2023 Rafael Cambra "Soplo" Garnacha Valencia
Reviwer Picture By: Scott Beckerley | Review Date: 1/15/2026 | Send Email
Unlike many other affordable Garnacha's from Valencia, this one has some stuffing! It shows on the nose of boysenberry and deep black raspberry. Very pretty and extra interesting due to the additional scents of herbs and just a touch of licorice root. On the palate, it is very nicely clean with fresh (and deep!) dark red fruits. The dark red fruits are complimented by roasted meat herbs and lighter savory flavors. This wine is super versatile, and the mid-palate richness makes it work well with barbecued and grilled meats and vegetables. It is so affordable that there is no guilt involved when buying in quantity!

2023 Seppeltsfield "Watervale" Riesling Clare Valley South Australia
Reviwer Picture By: Rachael Ryan | Review Date: 1/15/2026 | Send Email
Crisp, refreshing and ultra racy, this is a wine that makes you wonder why more people are not reaching for Aussie Riesling. Sourced from the Watervale sub-region of South Australia’s Clare Valley – widely considered to be the premier area for cultivating Riesling -- the 2023 Seppeltsfield Riesling is bursting with lime zest, juicy grapefruit and lemon blossom. Clean as a whistle on the palate, this wine finishes dry with a zinging, almost electric tension. A style of Riesling completely unique to the Clare Valley, with incredibly vibrant citrus notes and linear acidity, balanced by a surprising palate weight, this is a great option for Sauvignon Blanc fans who want to try something new. Try this one poolside on a warm, sunny day or for when you just want to pretend that’s where you are!

2021 Tayu 1865 Pinot Noir Malleco Valley
Reviwer Picture By: Scott Beckerley | Review Date: 1/15/2026 | Send Email
This super value bright star of a Pinot Noir has a fragrant nose of black raspberry and bright cherry with background scents of earthy spices and fresh (clean!) wood. In the mouth, the brightness carries over and then becomes deeper and quite generous with riper cherries, moderately dry tannins and some rather sweet baking spices. The finish is clean and on the long side and a subtle bit of minerals. Hard to beat at this quite astounding price!

There Does Not Exist "Skeleton Trees" Imperial Stout, California (500 ml.)
Reviwer Picture By: Michael Pires | Review Date: 1/15/2026 | Send Email
TDNE did a phenomenal job with this one! A Generous and rich stout that is silky smooth. Flavors are nicely integrated with no notes overpowering the other (as can be common with other stouts with vanilla and coffee added). Flavor notes include dark chocolate, cacao nib, biscotti, hazelnut, oats, coffee, and vanilla bean. There is some sweetness to this one, but not as pronounced as a pastry stout would have. Another wonderful beer from the crew over at TDNE!

Larceny 7 Year Old "Sylvia Suffers No Fools" K&L Exclusive Private Single Barrel #7757818 Cask Strength Kentucky Straight Wheated Bourbon (750ml ships as a 1.5L)
Reviwer Picture By: Josh Gelfand | Review Date: 1/14/2026 | Send Email
While the history of the wheated bourbon mashbill dates back to William Larue Weller’s original recipe from the 1840s, the style was not truly popularized until after Prohibition. During that era at the famed Stitzel-Weller distillery, Julian Van Winkle acquired another notable brand known for producing wheated bourbon, one named after former U.S. Treasury bond agent John E. Fitzgerald. Together, Weller and Old Fitzgerald came to define the wheated bourbon style, at least until Maker’s Mark entered the picture in the 1950s. Today, with Heaven Hill owning the Fitzgerald line and Sazerac controlling the Weller and Pappy labels, a friendly rivalry persists over what constitutes the “real” wheated bourbon. In my opinion, it simply does not matter. What does matter is that Old Fitzgerald, along with its little brother Larceny, tends to fly under the hype radar that surrounds the others. This Larceny private barrel can easily go head-to-head with a Weller Full Proof. It comes in one proof point hotter at 126, is seven years old, and delivers a profile that is just as sweet and bold, if not more so. The nose offers dry cedar, pineapple frond, dusty vanilla, Bing cherries, and butter croissants. On the palate, rich butterscotch and caramel lead, joined by peanut brittle, a touch of sea salt, and a layer of nectarine sweetness. The finish evokes fresh sourdough bread in an old barn, with rich wood and grain settling together in perfect harmony. This is a beautiful and accessible wheated bourbon, and a legend in the making.

