Bid on this magnum of 2010 Antinori "Tignanello" Toscana (1.5L) (OWC - 96JS, 96VN, 95WE, 94DC, 94RP, 92WS) in original wood. Vinous: "Antinori's 2010 Tignanello is stunning, as it has been since I started tasting the component wines in 2011. Firm yet sweet, silky tannins form the backbone for this gorgeous, vivid wine. Dark red cherries, plums, cloves, mint and sage inform a Tignanello that impresses for its delineation, nuance and power. Clean, saline notes support the mineral-drenched finish. The 2010 isn't huge, but rather is a vertical wine endowed with tremendous energy and vibrancy. I can't remember a Tignanello with this much crystalline tension and pure energy. Simply put, the 2010 Tignanello is a magnificent, towering wine from Antinori. (AG)" (08/2013)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Marcassin "Three Sisters Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (96WS). Wine Spectator: "Presents a rich, unctuous core of fresh earth and herbs, as well as a strong dose of oak, although the wine wears the wood well. Strikingly young and vibrant, this could easily pass for a much younger wine. *Collectible* (JL)" (01/2016)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 Bryant Family Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (99RP, 95VN, 95WS). Wine Advocate: "Teasing the taster with a possible three-digit perfection is the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Pritchard Hill. This beauty shows lots of creme de cassis, blueberry liqueur, spring flower and forest floor notes in an opulent, full-bodied, powerful, dense, rich style buttressed by significant ripe tannins and decent acidity. Again, the striking purity and singular character of this Bryant Cabernet Sauvignon oozes potential as well as pedigree. This spectacular, young Cabernet should turn out to be one of the all-time great Bryant Cabernet Sauvignons, rivaling their 1997, but slightly more structured. (RP)" (10/2013)

An intense, mineral-dominated bouquet evokes nectarine, orange, lemon pith and white flowers, with a chalky topnote. Racy, focused and strikingly pure citrus and orchard fruit flavors are underscored by vibrant mineral and iodine qualities and pick up flesh with aeration. Swaths of tannin give the 2010 a real sense of explosive energy and vibrancy that only builds with time in the glass. A whole range of dark aromas and flavors give the 2010 its brooding, inward personality. Tasted from magnum, the 2010 is very young, but its pedigree is unmistakable. (AG)" (09/2020)

Château du Petit Thouars has a long history in the Chinon appellation dating back to the 16th century. Now run by Sebastien and D'Arcy du Petit Thouars, the 12th-generation owners, the estate is located in the western part of Chinon (formerly Touraine), where the soils have more limestone-clay (and border Saumur-Champigny). The vineyards were not classified as Chinon until 2015, when the appellation was redrawn to include this special terroir. Moving forward all of Petit Thouars' reds and whites will carry the Chinon appellation on their labels. The Cuvée L'Amiral is only produced in the best vintages, a selection of the oldest vines and best parcels. Under the deft hand of Michel Pinard (Charles Joguet's protegée), all grapes are hand-harvested, native yeasts create the fermentation, and the wine ages for a minimum of two years in neutral barrel. A pure expression of Cabernet Franc, this has loads of aromatics, beautiful texture and weight, and is sure to be recognized as one of the great wines of the region. *Organic*

