Celler de l’Encastell is a small family run project that is located in the village of Porrera, in the heart of Priorat. Castellví Figuerola family started the project in 1999, sourcing all of their fruit from 3 vineyards with a total of only 6 ha. These vineyards are located around the village of Porrera with ideal expositions all with llicorella slate soils. The wine making is simple, their goal is to let fruit and the vineyards shine, not their winemaking. 92 points Miquel Hudin : Rather dark fruited with dark cherry and plum as well as some minor fig and dried blackberry notes, menthol and black tea. Chewy and larger fruit on the palate, overall maintains freshness but definitely in a riper style."