2021 Tayu 1865 Pinot Noir Malleco Valley
Reviwer Picture By: Rachael Ryan | Review Date: 1/14/2026 | Send Email
Pinot Noir is notoriously one of the most finicky varieties to cultivate, especially so in extreme cool-climate regions. Considering this, the 2021 Tayu 1865 Pinot Noir is a head-turner of a wine – dark, dense, and brimming with black cherry and plum notes – all at a price that seems too good to be true. Made from fruit grown in Chile’s Malleco Valley, the southernmost winegrowing region in the country, this wine balances a high concentration of just ripe black fruit notes with sprightly acidity and gently gripping tannins. The climate of the Malleco Valley is marginal, on par with other regions perched at the edge of what’s feasible, such as New Zealand’s Central Otago region, or Germany’s Ahr region. Much like wines made the former and the latter, this wine has a distinct intensity, wrapped up in a nervy, linear structure. With just a faint hint of oak on the palate and a subtle green note, like freshly harvested tender herbs, the finish of the wine is so long and lingering, it’s hard to believe that it's under $20. Simply one of the best values I’ve had the pleasure of trying recently, this is a wine to snap up while still available.

2023 Rafael Cambra "Soplo" Garnacha Valencia
Reviwer Picture By: Rachael Ryan | Review Date: 1/14/2026 | Send Email
Rafael Cambra is a leading figure in the "new wave" of Valencian winemaking, known for his dedication to the preservation of rare indigenous grape varieties and working with a gentle hand in the winery. Growing up in a family that runs one of Spain’s most prestigious vine nurseries, supplying iconic estates like Vega Sicilia, Cambra brings a deep viticultural pedigree to his own project, established in 2001. His winemaking philosophy has gradually shifted from a traditional style to a more "hands-off" approach, utilizing organic farming, wild yeasts, and diverse aging vessels including egg-shaped concrete tanks, all in the quest to let the terroir speak. His 2023 “Soplo” Garnacha, made from 80% Garnacha, blended together with Monastrell and the rare Forcallà variety, is a vibrant, pure expression of this rugged Mediterranean region, balancing brooding bramble fruit notes with spicy, herbaceous undertones of wild fennel frond and dried oregano. Soplo translates to "breath" or "gust", and this wine is just that – a fresh approach to both Garnacha and Valencian wines. Favoring a slightly darker fruit profile than most Spanish Garnachas, with tart blackberry and juicy black currant notes, it also has the gently gripping tannins that make it an excellent option for pairing with a cheese and cured meats, or even grilled meats. And at under $15, this is a no brainer to pick up by the case to have on hand for quiet nights in!

2020 Domaine de Chevalier Rouge, Pessac-Léognan
Reviwer Picture By: Gary Westby | Review Date: 1/14/2026 | Send Email
What an incredible bottle of Bordeaux! While this wine is dark and has an explosive nose of cassis and clean Pessac gravel, it remains very elegant in the mouth. This is the trick that only the best vineyards can perform, richness without heaviness, power with grace- balance. If you love Bordeaux, this is a great bottle to put in the cellar!

Focused and refined, this Puligny-Montrachet captures the village's tension and clarity. Notes of lemon oil, ripe orchard fruit, and white blossom unfold alongside a distinct chalky minerality. The palate is poised and precise, with bright acidity framing a subtle, savory richness through the mid-palate. The finish is long, clean, and unmistakably Puligny. A classic expression that manages to be both serious and dangerously drinkable.

2022 Martin Ray Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon
Reviwer Picture By: Ryan Woodhouse | Review Date: 1/14/2026 | Send Email
We have an incredible trio of sub-AVA Cabs from Martin Ray on offer today. For many years Martin Ray have sourced exceptional parcels of fruit from across Napa Valley in beyond based on decades of relationships in the business. The Diamond Mountain, Howell Mountain, and Mount Veeder bottlings represent the pinnacle of their production sourcing the best-of-the-best barrels for the small-production, AVA specific wines. The Howell Mountain bottling comes from one of the highest elevation sites on the mountain sitting above 2,200ft. The vines grow in compressed volcanic ash, or "tuff", lending explosive aromatics and a distinctive minerality to the wine. The vineyard's reputation dates back to it's first planting back in the 1950s. The current vines are fully mature at 30-years of age and producing highly concentrated fruit. Classic Howell fruit with blackcurrant, plum, graphite, espresso, suave and sophisticated oak tones meld with the lush, deep fruit. Broad and powerful with great underlying mineral tones and a muscular structure for 10+ years of ageing potential. What an amazing price for this single vineyard Howell Mountain Cab! Our long relationship with Martin Ray allows us to bring you these incredible wines, with massive scores to you at very reasonable price points. Enjoy!

