Showing the impeccable class and intensity this cru is celebrated for, it’s youthfully austere but also incredibly savory. The firmly structured palate delivers ripe red cherry, raspberry compote, licorice, almond liqueur and saline mineral notes accompanied by a firm backbone of tightly-woven, close-grained tannins. Bright acidity gives it great aging potential.

This wine knocks it out of the park. The beautiful Produttori del Barbaresco 2019 Barbaresco Riserva Montefico delivers a lovely combination of perfectly ripened fruit, spice and etched mineral. Those qualities transfer to the palate, where the wine shows elegantly chalky tannins. It finishes with power and concentration that is attractive but never overboard. Encompassing 4 hectares, this vineyard's limestone-rich soils and cooler microclimate produce structured wines with intense depth and precision . Aged for 36 months in large oak barrels, followed by further bottle aging, the wine reveals a deep garnet color with aromas of black cherries, iron, and dried herbs.