This was phenomenal from barrel and remains so. The aromas are spellbinding. It smells like a bouquet of pink roses and then goes to currants, berries and citrus. Full body, with wonderfully refined tannins. It starts discretely and then grows to different levels and dimensions like a slow but big high tide. The texture is so beautiful.
Obviously wood-aged, with a smoky toast flavor, this is a wine that shows the power of Saint-Estèphe tannins in full force. At the same time, there is a blackberry character that adds richness and juiciness, which cuts through the dry core. Age for at least 7–8 years.
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Lucien Le Moine Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru "Les Amoureuses" ((94-97ST), (93-95BH), (92-94RP)). Int'l Wine Cellar: "Good red-ruby. Knockout nose melds dark berries, violet, rose petal and crushed stone. Dense, taut and brilliantly delineated; an essence of pinot noir, with wonderfully aromatic, intense flavors of tangy dark berries, stone and smoky minerality. Perhaps most impressive today on the pungent, slowly building back end, which delivers uncanny spicy grip and leaves the mouth drenched in floral perfume." (01/2012)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Kongsgaard Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (94RP, 94VN, 92ST, 92WS). Vinous: "The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon is dark, rich and explosive. Mocha, plums, dark cherries, tobacco, new leather and licorice all jump from the glass. The 2010 is intense and powerful, but it is also a bit closed in on itself, with less overall exuberance and a greater impression of structure than it has shown in the past, a kind of in between stage wines can enter when they are best left alone for a few years. Bid on this 6-liter Imperial of 2010 Silver Oak Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, the signature Sonoma County Cabernet from the iconic family-owned winery founded in 1972 by Ray Duncan and Justin Meyer. Silver Oak is famous for aging its Cabernets exclusively in American oak, and the winery’s own cooperage crafts its barrels. The cool, late-ripening 2010 vintage produced an elegant, balanced Alexander Valley Cabernet with Silver Oak’s hallmark style: black cherry, blackberry and cassis layered with vanilla, dill, coconut, cocoa, sweet baking spice and toasty American oak, with a supple, approachable palate, silky tannins and a long, polished finish, now gracefully mature after more than a decade in large format. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 López de Heredia “Viña Tondonia” Gran Reserva Rosado Rioja (96RP, 95JS, 94DC, 93VN), the legendary aged rosé from Haro’s most traditional bodega. It’s a blend of 60% Garnacho, 30% Tempranillo and 10% Viura from vines averaging 91 years old, fermented with indigenous yeasts in century-old oak vats and aged four years in old American oak. Wine Advocate writes: “There is tons of complexity and nuance here; it’s super elegant and layered, and as the wine sat in the glass, it developed more and more complex aromas, a subtle combination of balsam, red acid berries... fennel and wet chalk... It’s clean and crystalline, fresh and long, with terrific balance and depth. This has to be the finest rosado of recent times. (LG)” (10/2020)

Powerful, dense and exotically ripe – as so many wines are in this vintage – the 2010 dazzles with magnificent intensity. Baritone inflections run through the black cherry, graphite, smoke, tar and licorice flavors. Of the 2010 Elvio Cogno "Ravera" Barolo, Decanter writes: "The highly revered 2010 vintage saw moderate temperatures with marked diurnal differences here, leading to a harvest of ripe, healthy fruit in mid-October. This is also the year Fissore introduced organic practices in his vineyards. Still fresh and youthful, it demonstrates exceptional focus of mint, forest herbs and rose. St-Julien lovers are going to be happy to see how Gloria has developed over the past decade. Cinnamon and black pepper, slivers of olive paste and crushed smoked rosemary. Insider's Advantage
Aultmore is one of those distilleries that kind of pisses me off. The owners do not seem interested in selling the product, even though they have gone out of their way to create a new, posh looking package. There is no visitor center or even a website dedicated to the distillery in any meaningful way. I really enjoy the little Aultmore that makes its way here, and I even really like the distillery bottlings, but they are simply impossible to find. So I am excited to taste this wonderful big butt of Aultmore, which yielded nearly 700 bottles, fewer than 80 of which made it to the US. Aultmore in old sherry barrels can be gorgeous, and I very much enjoy the character of this whisky, so I was glad to see one in this style, especially since the previous Aultmore we had was an absolute sherry monster. Here goes. The color is an inspiring old gold (0.6), and I think we will see more malt than wine here. The nose is soft and subtle, quite elegant, with gentle poached fruit and a bright malt base note. There is a third layer as well, almost like wet clay mixed with dry hay, but it is very subtle and does not protrude beyond the fragrant fruity nose. The palate offers a good medium bodied texture, with sweet malt up front and hints of sherry offering subtle spice and zesty citrus. Throughout, baked apples rather than fresh are clearly the star. With water, it becomes all apples and pear pomace, juicy and delicious. It might be a summer whisky, but it is sunny here so I am loving this. All in all, a very appealing and approachable whisky that will suit any lover of the softer Speyside style who is not after a big sherry note, yet still wants a bit more complexity.