2022 Martin Ray Mount Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon

We have an incredible trio of sub-AVA Cabs from Martin Ray on offer today. For many years Martin Ray have sourced exceptional parcels of fruit from across Napa Valley in beyond based on decades of relationships in the business. The Diamond Mountain, Howell Mountain, and Mount Veeder bottlings represent the pinnacle of their production sourcing the best-of-the-best barrels for the small-production, AVA specific wines. The Mount Veeder bottling comes from a highly renowned but non disclosed site off Wall Road in the northern part of the AVA. This site has long produced some of the most highly acclaimed wines from the region. The wine is fermented in small, open-top fermenters, punched down by hand, and gently basket pressed. The wine is handled gently so as to not over extract the wine and overwhelm the incredible detailed nuances of the site. Ageing for the Veeder sees a more modest 50% new French oak for 18 months. The wine is a very classic expression of Veeder with mountain chaparral, cedar, leather and crushed volcanic rock intermingled with a more red fruited profile. Serious and structured but with elegant, long chain tannins. I love Veeder Cab for its retention and even amplification of the savory aspects of the grape that I love so much in Bordeaux and other cooler climate regions where it's grown. The vines here sit at significant elevation and the daytime highs are significantly cooler than the valley floor below. So, even in warm vintages like 2022, the Cabernet-ness doesn't get ripened out of the grapes. A beautiful wine with a more classically styled flavor profile. Our long relationship with Martin Ray allows us to bring you this incredible wines, with massive scores to you at very reasonable price points. Enjoy!

Elegant without being showy, this Bourgogne Blanc delivers classic Cote d'Or character in a very approachable frame. Ripe pear and yellow apple are layered with subtle citrus, toasted almond, and a whisper of wet stone. The palate is supple yet focused, with well-integrated acidity carrying a gentle creaminess through the mid-palate. The finish is polished, mineral tinged, and persistent. A refined expression of Chardonnay that proves restraint can still be deeply satisfying.

2022 Le Haut Medoc de Giscours, Haut-Médoc
Reviwer Picture By: Aaron Hughes | Review Date: 1/13/2026 | Send Email
Sometimes you come across a wine that just says something to you. This said to me that for $30 you can sure get a hell of a banger bottle of Bordeaux for your table. This is just phenomenal for the price, I already know that most of the 2022 Bordeaux I've had have been just great, but this really feels like it's another level, and for a second wine that's pretty outstanding. Bright and pure cassis on the front, with cherry and bramble on the back of the nose. The palate is generous and lush, beautiful fruit, but with enough tannin that you really want a little fat, a little food, to make it just perfect. At least I did, but I'm kind of a tannin wuss sometimes. The fruit on the palate is super pure and lovely, there's oak in the back but it's playing second fiddle and just accentuating the beauty of the wine. This is just one of those bottles I could ramble about for ages, but just know it's a great wine at a great price and you'll have a great time. It's just great.

2020 Domaine de Chevalier Rouge, Pessac-Léognan
Reviwer Picture By: Aaron Hughes | Review Date: 1/13/2026 | Send Email
While this showed really nicely this morning when we opened it, several hours later it's just magnificent. The nose is super plush with raspberry, blackberry, black cherry, and of course a lovely wisp of cassis running through the whole thing. Complementing the fruit is a little green peppercorn, some barrel spices, and a line of minerality in the back. The fruit is dark first, with a brambley core, and an inky tobacco and leather note coming out, showing the first signs of age starting to touch the wine. Don't get me wrong, it has a long way to go and will lay down for years and years to come, but there's a little tertiary just starting to show its pretty little face. The finish is lengthy and a touch savory, ending mostly with a little bit of barrel spice. This is top tier wine, from a top tier producer at a mid-tier price. This wine is most deserving of a fat potato with a nice ribeye and a sufficient green. You owe it to yourself.

2022 Fèlsina Berardenga Chianti Classico

Felsina remains one of the top estates in the Chianti region. They have managed to successfully blend traditional methods and modern techniques with exceptional results. Their 2022 Chianti Classico represents another outstanding wine that showcases the finest qualities of Sangiovese. Rich, flavor-packed berry fruit combined with soft tannins and fresh acidity make this ideal at the dinner table and versatile with a variety of dishes. It's also excellent with firmer cheeses and lighter fare.

