Cedar Ridge’s “The Quintessential” brings a solera approach to Iowa malt whisky. Rather than emptying the blending vessel completely, a solera retains a portion of whisky as fresh additions replenish it, connecting successive releases through a shared reserve.

Cedar Ridge was founded in 2005 near Swisher, becoming Iowa’s first licensed distillery since Prohibition. Its Barrel Proof Iowa Bourbon reflects the state’s deep connection to corn, the grain that must comprise at least 51% of every bourbon mash, and is presented without dilution to a standard bottling proof.