Of the 2010 Siduri "Sierra Mar" Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir, Vinous writes: "Readers will find a wonderfully complete wine in 2010 Pinot Noir Sierra Mar. It is beautifully layered from start to finish, with gorgeous depth in its black fruit, leather, mint, licorice and spices. The Sierra Mar is one of the richer, weightier wines in the Siduri lineup. I am very impressed with the quality of the 2010, just the second crop off this newly developed site in the southern part of the appellation. (AG)" (08/2012)

John Gilman: "Amazingly, the 2010 Clos de la Maréchale had little problems following on the heels of the magical troika of Bonnes-Mares, Amoureuses and Musigny in our sequence of tasting. This is the finest wine to date produced from this lovely vineayrds since Monsieur Mugnier took it back into the family fold, as the wine soars from the glass in a beautiful and vibrant bouquet of red and black cherries, pomegranate, fresh cocoa, a lovely base of soil, a touch of nutskin, vinesmoke and roses. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, pure and very sappy at the core, with striking transparency, beautiful focus and balance and lovely grip on the ripely tannic, elegant and very long finish. A beautiful wine." (11/2011)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2010 Leonetti "Reserve" Walla Walla Valley Bordeaux Blend (OWC - 100RP, 99VN, 95WE, 94ST) in original wood. Wine Advocate: "Even better than the straight Cabernet Sauvignon, with additional richness and texture, yet without any added weight or heaviness, the perfect 2010 Reserve is comprised of 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Franc and 9% Malbec that spent 22 months in new and used French oak. Inky purple in color and gorgeously rich and pure, it slowly gives up notions of smoked black currants, espresso, liquid flower, licorice and graphite that flow to a full-bodied, concentrated, plush and seamless 2010 that is perfectly balanced, has no hard edges and an incredible finish. It's a monumental bottle of wine that will drink well at an early age, yet age effortlessly for two decades or more. (JD)" (06/2013)

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2010 Blankiet "Paradise Hills Vineyard" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (98VN, 97RP). Vinous: "Deep, saturated ruby. Still-brooding aromas of blackcurrant, licorice, graphite, violet, spices and tobacco leaf. Plush, broad, sweet and almost overwhelming on entry, offering uncanny density but with a saline reserve and excellent definition to buffer its deep sweetness. Lovely savory complexity and an impression of precision energize this wine's dark fruit, mineral and spice flavors. Perhaps best today on the extremely long, ripely but firmly tannic, rising back end... By coincidence, I tasted this wine chez moi just after the extraordinary Dominus Estate, which is from Yountville vineyards located just below those owned by Claude Blankiet, and this pair of wines makes clear that this microclimate on the western side of Yountville performed splendidly in 2010. Wine Advocate: "Looking at the 2010s and a brilliant vintage for Laurence, the 2010 Châteauneuf du Pape offers up classic Pegau aromas and flavors of ripe dark fruits, garrigue, cured meats, tobacco leaf, saddle leather and hints of game. Full-bodied and beautifully concentrated, it offers a seamless, layered profile on the palate with thrilling mid-palate depth, sweet, yet substantial tannin, and a blockbuster finish that stays fresh and beautifully focused. Cassis, smoked earth, graphite, lots of damp earth and smoke all emerge from the full-bodied, concentrated, unctuous 2010 that has serious depth and richness, bright acidity, and building tannin. The 2010 Château d’Yquem is an utterly stunning young wine and a very worthy follow-up to the magical wine produced at this estate in 2009. The bouquet is deep, complex and flat out brilliant, as it soars from the glass in a celestial mélange of pineapple, tangerines, a touch of passion fruit, honeycomb, beautifully complex and chalky soil tones, spring flowers and a very gentle touch of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, suave and utterly seamless, with great mid-palate depth, bright acids and surreal length and grip on the dancing and very intensely flavored finish. The 2010 d’Yquem is not quite as ethereally complex at this stage as the hauntingly beautiful 2009, but in terms of sheer quality, it seems likely to be every bit as profound. 98+