2021 Anthill Farms "Bertoli Vineyard" Russian River Valley Old Vine Field Blend
Reviwer Picture By: Ryan Woodhouse | Review Date: 1/12/2026 | Send Email
Today we're offering a one-time deal on a one-off wine. This amazing old vine field blend is such a unique and interesting offering. Sourced from a century old planting of vines in the Russian River Valley of mixed varietals all interplanted with one another. The vineyard is farmed organically and without irrigation. The blend for this wine includes roughly equal parts Alicante Bouschet, Carignane, Grenache, Mourvèdre, and Zinfandel. Anthill owner / winemaker Anthony Filiberti took this old vine fruit and fermented it whole-cluster and partially using carbonic maceration (sealed tank) to create a unique expression of this historic vineyard. While most old vine blends of this type are big, rich, ripe wines, the Anthill Bertoli is notably medium bodied, with brighter fruit, floral spice tones, and a very modest 12% alcohol. It reminds me a little of the more elegant style of Nebbiolo with it's subtle power and aromatic lift. The wine still has depth and substance, and the 20% Alicante Bouchet means the color is still pretty intense and deep, but it's really fun to see what these old vines without the 15% alcohol and fruit ripeness that one might expect. I think its a wonderfully versatile wine for pizza, pasta, BBQ, burgers. Oh, and our Insider's Advantage price, for such a unique wine, under $20...that's half price and moves it right into the everyday drinker category. This is rocking wine for the price and little piece of history in a bottle.

2022 Fèlsina Berardenga Chianti Classico
Reviwer Picture By: Aaron Hughes | Review Date: 1/11/2026 | Send Email
Very pretty almost slightly translucent in the glass, it's just this really gorgeous kind of deep blood ruby color. Remember, you drink with your eyes first. The nose just smells super classic in the best of ways, there's this dusky bramble-fruit and cherry compote note that dominates the front and then just a little bit of tomato leaf, and a high toned bright red note in the very back that mingles and mixes with some purple florals. The palate is bright with a little bit of tobacco at the very front that quickly gives way to bright red cherry and raspberry, but also some darker notes, black cherry and a little touch of blackberry but not too much. Then the acidity takes over the palate and cleans the way through, the tannins are relatively soft and incredibly approachable, the acidity easily winning the fight. This is such a stellar and drinkable bottle for just $20, it's got everything you want your Chianti to have and has this really gorgeous purity of fruit. Such a QPR King.

Paul Clouet Bouzy Grand Cru Blanc de Noirs Brut Champagne

This wine is exceptional. There's no other way to put it. Golden in the glass, rich and concentrated on the nose, and full of sourdough and citrus on the palate. The acidity here is stunning, and it's balanced against notes of rich brioche, lemon-curd, and almond paste. The finish goes on and on, the citrus and nuttiness just lingering...not helped by the fact that I can't stop sipping. This bottle is grand cru fruit with 8 years on the lees, and all from a base-vintage of 2012! I cannot recommend this bottle highly enough.

Torabhaig Signature Reserve K&L Exclusive Single Cask #2018 Single Malt Scotch Whisky (750ml)
Reviwer Picture By: David Othenin-Girard | Review Date: 1/9/2026 | Send Email
The gorgeous new Torabhaig distillery on the Isle of Skye is without a doubt one of Scotland's most exciting new distillers. Not only have they built a distillery that looks like it's been there for centuries, but they've created a malt that's completely unique while still capturing the rugged sense of place that exemplifies this special island. We were early adopters and their young whiskies have been extremely approachable, but when a chance to do a single cask was offered, we absolutely jumped at the chance. Their cask policy is rather unique and they have some interesting wood types to choose from, but something about the beauty of a medium peater in an excellent first fill bourbon was too alluring to ignore. Let's have at it. The color is dull old gold (0.6). The nose absolutely piercing the air throughout the room, immediately offering aromas of dense white smoke, salted lemons, ocean spray, lanolin, pithy citrus fruit, oily nuts, capers, etc. With air, the smoke softens and the salt and lemon zest come forward adding thinly sliced serrano, Castelvetrano olives, sweet barley syrup, brine. On the palate, the peat is at the very front and hangs on to those green brine-y notes, but the sweet malt powers up in the mid pallet and continues through to a laser focused finish of burning herbs, lemon oil, and ashy smoke. Water addition adds another layer of maritime complexity - now crushed oyster shells- plus an almost tropical (dare I say) Bowmore like pineapple and mango, salted and smoked. By contrast the pallet relents the green brine-y notes and give so much sweet fruit and malt now. A fabulous spirit of exceptional character. This is NOT one to miss.

