The 2025 Albariño Kristy Vineyard is so effusive and enticing. Broad-shouldered, tropical and nearly electric in feel, the 2025 delivers salty, vivacious energy with confidence and drive. The acidity is high, that much is for sure, but there’s so much character and charm here. What a fabulous testament to this variety in this part of the world. (BN)
A rarity in California, the 2025 Cachudo Arinto La Marea Pierce Ranch is a celebration of Arinto, a grape that handles heat and heavier soils well and can carry crisp acidity through the extreme heat. Winemaker Ian Brand makes the case here for its deliciousness too, the third vintage from Pierce Ranch, both barrel and stainless-fermented for eight months on the lees. Delicious in slatey pear and a lightness of spice, drink now through 2035.
Known as Garnacha in Spain, Grenache has centuries-old roots on the Iberian Peninsula and is now cultivated across California. La Marea’s 2022 expression comes from the Central Coast, with its Monterey and Carmel Valley provenance placing this historic Mediterranean grape in a distinctive coastal California setting.
A delicate, well-balanced Prosecco, showing a good blend of baked apple, sour lemon and grapefruit, with a lightly creamy mineral texture on the palate. Medium froth, with some body and a pleasant lemon and mineral finish. Drink now.

Prosecco Rosé follows defined DOC rules: Glera is blended with 10–15% Pinot Nero, and secondary fermentation must last at least 60 days. La Marca presents the Italian sparkling style here in a compact 187ml bottle, a convenient format for a single pour or small celebration.
20% stems have been added back into La Montagne No. There is no great depth of colour, tiled at the rim, but rather a fine hillside bouquet, with classic pure red fruit behind, a little touch of acidity, and fine length. Getting into good territory here. Drink from 2028-2031. Tasted Nov 2025.
Mid ruby colour. An elegant red berry fruit of medium density. Then La Montagne builds very nicely on the palate with some darker cherry and raspberry fruit, a good baseline acidity and some length. Clearly more of a hillside wine. It’s in the name! Drink from 2027-2030. Tasted Dec 2024.

The 2023 Marsannay Blanc La Charme Aux Prêtres (80% of which used to comprise the "Source des Roches" cuvée) has a perfumed, minerally bouquet that exudes energy. Edgy in style, the palate is very well balanced with a saline entry. Notes of sour lemon and orange rind carry through the oily-textured finish that shows plenty of extract. Very fine.(NM)

The 2022 Château La Tour De Mons is a blend of 57% Merlot, 36% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Cabernet Franc, and 3% Petit Verdot. It’s a beautifully ripe Margaux offering notes of red and blue fruits, rose petals, and background spicy oak. Medium to full-bodied, it’s beautifully balanced, with fine tannins and an elegant, seamless mouthfeel. Aged in 20% new oak for 12 months, it’s a classic, well-made Margaux that should evolve gracefully over the next 15+ years.
The 2023 Maranges La Fussières 1er Cru Rouge is blended with 30% whole bunch. This has an understated bouquet with light earthy red fruit with sous-bois and mineral scents. It opens succinctly in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with finely chiseled tannins, very poised, airy and transparent yet with real weight and presence on the finish. Bon vin!(NM)
Black cherry and berry character with plenty of cedar and walnut aromas and flavors. It’s full and rather juicy with a solid backbone of tannins. Flavorful finish. Give it three or four years to soften and open. Muscular second wine. Try after 2025.
Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2020 La Tour de Mons delivers impactful, classic notes of cassis, cedar, and dried bay leaves with hints of cumin seed, fallen leaves, and fertile loam. Medium-bodied, the palate is elegant and refreshing with fine-grained tannins and a lifted finish. (LPB)

Of the 2006 Rauzan-Ségla, Margaux, Wine Advocate writes: "On the same qualitative level as this estate’s brilliant 2005, but with slightly less sucrosite, this blend of 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 44% Merlot, and the rest Petit Verdot, exhibits a 1986-like personality , a very successful vintage at Rauzan Segla. Its deep ruby/purple hue is accompanied by sweet aromas of bay leaf, black currants, licorice, truffles, and a touch of toast, dazzling fruit, and plenty of ripe, but not astringent tannin. The 2024 Maranges Clos de la Boutière 1er Cru comes from a parcel of 90+ year-old vines from a very old massale selection. This has an open, airy bouquet of shimmering red fruit, plenty of vigour and perhaps the one cuvée that is a little Côte de Nuits in style. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins. Finely structured, a "cool" Maranges that perhaps just needs a tad more complexity to manifest on the finish. But still, this is a classy Maranges that should give over a decade of drinking pleasure like La Fussière.(NM)
The 2023 Maranges Clos de la Boutière 1er Cru comes from the estate's oldest vines, over 90 years old. It has a tightly wound yet finely delineated bouquet with blackberry, wild mint and a touch of potpourri. The medium-bodied palate features pliant tannins that lend a silky texture through to the fleshy finish. Lightly spiced with impressive length, this is another extremely well-crafted Maranges from Bachelet-Monnot.(NM)
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2022 Domaine de la Côte "La Côte" Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir (96WS). Wine Spectator: "This sports dark cherry, currant and raspberry fruit flavors that are mulled in feel, but kept taut and lively by a torrent of acidity, while sage, warm earth, white pepper, savory and flint notes bounce around. Overall a bit sauvage in feel, this is a compelling wine, but needs cellaring to tame it and allow it to stretch out. (JM)" (05/2024)

A blend of Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre and Sangiovese whose proceeds are divided among Stolpman's vineyard workers, the 2023 La Cuadrilla is one of the better values in all California wine. It opens with a beautifully floral, energetic nose supplemented with focused, leathery accents. The palate is plush and succulent, concluding with a quenching, juicy and simply delicious finish framed by fine-grained tannins. Drink 2024-2028
From the winery: "Bright and vibrant ruby hue. Complex nose of incense, black cherry, plums, fig and smoke notes; black pepper and cinnamon. Still showing exuberant youthful fruit, but also shades of the earthy nuances that will surely develop with time in bottle. Pure velvet on the palate; rich and mouth filling, but also elegant and refined."