Intense aromas of dark-berried fruit, medicinal herbs and violets open the nose of this Roero Riserva. Mouthfilling with cherry preserves, sweet tea, leather and oak spice giving way to supple tannins with a powerful finish. Drink now–2035. (JP)
After the mild and relatively straightforward 2009 vintage, 2010 was a roller coaster. Heavy rainfall in January and February pushed budbreak back by two to three weeks, and additional rains in May disrupted flowering, leading to a lighter crop with varied cluster and berry sizes. Very cool conditions persisted through June and July, with very little summer heat. Some grape growers, concerned by the slow ripening curve, began pulling leaves to expose clusters directly to the sun. This proved to be a costly mistake when a serious heat wave arrived in late August, causing some fruit to suffer from sunburn and raisining. Those who stayed the course with a steady hand were rewarded with a long Indian summer, with temperatures in the upper 80s and low 90s stretching well into September and helping make up for the cool start to the growing season. Overall, the vintage is characterized by intense, dark-fruited wines with serious concentration and a somewhat brooding personality. That vintage character is certainly on display here in the remarkable 2010 Freemark Abbey Napa Cabernet. Darker-fruited than the 2009, with a little more structure, power, and moodiness, this wine shows rich mulberry, cassis, graphite, and crushed rock at its core. Hints of leather and subtle bottle development are beginning to emerge, but in general the wine remains impressively fresh, dense, and youthful as it approaches 15 years of age in bottle. This is a powerful, deeply expressive Napa Cabernet with plenty of life still ahead.
This smells like a bouquet of flowers with blueberries and currants and spices. Full body, yet agile and refined. So fine and pretty. It's balanced and in harmony. Savory. A smoky, decadent and meat undertone.
Bid on this 3-magnum lot of 2010 Azelia Margheria Barolo (1.5L) (96JS, 96VN, 95RP, 95WS). Vinous: The 2010 Barolo Margheria comes across as quite compact at this stage but then again, it is a young Serralunga Barolo. Iron, graphite, smoke and crushed rocks seem to resonate off a core of expressive dark fruit in a muscular, implosive Barolo endowed with tremendous depth and intensity. With time in the glass the wine's inner perfume and sweetness begin to emerge, accompanied by expressive floral and savory notes that add tons of pure appeal. The 2010 is going to require considerable patience, but there is a lot to look forward to. Layers of chalk and limestone inflected minerality support to the building finish. (AG) (01/2014)

Bid on this 2-magnum lot of 2010 Azelia Bricco Fiasco Barolo (1.5L) (97VN, 96RP), from Luigi Scavino’s family estate in Castiglione Falletto, founded in 1920 and still something of a Barolo lover’s secret. Bricco Fiasco is Azelia’s historic cru, a hill the family shares with cousin Enrico Scavino of Paolo Scavino, planted with vines over 65 years old that give naturally low yields and striking concentration. Antonio Galloni of Vinous called the 2010 “incredibly polished in this vintage,” praising its dried roses, crushed berries, tobacco, mint and spice and describing it as both super-classic and seductive. Wine Advocate’s Monica Larner noted its supple, rich finesse and impeccable integration, with dark fruit, licorice, smoke and tar. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Bond "Matriarch" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (93VN, 92JS, 92WS, 91RP). Vinous: "The 2010 Matriarch is quite beautiful in this vintage. Supple and juicy at first, the 2010 has plenty of underlying structure. Rose petals, violets, new leather and a hint of orange peel appear on an exotic, perfumed finish laced with veins if dark red and blue fruits. (AG)" (11/2013)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 Delas Frères "Les Bessards" Hermitage (100JD, 100RP, 96WS, 95VN). Wine Advocate: "The uber-impressive 2010 Hermitage Les Bessards ranks alongside the perfect 2009. The strikingly intense powdered stone/granite minerality is apparent in this wine of great intensity, prodigious, almost skyscraper-like texture, massive body and high tannins. It is only for true connoisseurs who have a cold cellar as well as the patience to wait a minimum of a decade for it to round into drinking form. Filled with potential, it is one of the single greatest Hermitages I have ever tasted. There is no hint of its 100% new oak aging! (JD)" (12/2012)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 Dönnhoff Oberhäuser Brücke Riesling Spätlese (94RP). Wine Advocate: "Green tea, lavender, honeysuckle and framboise distillate penetratingly scent Donnhoff’s 2010 Oberhauser Brucke Riesling Spatlese, their proxies reappearing, along with fresh lime, red raspberry, and drippingly-ripe pear, on a palate of striking purity, refinement, and levity. To an undertone of wet stone in the finish are added site-typical saline, carnal, and brown butter savor. Look for two decades of bewitchment from this beauty. “When I saw the analyses that came back on this year’s Spatlesen, ” notes Donnhoff, "I had them run again because I couldn’t believe we had close to 100 Oechsle even on the least of them." Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Domenico Clerico "Ciabot Mentin" Barolo (95JD, 95VN, 94DC, 94RP, 93WS, 92JS, 91KO, 91WE). Vinous: "Good full red. Liqueur-like plum and black cherry on the nose. Then fine-grained and classy but tightly wound, showing utterly primary flavors of cherry, red berries and menthol. There's no way into this extremely backward wine today. But it has the racy acidity and excellent clarity for a spectacular evolution in bottle. (ST) 95+" (11/2013)
