Old Forester "Barrel Strength" K&L Exclusive (Warehouse J, Floor 1) Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whisky (750ml)

This gorgeous barrel of Old Forester was selected by our tasting team in Spring of 2025. The experience at the little distillery on Main Street in Louisville is one of the best tasting experiences in the industry. Held in their climate controlled warehouse on a platform with barrels adorning the walls around you, here they drill the barrels which is always fun to watch, but without the heat of the late Spring its a much more comfortable environment than most. We honed in on these two barrels almost instantly, contrasting styles. This one, aged on the 1st floor, has tons of sweet corning goodness. Let's try it. The color is a fab chestnut (1.2). The nose is full of sweet cooked stone fruit, rich nutty oak with a huge baking spice note. On the palate the sweet cream corn, sugar candies, cinnamon candy which builds on the finish. I love this sweet up front and spicy in the back. I'm not saying this is the mullet of single barrels, but it's all business up front and party in the back. A very delicious juicy barrel.
