Reviewed March 2023I love the extrovert wealth of orange aromas ranging from blossoms to zest and candied peel. Wonderful balance of fruit, fine tannins and enough acidity to keep this lively. Wonderful creamy texture at the long supple finish. Drink or hold.

The 2019 Gewurztraminer Classic is made from half of bought-in grapes from Riquewihr and Pfaffenheim and estate fruit from the Sporen Grand Cru. Classic Damask rose and lychee notes make up the fragrant nose; orange zest and honeysuckle soon join in. The palate allows both orange fruit and zest to come to the fore, walking a lovely tightrope between textural zestiness and sweetness. Its 15g/L of sweetness is countered by citrus pith bitterness. The finish is long and aromatic. (Off-dry) (AK)
