Notes
Il Bricco draws Nebbiolo from the upper reaches of Bricco di Treiso, where the Pio family began acquiring vineyards in 1974. First bottled separately in 1990, it focuses on a cool, breezy site with steep slopes and clay-rich marl soils. Vinous’s review of the 2021 describes raspberry, rose and sweet spice, followed by substantial acidity and tannin beneath an initially supple texture. Wine Advocate emphasizes the powdery tannins, dark fruit and herbal detail.
