Wine Storage

Store your K&L purchases with confidence. Every order includes 60 days of complimentary short-term storage, air-conditioned and ready when you are, so you can consolidate multiple orders into a single pickup.

For longer-term aging in climate-controlled conditions, we offer two options:

  • Managed storage through our partner RareStorage
  • Private on-site wine lockers

So your collection is protected until you're ready to enjoy it.

RareStorage — Approved K&L Storage Partner

Long-term, managed storage through our partner RareStorage, featuring temperature- and humidity-controlled conditions, online inventory management, and online retrieval requests.

Every K&L purchase includes 60 days of complimentary storage, ideal for consolidating multiple orders before pickup or delivery.

Buy it from us and the first 60 days of storage are free. Bring it from elsewhere and the first two months are billed, whether or not the wine stays. Short stays are welcome on those terms, and if you decide to keep your collection with us, those two months were simply your first two invoices. Each channel keeps its own published rate: K&L purchases at 40 cents a bottle, outside wine on the sliding scale from 55 cents down to 45. Outside wine’s first two invoices are based on the quantity received, even if some or all bottles leave sooner; subsequent invoices are based on the wine remaining in storage.

WineRate per bottle per monthBilling startsMonthly invoice minimum
Purchased from K&L$0.40, flatAfter 60 free days$9.50 — shared invoice minimum*
From anywhere else (outside intake)$0.55 for the first 240 bottles;
$0.50 for the next 360;
$0.45 for every bottle above 600
On arrival$9.50 — shared invoice minimum*

*The $9.50 minimum applies once to each monthly invoice total, including when the invoice contains both K&L purchases and outside wine. It is not charged separately for each channel.

Outside wine requires two monthly invoices, even if you remove it sooner. K&L purchases have no minimum storage commitment.

Outside-wine rates are marginal: only the additional bottles in each band receive that band's rate. Earlier bottles are not re-rated when you cross a band.

Bottle counts use 750ml equivalents: a magnum counts as two; a half bottle counts as one.

For outside wine, your first invoice is issued on the first day of the month after receipt, and your second on the first day of the following month. Both invoices are charged whether or not your wine remains in storage. After that, you are billed monthly while your wine remains with us.

An example

30 bottles from your home cellar arrive October 31, 2026. Your first invoice is November 1, 2026 for $16.50, your second is December 1, 2026 for $16.50. From January 1, 2027 you are billed only if the wine is still with us.

No receiving fee. No prepaid or committed rate tiers. No negotiated rates. Shipping and packing are quoted separately. A valid card on file is required before outside wine is accepted.
