The 2015 Lespault-Martillac is plump, forward and juicy. Mint, sweet herbs and licorice add further shades of nuance, but ultimately, the 2015 is a wine built on forward fruit. This succulent, open-knit Pessac-Léognan should drink well early. The 2015 is an attractive wine, but it also lacks a bit of depth and continuity, something that is especially apparent on the finish. Tight tannins, full extraction and very modern. Ripe coffee fruit and grippy tannins; plenty to enjoy. One of the bigger expressions of the vintage.

The 2015 Château Lespault-Martillac is also outstanding, although it doesn’t match the quality of the white. Smoke tobacco, blackcurrants, truffle and plenty of classic Graves earthiness all emerge from this ripe, medium to full-bodied, voluptuously textured red that’s going to drink nicely for 8-10 years.
