Reviewed August 2024Very succulent but every bit as elegant, with a fantastic creamy texture and a wet-stone freshness that makes this extremely enticing. The white flower and green apple aromas only add to that, and the delicacy at the end is fantastic. Very long and subtle finish. Drink or hold.

The 2023 Riesling Wehlener Sonnenuhr Spätlese teases with ripe Amalfi lemon peel and summer breezes scented with lemon, carrying the promise of apricot and peach. The palate delivers wonderfully lemon-laced peach compote, utterly aromatic, vividly fruity yet absolutely clear and stony. Lemon peel gives this a wonderful contour and precision. (Medium)(AK)

It offers a rather shy nose of apricot, fresh pineapple, cream, mirabelle, earthy spices, and smoke. The wine is smooth and juicy on the palate and leaves a direct feel of ripe fruits, minerals, and spices in the playful finish. 2033-2043."
