The "First Flower." If you want the Quintarelli magic without waiting a decade or spending hundreds of dollars, this is your ticket. A blend of Corvina, Corvinone, Cabernet, and Franc, this is the freshest and most immediate wine in the lineup, seeing only a brief period of drying for the Cabernet grapes. It doesn't have the heavy brooding weight of the Amarone or Valpolicella; instead, it jumps out of the glass with high-toned, crunchy red fruit. Every year this is my favorite wine out of my home region.

The 2023 Giuseppe Quintarelli "Primofiore" is the estate's youngest red, serving as a vibrant, accessible introduction to their legendary artisanal style. While most Quintarelli reds age for nearly a decade, the "First Flower" is released early to showcase freshness. The nose is exceptionally floral and energetic, bursting with violets, lavender, and wild strawberries alongside a savory whiff of tangerine and stone dust.