2020 La Gaffelière, St-Émilion
Reviwer Picture By: Ryan Moses | Review Date: 1/9/2026 | Send Email
La Gaffelière is one of our favorites at K&L, and while this vintage has somehow flown a bit under the radar for them, it’s about as great as it gets from this estate. Dual 98-point scores call it “the energy of an atomic bomb” and “nothing short of thrilling,” and I’ll add that our current price is borderline ridiculous for what it delivers. With prime Right Bank real estate bordering Ausone, La Gaffelière makes the most of the 2020 vintage—a potential all-timer for Saint-Émilion. It combines the concentration of the growing season, the minerality of its terroir, and an appealing brightness all at once. Aromatically compelling, it offers a core of red fruit layered with mouthwatering acidity. A beautiful texture lends a sense of luxury, while fine tannins provide character and structure without sacrificing elegance. All the best of La Gaffelière is on display here, and at our current retail price (with perfect property-direct provenance), it stands as a poster child for exceptional value in Bordeaux.

2022 Smith Haut Lafitte Rouge, Pessac-Léognan
Reviwer Picture By: Ryan Moses | Review Date: 1/9/2026 | Send Email
Frankly, it’s a bit surprising that there isn’t more of a groundswell around this extraordinary, reference-point Smith Haut Lafitte—but all the better for collectors. You have a multiple 100-point wine from a singular vintage available at a remarkable first-tranche price. Jeb Dunnuck compares it to the 2009, 2010, and 2020 as one of the greatest wines ever produced by the estate, and after tasting it, there’s little room for doubt. Aromatically, it is nothing short of stunning, offering deep, layered fruits alongside notes of licorice and wet stone. On the palate, it initially shows itself as a classic Pessac powerhouse, driven by black currant, gravel, and dark chocolate. Yet with time in the glass, a deeper story unfolds: remarkable finesse and purity emerge, supported by unrelenting minerality, incredibly fine-grained tannins, and a profound sense of character and place. This is a wine that rewards patience and contemplation, inviting you to linger—and if you’re anything like me, you’ll find yourself increasingly infatuated with each successive sip. It’s often difficult to single out a “best” wine from an estate that operates at such a consistently elite level as Smith Haut Lafitte, but the 2022 stands apart as something truly special. It is a wine destined to thrill Bordeaux lovers for decades to come, and one that will undoubtedly earn its place among the estate’s modern legends.

Little Book "Edition II: The Infinite" Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey (750ml)
Reviwer Picture By: Josh Gelfand | Review Date: 1/8/2026 | Send Email
Seeing an official release of an “infinity bottle” is still a fairly new concept in the bourbon world. The practice, much like a personal solera, involves a never-ending bottle or barrel that is partially emptied and then topped back up with new whiskey. The spirit is constantly evolving while always retaining some portion of the original liquid. Pour some out, top it off, lather, rinse, repeat. I have one at home, I started one at a former bar I lead that is still going strong eight or nine years later, and I encourage any whisk(e)y fan to try it as a fun experiment and a living ledger of your liquid legacy. Here we have the second edition of the legendary Noe family’s take on the concept. This blend brings together some of grandfather Booker’s bourbon, some of father Fred’s, and some of current master distiller Freddie’s. The combination differs from the first edition and offers a tasting of both the Noe family’s lineage and the history of the Jim Beam company in a single, stellar bottle. Blending young and mature whiskies can be tricky. Older liquid can overwhelm with woody tannins, while younger, brighter spirit can overpower the more rounded notes of age. This one comes together beautifully. It is deep, robust, and far spicier than expected, especially considering Booker’s typically high-corn mashbill. Cinnamon leads the nose, followed by dense wet oak, burnt caramel, stewed peaches, and a potpourri-like bouquet. On the palate, it moves gracefully between sweet and dry, opening with rich blackstrap molasses and dried plum before shifting into weathered mahogany and leather. The finish brings black cherry compote and dense barrel char, with baking spices weaving from start to finish. A small splash of water unlocks fresh roasted peanuts and blackberry jam, along with softer spices and a note of toasted pumpernickel, a welcome settling of the 120.4 proof. Overall, this is a dense, spicy, and complex bourbon that celebrates the infinite legacy of three generations from one of Kentucky’s most important bourbon families.

2020 Domaine de Chevalier Rouge, Pessac-Léognan
Reviwer Picture By: Ryan Moses | Review Date: 1/8/2026 | Send Email
For a high-upside, collectible value Bordeaux, Domaine de Chevalier is usually a go-to name in the conversation. This 2020 is a case in point, and perhaps one of the best ever from the estate. There is a richness and texture to it, but the purity and freshness of the fruit is what really shines through. Deep red to black fruit flavors surround a core of gravelly minerality, a thirst-quenching wine that leaves you coming back for more. I've had the fortune to taste it a few times this year, and each time was left impressed by how rewarding and drinkable it is even an this extremely young stage. That said, in a cool cellar this will evolve beautifully for the years to come. I'm excited to continue to revisit this one as it evolves, and at our going rate, it's not too tough to get a few bottles to do so. Congrats to the team at Domaine de Chevalier for this brilliant achievement.

