The 2023 Riesling Heiligenstein is picked in the four lower terraces of the site, whole-bunch pressed and made in stainless steel. The most perfumed touch of conifer reaches the nose first, almost with a juniper lift, gentle but nonetheless sinus-clearing. The palate is gentler, with lovely stone fruit, referencing ripe apricot skin on a stony palate, full of juiciness and quiet intensity, understated, slow-burning and long with tart, ripe, aromatic citrus.
