A beautiful dry white with stacks of ripe pear and yellow apple aromas plus hints of honeycomb and honeysuckle. Spot-on balance of restrained ripeness and spring-like freshness on the juicy palate. Just a touch of tannin deftly supports the clean, long finish. A cuvee of 70% auxerrois and 30% pinot blanc. From organically grown grapes. Drink now. Screw cap.

Based on about 70% Auxerrois and 30% Pinot Blanc from purchased grapes from all over Alsace and fermented in stainless steel, Trimbach's 2022 Pinot Blanc shows perfectly ripe and elegant fruit on the intensely aromatic yet also coolish nose. Lush and lively on the palate, this wine has a ripe and intense fruit core and is kept in tension by ripe, typical Alsatian acidity. The finish is quite intense and stimulating grippy, which makes it an easy-drinking but serious wine for many occasions. 200,000 bottles produced. 13% stated alcohol. Screw-cap closure. Tasted at the domaine in April 2024. We published reviews of 18 vintages of the iconic Riesling Clos Sainte Hune in one of the last issues, including the latest from 2019, which has been cultivated in the grand cru Rosacker for 100 years. Beyond that, and as always, I tasted a pretty wide range from vintages here in spring and in late autumn last year. All the crus, whether grand cru or not, are of superb quality. The 2020 Gewürztraminer Muehlforst is a Best Buy; the 2020 Pinot Gris Grand Cru Osterberg is one of the finest Pinot Gris I tasted in Alsace last year; and the Riesling cuvée Frédéric Emile, no matter if the 2018 or 2019, should be seriously considered as a wine to purchase.(SR)

The 2022 Pinot Blanc is a blend of 70% Auxerrois and 30% Pinot Blanc and is made from both estate and bought fruit, including from 70+-year-old Pinot Blanc from the grand cru Altenberg de Bergheim that helps express freshness. The nose is bright and alive with juicy, freshly cut green pear. The palate is crunchy but full of fruit in a slender package, with just a touch of pepper on the finish. (Bone-Dry)(AK)

Floral notes lace this dry white, with a stony underpinning carrying the broad palate of white peach and candied lemon with a clean-cut, fresh finish. (AZ)
