Bruichladdich 18 Year Old Unpeated Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky (blue wrap) (750ml)

This 18 year old single malt is a deal. It has no smoke aromas or flavors because it has not been peated. It is full bodied, concentrated and complex. I liked it best with a splash of water which brought out some sweet notes and a soft mouth feel.

This single malt is easy to enjoy. The nose is pretty with sweet malt notes. In the mouth, it is light and round with sweet malt notes again. I liked it best with a touch of water which opened it up.

A thirty year old Calvados is a special treat. The 1993 Domaine Hubert has a mature and dense apple nose. In the mouth, it is full ,round and creamy, with a concentrated apple flavors. There is a long and dry apple flavored finish.

Kilchoman "Sanaig" Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky (750ml)

Kilchoman is one of the smallest distilleries and is independently owned. The nose has nice promounced smoke aromas. They are inviting. The sherry wood influence works well with this single malt, providing complexity and flavor , but it does not dominate. This is an easy, creamy and smokey treat.

Fortuna Sour Mash Small Batch Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey (750ml)

This Bourbon is full bodied and expressive. In the nose there are sweet caramel- like classic Bourbon aromas. In the mouth it is big and sweet but there is a pleasant balance to it. There is a mouth coating finish. A splash of water opens it up and brings out a little more sweetness. It is good with and with out water.

Jack Daniel's "Barrel Proof" Single Barrel Select Tennessee Whiskey (375ml)

I tasted this with and without the addition of water. Without water, the rich and concentrated promise of this whiskey shows. With water, it really opens up . The nose is expressive with rich caramel notes. In the mouth, it is rich, round and lusty with a long finish.

This Tequila delivers a lot for the money. The nose is inviting with subtle citrus and savory notes. In the mouth the Casco Viejo Blanco is clean and pure with citrus and savory flavors. While it is delicious enough to drink alone, it will be great in cocktails.

This winery produces year after year excellent well priced wines. The 2010 is no exception. The nose is interesting and complex, a pleasant introduction to what is to come. In the mouth it is full bodied and dry, with notes of earth. A great food wine, it will go well with hearty foods.

What an exciting idea. Distill a gin using some botanicals from a local area.The St. George Terrior Mt. Tam is more that a good project, it also tastes good and expands the bonderies of flavors for a gin. There are aromas of juniper and bay laurel that are followed by flavors of juniper, bay laural, sage and fir. A gin to think about and enjoy. Over the last ten years this has been on of our best selling gins because it is both delicious and unique.

This is a very will made and delicious Mezcal. The nose is very complex. Every moment seems to offer different aromas, with citrus and savory notes interacting. In the mouth it was soft with a nice roundness and a hint of minerals. There are very subtle hints of smoke.

This rum has a lot to offer for fans of rums made from fresh sugar cane juice. The nose has a nice grass and savory aromas. In the mouth it is a dry rum but there are nice fruity notes with savory undertones. It is easy to drink and enjoy.

A treat from a closed distillery. This is a chance to taste the excellent single malt that Littlemill was able to produce. The nose is sweet, complex and pretty. In the mouth it is complex with rich honey flavors. This single malt is light bodied and there are no smoke flavors. With a touch of water it really opens up and is fuller bodied.

This is a bright and easy Vodka. It is made with corn and is slightly sweeter than most vodka. This makes it perfect for cocktails. I think that a vodka and soda with a wedge of citrus would be a very refreshing cocktail with Mulholland Vodka.

This is a medium bodied bourbon with a wonderful sweet nose with caramel notes. In the mouth there are caramel and honey flavors with a pleasing dry finish. I though that it was very good with and without the addition of water. It will be great alone or in cocktails.

This is a wonderful tradition gin. It has everything that a gin needs to be tasty and enjoyable. It has an elegant and integrated nose with juniper aromas with a hint of spice. In the mouth it is soft and round . This will be great to drink alone and will go well in cocktails.At a recent staff tasting it was very popular with the staff.
Probitas (Foursquare/Hampden) White Blended Rum (750ml)

This delicious rum has a beautiful light color. In the mouth it was very soft and drinkable. It will go well in some cocktails but drinking it straight is an excellent option. It is pure and clean with layers of flavor. I did not pick up a lot of funk from the Hampden but nuance and expressive flavors . The rums from these two distilleries work well together.

