Reviewed April 2025The 2023 Vermentino di Gallura entices with a savory blend of crushed stones and white smoke, giving way to wildflowers and lemon-laced green apples. This is mineral and saline in character, displaying lovely weight and energy. The 2023 leaves the palate reeling with tension as hints of young kiwi and a sour citrus resonance fade. Even though it's lovely today, the 2023 should be even better with another year or two in the cellar. 92+ (EG)

Vermentino di Gallura is the only DOCG in Sardinia, known for producing some of Italy’s finest Vermentino wines. Piero Mancini, a respected winemaker in the region, crafts a beautifully fresh and mineral-driven expression of this indigenous grape. The vineyards are located in the Gallura region in northern Sardinia, where the granite-rich soils and Mediterranean breezes contribute to the wine’s distinctive character.
