2021 Can Descregut Brut Nature Corpinnat (Cava)

Grower-producer Spanish sparkling wine is slowly getting the attention it deserves, considering the high quality levels and ridiculously inexpensive price tags to be found. One of the ways certain producers are calling attention to their quality is with the creation of Corpinnat. For a sparkling wine to be called Corpinna,t it must be made from 100% organically grown grapes from the Penedès region near Barcelona. Can Descregut is a family-run estate whose owners, more than a decade ago, made the switch from bulk wine production to focus on organic growing practices and smaller yields. Made from a blend of classic varietals from the region: Xarello, Macebeu, and Parellada. It is finished with 0 dosage and aged on its lees for a minimum of 18 months, for a crisp wine with toasty aromas and flavors.
