Reviewed September 2024Grenache from a selection of old vine sources across the Barossa. 25% whole clusters open this wine up beautifully. It's slightly more loose-knit than the stellar 2021 release but my word it's lovely drinking. Pure, crunchy red fruits, plenty of spice and ginger, cola and pressed wildflower nuance. Detailed and airy on the palate with compact, sandy tannins, bright acidity and plenty of energy as it trails off.

This is good grenache, capturing the contemporary zeitgeist of crunchy red fruits melded to a raft of salty, gritty, thirst-slaking tannins, refined, impressive and strident. Full-bodied. Kirsch, clove and rosewater, just a little sweet of fruit and oak, feeling a bit torrefied. A work in progress, but a very good one. Drink or hold
