The ripe, supple Morey Les Millandes from Domaine Arlaud is restrained and elegant, with a delightful plummy fruit aroma and a suggestion of peppery spice and earth on the initial attack. The texture is supple and moderately dense, with well-managed tannins. The grapes were all destemmed by hand, berry by berry, before fermentation on native yeasts and ageing in barrel, 10%-15% new. This should open fairly soon after release. (Drink between 2030-2040)
