Notes
At the cool, northwestern end of Anderson Valley, known locally as the “Deep End,” Maggy Hawk’s spectacular estate vineyard sits nestled among towering redwood forests. Persistent Pacific fog and cooling ocean breezes moderate temperatures at this exceptional Pinot Noir-focused site, allowing for a long, slow growing season. Planted in 2000, predominantly to Dijon clones 115 and 667, among others, the vineyard is farmed with an almost maniacal attention to detail. Much of the estate is planted across steep hillsides, with vines rooted in ancient, decomposed sandstone soils. The wines are crafted by the immensely talented Sarah Wuethrich, who honed her skills alongside Anderson Valley icon Wells Guthrie at Copain before joining Maggy Hawk in 2017.
