Reviewed January 2024Fine fresh lemon yellow. A little yellow fruit but with energy. More orchard fruit than plums in fact, with a light citrus wash. Attractively balanced, with a fine thread of acidity running through the middle. A little lime to finish. Drink from 2027-2035.

Take it home. Or give it a cellar.

Burghound
This is aromatically quite similar to the Vergers but with more floral elements. The super-sleek and beautifully refined medium weight flavors flash plenty of minerality on the beautifully delineated, clean, dry and sneaky long finish. This should age gracefully plus doing so should help to add depth - one to think about for mid-term cellaring.*Burghound Outstanding!*

Vinous
The 2022 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Chenevottes 1er Cru is matured in one-third new oak. There's a bit more reduction at play here, though that does preclude the fruit intensity underneath. The palate is medium-bodied with a softer texture than Colin's other cuvées, red apple mixed with peach skin and orange pith, just a little oaky on the finish at the moment. I prefer the Les Vergers this year.(NM)
Notes
Bill Nanson Burgundy Report: "Also vibrant and wide but with extra floral notes. Ooh – there’s tension and dynamic energy again. Juicy, intense, great wine – I feel the oak a little more so I’d wait 2-3 years – but great." (01/2024)