The 2024 Bera "Canelli" Moscato d'Asti is a stark reminder that when grown and vinified with respect, Moscato is one of the world's great wines. This bottle is the antithesis of the mass-produced, industrial examples that flood the market. This is a "serious" wine that happens to be sweet. It is the ultimate celebration wine, perfect for finishing a meal with hazelnut cake or simply enjoying on its own as a refreshing mid-afternoon treat. A benchmark for the category.

2022 Château de Beauregard Pouilly-Fuissé 1er Cru "Vers Cras"

The flagship wine of the estate, the 2022 Château de Beauregard Pouilly-Fuissé 1er Cru "Vers Cras" is an absolute stunner. Layers of beautiful orchard fruits seamlessly mingle with hints of wet stone while the palate is a lively blend of pure fruit, earth, and bright acidity. Full-bodied and complex, this is a wonderful 1er cru white Burgundy for under $45 and is a great insight into the terrific wines being made at Château de Beauregard by the Joseph Burrier family.

2023 La Chablisienne Collaboration Estate Chablis "Cuvee Centenaire"

This new K&L exclusive release really surprised me, I tend to think of Chablis as something a little more laid back, but this one had a lot more richness and depth than I expected for just $25. Sometimes at first sip you know you found an amazing deal, and this overdelivers in every way that matters. Such purity of fruit, the mineral finish, and the great balance of richness and acid make it an easy choice for me.

This is a wine that explains why people enjoy Petit Chablis so much. It's easy, with a classic albeit ripe nose, and it's got enough acidity and body to have with whatever you best like to eat. There's a good amount of minerality and a long finish. I'm going to pick up one of these and try it with a roast chicken salad, I'll let you know how it is if you ask me in store.

The nose is really classic, but I mean this in the best of ways. It's got a real sense of familiarity when you stick your nose in, the brain clicks and goes oh yes, I know this particular creature, in fact we've met before. Well, I guess it's a wine not a creature, but the whole sentiment still stands. Really pretty ripe apple, a little bit of warm pear, and then some pithy citrus zest and white flowers. The palate has this beautiful depth to it that you could almost fall into, and then once you get there it has a bit more weight on the palate, really giving me what I'm looking for here. I absolutely love this bottle and I can already tell I'm going to be taking a few home for sure. I think I'm going to try it with sushi first, I don't know if that's a controversial choice or not but there's a savory note that lingers on the finish that is giving me some strong umami vibes.

So cool that we have another private label wine, and even better that I like it this much. The nose opens generously, just a little touch of something tropical that almost seems to blow away before coming in with a lot more classic apple/pear with citrus behind it. The palate is decidedly fresh and vibrant, dancing across the palate this great line of acidity with a chalky wake behind it pushes inexorably through until the finish. There's this richness on the palate that is just really so inviting and keeps making me go back for another sip, there's a weight and gravitas to this that I don't expect from a Petit Chablis, and this will be an incredibly easy bottle to put into people's hands.

What an incredible value in Chablis! Alex Pross did an incredible job in selecting the right partner and the right lots for this exceptional Petit Chablis, and I was impressed with just how much texture, vivacity and length this bottle delivered for under $20. If you are looking for a great, clean bottle of white wine for a very fair price, look no further!

2023 Domaine Gérard Tremblay Chablis 1er Cru "Montmain"
Reviwer Picture By: Alex Pross | Review Date: 1/4/2026 | Send Email
The vineyard of Montmains is large and produces notably complex Chablis that ages extremely well. The 2023 Gerard Tremblay Chablis 1er Cru "Montmains" is a great example of the depth and complexity that this vineyard can deliver under a masterful winemaker such as Vincent Tremblay. The wine is rich with notes of white flowers, hazelnut, flint and citrus notes while the palate is bright and lively with hits of citrus and orchard fruits that seamlessly run from the front palate all the way to the finish. A classic example of a great Chablis vineyard.

2023 Domaine Gérard Tremblay Chablis 1er Cru "Beauroy"
Reviwer Picture By: Alex Pross | Review Date: 1/4/2026 | Send Email
The vineyard of Beauroy shares many similarities with that of Cote de Lechet as far as exposure and ripening which imbues it with rich fruit and power. Beauroy may lack some of the finesse and cut that Cote de Lechet has but it makes up for it with deeper core of fruit and power. Bursting at the seams with citrus and stone notes with hints of orchard fruits the 2023 Gerard Tremblay is a great crossover for the California Chardonnay drinker.

