a dark garnet color and thick consistency, the 2010 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva is a very beautiful expression of Sangiovese executed in a generous and opulent style. The wine reveals deep layers with black cherry, prune, spice, leather, wet earth and pressed rose. Despite the powerful approach, there is no mistaking the wine's feminine side. I am referring to the floral, dried potpourri and church incense elements that give this Brunello such distinguished grace. (ML)" (03/2016) 94 points James Suckling: "A firm and fresh red with lots of lemon, dried fruit and generosity. Full and firm yet bright and lively. A fun combination of structure and bright fruit to this." (02/2016) 93 points Wine Enthusiast: "Truffle, leather, scorched earth, menthol and steeped plum aromas lead the way on this full-bodied red. The brawny palate offers dried black cherry steeped in spirits, blackberry confiture, licorice, cinnamon and mocha alongside a backbone of fine-grained tannins. You can barely detect the warmth of alcohol on the finish. (KO)" (05/2016) Jancis Robinson: "Almost pitch-black ruby with orange rim. A little stalky on the nose and plenty of rich fruit on the palate. Gripping tannins. Dense and rich on the finish. Wait for it to settle. 17/20 points (WS)" (01/2016)

  • 2015 Pedro Martinez Alesanco Rosado Rioja ( $9.99)
Based in the Rioja Alta village of Badarán, Martínez Alesanco is a truly original bodega producing tasty, characterful wine for laughably low prices. They are entirely self-reliant in grapes, all of which are grown in their home village of Badarán, one of the coldest zones of Rioja Alta. The vineyards are closer to the Sierra de la Demanda mountains, a range whose elevation and visible snow covered peaks are even more dramatic than the Sierra Cantabria range to the north. Martínez Alesanco's Rosado is made from Garnacha and white Viura grapes in a typical "clarete" style for which this river valley is justly famous (the vineyards that Muga sources for their popular rosé are not too far away). Bright red berries, juicy blood orange and ripe citrus fruit combine to produce this mouthwatering, delicious rosé. You simply must try this one. (Joe Manekin, K&L Spanish wine buyer)

  • 2015 Pedro Martinez Alesanco Tempranillo Rioja ( $9.99)
Based in the Rioja Alta village of Badarán, Martínez Alesanco is a truly original bodega producing tasty, characterful wine for laughably low prices. They are entirely self reliant in grapes, all of which are grown in their home village of Badarán, one of the coldest zones of Rioja Alta. The vineyards are closer to the Sierra de la Demanda mountains, a range whose elevation and visible snow covered peaks are even more dramatic than the Sierra Cantabria range to the north. This is made from Tempranillo grown in iron rich clay soils. In fact, this red tinged, iron laden clay mark the wines as noticeably as they do the homes and structures of this structures of this off the beaten path, soulful Rioja village. Given the coolness of the harvest combined with Badarán's unique colder climate, this young Rioja shows bright, focused mixed berry fruits with great cut and purity. Fermented with indigenous yeasts, tank aged, and always treated very gently (just a light filtration here), this is a "joven" style red that speaks to its unique terroir.

  • 2013 Route Stock Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon ( $17.99)
92 points Wine Enthusiast: "*Editors' Choice* With small additions of Merlot and Cabernet Franc, this wine opens in green olive and celery, with a tease of mint, before unleashing a mouthfilling core of black cherry and cassis. Lively acidity presides over all, giving a powerful backbone to a sophisticated wine." (06/2016) Connoisseurs Guide: " *Good Value* Sweet oak makes an immediate play for attention in both the moderately rich aromas and flavors of this nicely rounded and fairly outgoing effort, but steady ripe cherry fruit soon catches up and expediently takes the lead. The wine is subject to a little more tannic dryness than is ideal, yet its hold on fruit is comfortably secure and will successfully see it through to better with a bit of cellar time." (04/2016)

  • 2013 Screaming Eagle Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon - 3 available ( $1,999.99)
100 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The grand vin 2013 Screaming Eagle is pure perfection in a glass and has everything you could want from a wine. Possessing a Château Margaux-like perfume of crème de cassis, sandalwood, dried flowers/violets, and graphite, its full-bodied, beautifully concentrated, ultra-pure, and incredibly elegant, all of which is very much in the style of this iconic estate." (12/2017) 100 points James Suckling: "Breathtaking aromas of blueberry, wet earth, black truffle, vine bark and lavender undertones. Full-bodied, yet tight and compressed with fabulous savory and dark fruit flavors. It lasts for minutes on the finish. The classicism in this wine is second to none. Incredible subtlety. Lovely austerity. Beauty in simplicity. Glorious to taste, yet a wine for decades ahead." (09/2016) 99 points Decanter: "Dark cassis, graphite and rich soil tones marry in a bouquet of notable purity, introducing a polished, rich and sophisticatedly savoury wine, impressive for its complexity, completeness and elegance. Nick Gislason, one of Napa Valley's most thoughtful and compelling personalities, may well be crafting the most successful wines Screaming Eagle has ever produced. Interestingly, this address is now one of the earliest to harvest in all of Oakville. (WK)" (05/2016) 98 points Vinous: "The 2013 Screaming Eagle remains a very young wine. Dark, brooding and quite potent, the 2013 possesses tremendous depth backed by equally serious tannins. Blackberry, graphite, lavender, mocha and dried herbs are some of the many nuances that gradually open in the glass. In most years, Screaming Eagle has a Lafite-like purity of fruit. The 2013 has plenty of that, but the tannin profile and somber feel remind me more of wines like Montrose or an imposing vintage of Mouton, like the 1986. Readers lucky enough to own the 2013 are in for a real treat, but I would not think of touching a bottle anytime soon, as it remains an infant. Two recent bottles were nothing short of spectacular. (AG) 98+" (05/2024) 97 points Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Screaming Eagle flagship wine is a blend of 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot and 11% Cabernet Franc. As one might expect, the purity of the cassis, which is always a hallmark of this estate and wine, is well-displayed in this beauty. Dense purple in color, it offers up some floral notes intermixed with damp earth, blackcurrant jam, blackberry and hints of licorice and incense. This reminds me somewhat of the 2010 Screaming Eagle. Full-bodied, rich, but perfectly balanced, its another terrific example of this iconic estate. (RP) 97+" (10/2015)

Automate the effort to find your favorite wines! Our waiting list "keyword matching" program sends you an email when a wine matching your individual keywords comes into our inventory. Find more information or get started with your waiting list for keywords in the My Account section of our site.

From the home page of our site you can view a listing of all New Arrivals as well as items that are Coming Soon. In addition right there in the middle of the home page there is a link to our Best Sellers.

We offer five excellent wine clubs and a new exclusive Personal Sommelier Service, that allow you to sample outstanding wines from all over the world. Due to our bulk purchase power and longstanding relationships, the quality and value offered by these clubs are tremendous.
