The 2016 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Hameau de Blagny has a crisp, quite vibrant, mineral-driven bouquet that unfolds nicely in the glass. The palate is tensile and focused, very strict and linear with notes of green apple, cold stone and a touch of spice toward the blackcurrant and leaf-tinged finish. There is something forthright about this sample, and there is impressive sustain on the aftertaste. One to watch. (NM)
