The 2020 Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru is very intense on the nose, a mixture of red and blueber fruit, just a faint touch of peppermint. Plenty of energy here. The palate is medium-bodied with chiselled tannins, perfectly judged acidity, quite saline in the mouth with a mineral-driven finish that expands wonderfully. There is an abiding sense of completeness here. Outstanding.(NM)

The 2020 Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru is striking, soaring from the glass with aromas of cherries, sweet berries, rose petals, Egyptian musk, orange rind and spices. Full-bodied, layered and concentrated, it's a multidimensional, textural wine that's deep and seamless, with lively acids and a long, penetrating finish.(WK)

Note: from a .38 ha parcel in En Gémeaux. An elegant, pure, ripe and airy nose reflects notes of dark cherry, spiced plum, cassis and just turned earth. There is excellent size, weight and mid-palate density to the medium weight plus flavors that possess a bit more verve on the mouth coating, balanced, complex and impressively long finish. Like the Ech, here too there is outstanding development potential.*Burghound Don't Miss!*

Much more backward with a deeper dark purple colour. A light chocolate inflection along with the dark fruit on the nose. Very backward again on the palate, with a savoury character. The wines are very full this year but with less sucrosity than 2019 and less ethereal in their bouquets.
