Reviewed September 2023This features a deep well of fruit -- and it's pretty gorgeous, with mulberry, plum and blackberry notes all mixed together. There's also subtle apple wood, licorice and black tea nuances in the background, plus a solid spine providing support through the finish. A very well-rendered wine that's set up for a bit more evolution too. (JM)

The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon is a very pretty wine. It has always been on the lighter side, but it has aged very well nonetheless. Dark cherry, tobacco, spice and leather lend notable complexity. The 2013 remains quite young. (AG)

The aromas offer a mix of savoury characteristics with fresh black berries and plums. There is a light note of dark chocolate and light spice that is well integrated. Together they bring depth and density to the palate as well as vibrant fresh acidity and a lightly tactile, fine-grained tannin. The wine still has enough tension to benefit from decanting and will age a very long time. 2013 is regarded as one of Napa Valley’s most structural vintages. That character shows here but Peschon has also brought an elegant expression of a powerful vintage, which is impressive. This wine drinks with power moving through grace. 17.5+/20 points (ECB)