Four Roses "Small Batch Select" Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey (750ml)

This is a blend of six and seven year old bourbons. For fans of Four Roses it is a must try, and for those who don't already know Four Roses bourbons, it is a chance to see how good this distillery is. The nose is all sweet and brown sugar like. In the mouth it is complex with a nice richness that is on the dry side. It opens up with a little water and becomes a little softer.

Classic and delicious with just the right balance between juniper and citrus notes. In the nose there are juniper, citrus and a subtle floral hints. In the mouth it is soft and clean with dry botanical notes support by citrus flavors. Use it in any cocktail that calls for a classic dry gin.

Inverroche "Verdant" Gin (750ml)

A great addition to the gin selection because it adds a new exciting and delicious taste experience. The Verdant has a light translucent green color. In the nose it has classic juniper and botanical aromas. In the mouth it becomes very interesting with a creamy mouthfeel with licorice and botanical flavors that come together to produce a unique and lovely gin. Inverroche recommends it to be mixed with tonic and a twist.

Inverroche "Amber" Gin (750ml)

When I first saw that K&L had a new gin I thought that there was not need to offer a new one because so many good ones are already in inventory. I was wrong, the Inverroche gins are all both tasty and interesting and add new taste experiences. The Amber is unique and delicious. The nose has subtle and delicate juniper notes that sit on top up a rich and almost burnt honey like aromas. In the the mouth it is full and creamy with a rich honey like and nut like flavors but it is not sweet. It will taste good alone on with tonic water.

The San Venanzio is an excellent Prosecco. It is bright and refreshing with a kiss of sweetness that is accented with subtle mineral notes. It is great to drink for any occasion and will go well lighter foods. Lovers of prosecco do pass this one up.

This is a wonderful single malt for those looking for an easy drinker. The the nose is light and pretty with a hint of bees wax. In the mouth it is light and delicate with the sherry aging adding juicy notes. What makes this single so nice is that all of the flavor aspects are balanced and harmonious. There is a delicious finish.
Woodinville Straight 100% Rye Whiskey

This Rye has a certain restrained richness and is on the dry side for a Rye.There are spice notes and it is complex and delicious.It is a classic and a high quality product.
The finish is juicy and long. A splash of water softens and opens it up. The Woodinville Rye should make most Rye drinkers very happy.

This Gin has beautiful dark red color which will add a pleasant visual dimension to a gin and tonic. In the nose there is an interaction of sweet fruit and juniper aromas. In the mouth it is rich and round with the sweetness of the shiraz interacting with subtle botanical and citrus notes. The Four Pillars Bloody Shiraz is a new flavor direction in the gin section providing more depth and choice.

When I first saw this product come in I must admit that I though it was some type of gimmick product. But I was wrong. This is serious and delicious rum. The nose starts out with hints of caramel and subtle earthy notes. In the mouth it is dry, complex, earthy and round. This rum should please fans of Jamaican Rums. With a touch of water the rum opens up a little and the flavors become more pronounced.

A wonderful addition to the Aperitivo section. It has a natural dark red color which is nice to look at. But even better is how it tastes. There is a kiss of sweetness that is aided by spice ( clove and cinnamon ?) and a nice bitter finish. Great with soda.

A wonderful and delicious whiskey. It is rich and round and full bodied. The bourbon seems to dominate with the spice of the rye having a secondary influence. The only problem with this whiskey is that it is too easy to drink.

This eau de vie is packed full of happiness. If you like pears and booze, this is a wonderful combination. There are expressive pear aromas followed by nice clean and dry pear flavors. Great alone, but I bet some creative cocktails could be made with this product.

A wonderful addition to the spirits section. Bright apple aromas are interwoven with subtle floral accents. In the mouth the Hubert Calvados has nice delicious apple flavors. In a few words it is pretty, tasty and a good value.
