From the ripe and generous 2007 vintage, this Ronchi di Cialla Refosco offers a fascinating look at a mature, traditionally made red from a warm year. Now at 18 years of age, the wine has beautifully integrated the vintage’s power with savory, tertiary complexity. The nose is rich and inviting, with aromas of baked plum and black cherry, layered with notes of sweet leather, licorice, and a hint of balsamic. On the palate, it’s medium-to-full-bodied and supple, with the once-firm tannins now resolved into a smooth, polished texture. A vibrant acidity provides balance, leading to a long and warming, yet savory finish. A powerful, mature Refosco drinking perfectly now.
