Reviewed November 2025A bright crimson ruby. The bouquet suggests that this is going to be a complex and classy wine. If there is a fractional reduction, it seems to be a positive one. Some lift from the stems which are not obtrusive. The wine has a natural density of fruit on the palate, both sensual and structured, and remarkably long. Just a little sanguine note as well. Fine tannins, a really interesting Clos de la Roche. Three barrels only.

The 2024 Clos-de-la-Roche Grand Cru takes time to open in the glass, more so than Arlaud's other Grand Crus, revealing brambly red berry fruit, white pepper and light tobacco scents. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, a crisp line of acidity, a tingle of spice with decent weight and depth on the finish. Not quite as complex as the previous couple of vintages but this will certainly have ageing potential.