Cote de Lechet is a rather large vineyard that is perfectly exposed to the south-east. Here the fruit ripens early and produces wines of intense white fruit with floral hints . The 2023 Domaine Gerard Tremblay is a great example of why Cote de Lechet is so sought after with white flowers, flint and hints of lemon and grapefruit while the palate is bursting with rich citrus notes and subtle hints of flint and stone. This is a ready to drink, full-bodied Chablis bursting with pretty fruit that is impossible to ignore.

2021 Corison Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Reviwer Picture By: Kerry Kennell | Review Date: 1/4/2026 | Send Email
From wine industry doyenne Cathy Corison, the 2021 Corison Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon marks her 35th-anniversary bottling. She’s one where I have to stay disciplined whenever I taste her wines so my admiration won’t override an honest assessment. Aged for 20 months in 50% new French oak barrels, this is unmistakably a Corison wine—neatly structured and finely composed, with fresh notes of blackberry and elderberry, hints of resinous juniper and sun-dried summer bramble, and a long, graceful finish of blackberries and violets. Clean, refreshing acidity and polite tannins make it a natural fit for an elegant meal that doesn’t require a fatty steak; lighter fare and more subtle flavors will shine here. After all, we’re adults and can admit that we pair food with wine, not the other way around.

2023 Ramey Russian River Valley Chardonnay
Reviwer Picture By: Kerry Kennell | Review Date: 1/3/2026 | Send Email
When I think of the best examples of California-styled Chardonnay, Ramey immediately comes to mind—they’re simply that reliable. Measured and structured, the 2023 Ramey Russian River Valley Chardonnay is redolent with caramel apple, golden flaky pastry, and baking spices, finishing with a subtle touch of jasmine blossom. It’s a lush and satisfying mouthful of deliciousness. I adore it, and that’s all there is to it.

2023 Anonymous Wine Collective Santa Cruz Mountains Chardonnay

Given its evocative complexity, it makes total sense that this wine is built by a fabled "Anonymous" producer from estate-grown Santa Cruz Mountains Chardonnay. Sunny and feminine, it’s effortlessly drinkable, radiating golden hour in late summer—crisp, juicy Gravenstein apple, candied Meyer lemon, and soft wisps of orange blossom. Dry and flavorful, yet light on its feet, it feels carefree—a smile from an enchanting stranger on the beach at sundown—windswept and charming.

Duménil 1er Cru "Réserve #26" Brut Champagne

Well, we are starting the New Year off on a high point! I tried this on 2 January and what a very happy surprise this was. There is a lot going on. Bright citrus with soft lemon cream and curd flavors, shortbread, granny smith apples, and a little bit of orange creamsicle. Speaking of creamy, the mousse on this bottling is excellent! The Reserve 26 finishes clean and very crisp. I imagine that pretty much any lover of champagne should fully enjoy this new release from Dumenil.

2022 Le "C" des Carmes Haut-Brion, Pessac-Léognan
Reviwer Picture By: Ryan Moses | Review Date: 1/2/2026 | Send Email
Le “C” des Carmes Haut-Brion is quickly becoming one of the greatest second wines in the region. For me, the perfect recipe is a mix of pedigree, house character, and a rewarding price—something this 2022 delivers in spades. The Grand Vin for this vintage notched three 100-point scores, making it clear that the team made the most of the growing season, but even this wine benefits from grand-vin-quality press, for what it’s worth. I also believe the secret lies in the estate’s boutique scale and relatively limited production, which lends a hand-crafted quality that shines through in “C” des Carmes. It’s this no-compromise approach that makes Guillaume Pouthier’s wines feel so genuine and distinctive across the board. While most of the Cabernet Franc goes into the Grand Vin, Cabernet Sauvignon steals the show in “C” des Carmes, though the fresh, lively character of the estate still provides an unmistakable signature. For those looking to experience the magic happening at this property, I can’t recommend the 2022 “C” des Carmes Haut-Brion enough—a remarkable buy already, and one that I suspect will reward those with bottles in their cellar for many years to come.

