Vinous
Reviewed October 2023Back after MIA last year, the 2022 Corton Les Combes Grand Cru conveys a sense of energy on the overly floral nose, determined to make an impression. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit. There’s gentle grip with just a hint of sous-bois, leading to a precise and elegant finish. One of the best reds from the Domaine this year.

Jasper Morris
Medium crimson in colour. Trying to pull out more on the nose but it is reticent. However, there is a classy, all red, fruit palate, the alpine strawberries in play, with a discreet tensile strength and fine elegance all the way through.

Decanter
There is a pronounced ripe black plum fruit aroma and hints of earth and spice. The texture is supple and elegant, with a marvellous balance and charm. The grapes are from a parcel of nearly a half hectare in this south-facing climat in the Combe de Pernand, between Les Meix and La Vigne au Saint. The grapes are destemmed and gently fermented on ambient yeasts before ageing in cask (10% new). This wine will begin to open in three to five years. (Drink between 2027-2055)
