Reviewed August 2024A powerhouse-styled beauty, the 2021 Syrah Block 10 is all varietal that spent 20 months in 65% new French oak, with a year in bottle before release. Ripe blackberries, ground pepper, sappy herbs, violets, and some Cornas-like gamey notes all emerge from this impressive 2021, a rich, full-bodied, concentrated Syrah that has tons of fruit, ripe tannins, and a focused, lengthy style on the finish. It's classic Paso Robles power done with balance and class.

Intense but expertly polished and cohesive aromas of dark fruit, spice and herb make for a very alluring nose on this bottling. The palate is more brooding in mouthfeel and heft, as layers of blueberry and acai cling to firm, sticky tannins and a clay-like minerailty. (MK)