2019 Clif Family "Cold Springs Vineyard" Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon

It's not everyday that we get 95-point, single vineyard, estate-grown and bottled Howell Mountain Cab for 50% off! But that is exactly what were offering today! The Clif Family (yep the folks behind those delicious granola bars) have quietly been acquiring great vineyards around Napa Valley for a decade. With sustainability being a core focus for the family, their vineyards are certified CCOF organic and the company is certified BCorp. After graduating from UC Davis and learning her craft at the renowned Fisher Vineyards, winemaker Laura Barrett has now been at the helm of Clif Family for 12 years. Cold Spring Vineyard is located on the southern side of Howell Mountain (the opposite orientation to Croquet Vineyard) at 1,660ft elevation. The soils here are dominated by compressed volcanic ash or tuff. This wine screams Howell Mountain to me with an impenetrable color in the glass, a dark, smoky, almost black fruit profile, graphite, cigar box, crushed rocks. The saturated fruit is draped over muscular, mountain-fruit tannins. Mountain chapparal and briar patch notes add complexity to the heart of darkness core. Wow, this wine is very impressive, and our pricing is just incredible for the quality. Only 300 cases total production. Act fast, this is a truly incredible deal at our very special, 50% off Insider's Advantage pricing!

After graduating from UC Davis and learning her craft at the renowned Fisher Vineyards, winemaker Laura Barrett has now been at the helm of Clif Family for 12 years. The Croquet Vineyard Cab comes from just 3 acres of Clone 337 Cabernet planted on a steep hillside on the northeastern slope of Howell Mountain at 1,800 ft elevation. The soils here are iron rich, red, volcanic clay loam. This site produces a concentrated but lush style of Cabernet with rich cassis fruit, ollaberry, hints of vanilla and exotic oak spice. The palate has plenty of structure and tannin to measure up to the bold fruit profile. The wine is full-bodied with a big, decadent mouthfeel. This is classic Howell Mountain with a nice polished fruit profile allowing enjoyment from a relatively young stage. However, as their top wines from the very best estate selections and barrels, these wines are also designed to go the distance and will no doubt age 15-20 years in the cellar.

Duménil 1er Cru "Réserve #26" Brut Champagne
Reviwer Picture By: Gary Westby | Review Date: 12/31/2025 | Send Email
This champagne hails from Chigny-les-Roses, the village made famous by Jay Z’s Armand de Brignac brand and the grower J. Lassalle. This champagne is composed of one third each Chardonnay, Meunier and Pinot Noir that is all tank fermented. While half of the wine comes from the 2021 harvest, the other half is from a massive solera that was started all the way back in 1996. This bottle has at least a little bit of 25 different vintages in it, and the effortless complexity that this incredible solera ageing has given it makes it one of the standout values this year. I love the wine for the creamy, baguette framed aromatics, the round texture in the mouth, the fine bead and the fresh, dry finish. Take your time with this one- it is very easy to drink as an aperitif, but the depth is off the charts if you take a moment to look for it.

Duménil 1er Cru "Réserve #26" Brut Champagne

Really pretty nose with a lot of white flowers, lemon peel, lemon candy, and a kind of high toned apple/pear compote with lemon curd on the side. This really has a lot of promise, I typically like Dumenil and this is already presenting so prettily. The palate is just a touch richer than I expected, verging on cocktail Champagne, and there's nothing wrong with that it's a style of Champagne I enjoy quite a lot, along with a really soft pear and a bright crisp apple there's several types of lemon again, there's lemon flowers, lemon card, lemon peel, and a little more lemon curd. Not that it's overly citrus, it's just that the citrus is so complex and multidimensional, it's just kind of impressive. The palate finishes off with more white flowers, and this dense chalky touch right near where the finish ends, it's just really enjoyable. Definitely highly recommended.

2022 Domaine des Sénéchaux Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Reviwer Picture By: Keith Mabry | Review Date: 12/31/2025 | Send Email
When the Cazes family of Château Lynch-Bages took over this historic property in 2006, little changed in terms of winemaking philosophy or vineyard selection. The estate has long been famous for producing just two wines—one white and one red—and that focused tradition continues to this day. Veteran winemaker Bernard Tranchecoste, who was already overseeing the cellar prior to the Cazes family’s arrival, remains at the helm. The resources brought by the Cazes family have been directed primarily toward vineyard improvements, including thoughtful replanting and new parcels that are now coming beautifully into production. Surrounded by the Bois des Sénéchaux (the “Sheriff’s Woods”), the property itself dates back to the 14th century, grounding these refined, modern wines in deep historical roots. Aging is carried out in larger-format wood, not to impart overt oak character, but to add elegance and refinement to the wines. The 2022—an excellent vintage—shows beautiful notes of wild strawberry, redcurrant, Asian spicebox, and pipe tobacco. It is a beautifully structured wine that drinks effortlessly in its youth while possessing the depth and balance to age gracefully for a decade or more.
