The initial nosing passes find subtle traces of charcoal and roasted grain which are followed by sweeter aromas of sweet grain mash and pipe tobacco. Entry is smoky and charred; the midpalate is oily, moderately viscous, semisweet and robust. Ends on a delicious oily, bacon-like note. A very well-made American pot still vodka. *Best Buy*

This Texas straight bourbon made in painfully small batches. This sweet mash comes from high-quality corn, winter wheat, and malted barley. Proofing is done using Texas rainwater collected from the distillery grounds and filtered. This is a labor of love, close to the Texan heart, and at 94 proof, a smooth alternative to Kentucky offerings.

Tito’s Handmade Vodka was founded in Austin by Bert “Tito” Beveridge, who obtained Texas’s first legal distilling permit in 1995. Distilled from corn using pot stills, this Texas vodka is presented here in a compact 100ml format.
