Reviewed April 2025Winemaker/owner Scott Caraccioli draws complexity for the 2019 Brut Cuvee Escolle Vineyard from a selection of clones grown at his estate vineyard, which add tremendous length and breadth across the palate, blending 60% Chardonnay and 40% Pinot Noir. It has great structure with phenolic ripeness, and layers of salinity and oyster shell mixed with a purity of pear and strawberry. Lengthy and complex, with a hint of richness, it’s gorgeous and will age another 10-15 years. (VB)

The bubbles on this sparkling wine appear silky to the eye, and the nose offers a lightly yeasted aroma that decorates to soft lemon and melon rind elements. The mousse is expertly crafted, somewhere between sea foam and chiffon, offering engagingly tart flavors on the exciting palate. (MK)

The 2019 Brut Cuvée is powerfully, intoxicatingly aromatic. Chardonnay character speaks clearly and confidently, broadcasting compellingly rich, heady scents of ripe yellow plum, apricot, lime zest, chalk and toasted brioche. At once broad and caressing yet driven and propulsive, the 2019 is a wine of superb balance and inner contrasts. This was only disgorged in January 2025, but it’s already expressing itself today. What a compelling American sparkler. Dosage is 6 grams per liter. (BN)

Lemon pastry cream and warm brioche aromas are comforting and fresh. A fine, creamy mousse with vivid acidity on the nicely weighted mid-palate, showing flavors of fresh lemons, green apples, minerals and a final grace note of pastry dough. 60% chardonnay and 40% pinot noir. Drink or hold.
