The 2021 Ada Nada Valeriano has a beautiful nose featuring violet, crushed mint, dark berry, tilled earth, leather and forest floor. Full-bodied elegant, the delicious palate offers juicy red cherry, blood orange, star anise and mocha before closing on a hint of mint. It’s vibrant and balanced, with bright acidity and taut, fine-grained tannins.

Intense cinnamon spice on the nose, together with vibrant aromas of cherry jelly and pressed flowers. Medium-bodied with a graceful attack, firm light tannins and crisp, brilliant and juicy acidity that packs a punch. Overall it’s crunchy in style. Licorice in the aftertaste.

Those wanting to explore the world of Barolo without waiting 10+ years for current release offerings to reach drinkability should take note of the 2021 Ada Nada "Valeriano" Barbaresco. Made from the same Nebbiolo variety that brought Barolo to fame but from the nearby Barbaresco subregion of Piemonte, the "Valeriano" is a perfect example of the heights that Nebbiolo can reach without the astronomical price tag of well-aged examples. Intense aromas of crushed dried violets, black cherry, and blood orange leap from the glass. The palate carries similar intensity and is packed with dried flowers, crushed berries, clove, and coffee bean. Nebbiolo's signature high acidity is on full display and carries the wine's dusty tannins, making for an incredibly drinkable wine.

Another stunner from the 2021 vintage in Barbaresco. Ada Nada is quietly making some of the great, over-delivering Barbarescos year to year, and this Valeirano is another terrific example of this superb Treiso site. Beautiful aromatics lead the way, with rose, blood orange, and a hint of new leather. On the palate, it is beautifully textured, with mouthwatering red fruits, orange oil, fine powdery tannins, and a long, fruit driven finish. Impressively textured and very expressive, it captures the character of the site and vintage wonderfully. At our current release pricing, it'll be one to load up on and a joy to have around for the years to come.

Notes

The 2021 vintage from Ada Nada, and the Barbaresco Valeirano is a standout. This vintage is shaping up to be exceptional across Barbaresco, with ideal growing conditions that have resulted in wines of remarkable clarity and precision. The Valeirano vineyard, known for its steep slopes and excellent sun exposure, has produced a wine that beautifully balances power and finesse. At this price point, it's an absolute steal offering serious quality and aging potential without breaking the bank. Whether you're a seasoned Barbaresco lover or just starting to explore, the 2021 Ada Nada Barbaresco Valeirano is not to be missed.
