Reviewed October 2022Lemony, crisp, and very delicate, the Bourgogne Blanc from Domaine Paul Pillot is an unqualified success. The texture is ethereal, but a core of tension brings length and substance. This elegant wine is produced from various parcels in and around Chassagne. The grapes are lightly crushed and fermented in large, older oak casks. Although it will be refreshingly accessible young, this is substantial enough to hold for several years—a top value. (CC)

Vinous
The 2021 Bourgogne Chardonnay has a taut and quite steely bouquet, nicely focused with more energy than some Premier Crus! The palate is very well balanced and sports a subtle reduction, fine weight with light tropical fruit towards the finish. (NM)

Moderate reduction knocks down the fruit though there is both good freshness and verve to the nicely textured middleweight flavors that deliver better than average depth and persistence on the balanced, clean and refreshing finale. This attractively dry effort also offers fine development potential and overall, this is recommended. *Burghound Outstanding!*

Pale colour tense reductive nose. Vivid tense light apple fruit, a bit of confection behind but good concentration. Drink from 2024-2026.
