Notes
San Lorenzo lies in Randazzo, on the northwestern side of Etna’s winegrowing zone. Terre Nere’s bottling is made from Nerello Mascalese grown on soils derived from the volcano’s older Ellittico eruptions, with volcanic ash an important component. The 2024’s James Suckling review describes substantial body and a juicy texture, with velvety tannins that still leave a firm, chewy impression. Dried strawberry and smoke frame a savoury finish. The review recommends waiting until after 2028.
