Reviewed November 2023Just one-quarter of the Lafarge parcel in the Clos des Aigrots is planted to Chardonnay at the top of the hill near the Clos des Mouches, but it produces the top white of the cellar. In 2022, it gave a wine with aromas of green apple and lemon peel with a touch of white flowers and spice. The texture is lively and very fine, with the structure for mid-term ageing. The grapes are pressed as whole clusters and fermented with most of their lees in cask – this is the only cuvée that gets a bit of new wood.(CC)

Burghound
Note: there are only 4 owners that have the right to use the designation Clos in Aigrots. A super-nose features notes of spiced tea, green apple, white peach and a whiff of fennel. The sleek, even glossy, medium weight flavors exude evident minerality on the very dry and youthfully austere finish that exhibits a touch of bitter citrus character. Lovely juice and this is really quite good, indeed even better than usual.

Wine Advocate
The 2022 Beaune 1er Cru Clos des Aigrots Blanc offers up aromas of minty pear, apple, white flowers and almonds. Medium to full-bodied, ample and incisive, with tangy acids and a penetrating finish, this has turned out especially well.
The 2022 vintage was showing well during my annual barrel tasting chez Lafarge, emphasizing the charming, pretty side of the year. The team began picking on August 26, another early harvest. As usual, reds were destemmed, in some cases manually, and élevage is taking place in predominantly used barrels, with the Lafarge's habitual racking with aeration. The result is wines with a resolutely old-school style that have a good track record of evolving gracefully in the cellar.(WK)

Vinous
The 2022 Beaune Blanc Clos des Aigrots 1er Cru is the only white cuvée with some new oak (10%), more to maintain the rotation of barrels. A more floral nose with pressed white flowers and a touch of Turkish delight, this blossoms in the glass. The palate is very well-balanced with a keen thread of acidity. Unlike the Meursaults, however, it doesn't quite kick on towards the finish, where it feels a little conservative.(NM)
Notes
Bill Nanson Burgundy Report: "1 barrel vs 6 in 2022 More direct aromas – directing you to drink! Broad, shimmering with minerality – there’s citrus in there but never too overt. Quite mouth-filling at the end. A simply beautiful wine that I can’t decide whether I want (need!) to drink now or wait – it’s a dilemma!"(09/2024)
