Reviewed March 2024The 2022 Crozes-Hermitage Cuvée Christophe Blanc is based on 85% Marsanne and 15% Roussanne and was brought up in barrel (30% new). It’s a brilliant wine revealing crushed citrus and fresh quince fruit that gives way to more spice and savory herb notes, and it has beautifully integrated oak in the background. It's balanced and medium-bodied, with a pure, focused mouthfeel and a great finish, and it has a kiss of Hermitage Blanc-like class.

Decanter
Tobacco and cedar oak on the nose, then inlaid into the palate. Good acidity helps to bring balance with the alcohol, and it ends on cinnamon and nutmeg spice. A bombastic white Crozes with big impact and flavour thanks, in part, to its 30% new oak. (MW)

Vinous
The 2022 Crozes-Hermitage Blanc Cuvée Christophe blends 85% Marsanne with 15% Roussanne from up to 60-year-old vines. Using roughly 40% new oak barriques during seven months of maturation, it exhales bright vanilla, cedar, spring blossom, yellow apple and white peach. Soft acidity neatly balances this fruit-forward 2022, ending with a sapid finish. (NG)
Notes
Domaine des Remizières are 4th generation winemakers that originally sold grapes to the local cooperative. After completing their winery in 1974, the family began production at their new property. The estate is now managed by Phillipe Desmeures, his daughter Emilie, and son Christophe. They have expanded to 30 ha with vineyards in Crozes-Hermitage, Saint-Joseph, and Hermitage. The Cuvée Christophe is a blend of 85% Marsanne and 15% Roussanne aged in a mix of new and used barrique. It captures the essence of rich, full-bodied whites from the region.
