The 2015 Ducru-Beaucaillou is very reminiscent of the style of the vintage with dark berry aromas, smoky notes, spices, liquorice, and graphite. Very elegant oaky frame with air. On the palate, there is both unctuosity and freshness, but also an animal note and sappy, velvety tannins. The imposing tannic structure has yet to smooth out, but underneath there is remarkable depth and substance. It will take some time for this racy thoroughbred to hit its stride. (YC)

The 2015 Château Ducru-Beaucaillou composed of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Merlot. It begins with absolutely stunning aromatics dark cherries and crème de cassis along with graphite, spring florals, minerals and tobacco which soar from the glass. On the palate this is every bit as striking, as it displays outstanding overall depth an concentration, with a beautiful velvety texture and tremendous length on the finish. Overall, this is an absolutely beautifully made wine, which will certainly have a long, graceful evolution ahead. (JD)

Aromas of oyster shell, iron and currants. Hints of iodine. Full-bodied, very tight and focused. Love the finish of sandalwood, cinnamon, violets and lavender. Wonderful tannin texture. Linear and driven.

Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, the 2015 Ducru-Beaucaillou is provocatively and profoundly scented of chocolate-covered cherries, fresh black currants, crushed blueberries and licorice with touches of cigar box, roses and violets plus hints of black pepper and tapenade. Medium to full-bodied, rich and sultry with tons of seductive layers and firm, wonderfully velvety tannins, it has a very long, multilayered finish. (LPB)
