The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Bruadair Vineyard is utterly brilliant and unquestionably in the running for the best Napa Cabernet Sauvignon around the $100 price point. It sports a deep purple hue as well as a gorgeous perfume of pure crème de cassis, forest floor, leafy herbs, tobacco leaf, and violets, with perfectly integrated background oak. With a deep, layered, multi-dimensional mouthfeel, medium to full body, perfect balance, and ultra-fine tannins, this remarkable, seamless, just about magical Mount Veeder Cabernet benefits from a decant and will evolve for 25+ years. It's even better than the 2018 and 2017, so hats off to this estate.

Attractive aromas of ripe blackcurrants and blackberries with sea shell, crushed walnuts, sweet spices, chocolate, lead pencil and cedar. So much tension and persistence here with a full body and compact, finely grained tannins. It just keeps building up on the palate with delicious fruit and beautiful tannins. So long and deep. 83% Cabernet Sauvignon and 17% Malbec. Try from 2026.

Packs serious punch and drive, with vivid boysenberry and mulberry fruit laced liberally with hibiscus and iris notes, all carried by a racy bolt of iron. Sleek and focused, with an anise note amid the lingering fruit. A modern-styled Mount Veeder Cabernet. Best from 2025 through 2038. (JM)

Short Version: This is a stunningly powerful, mountain-grown Cabernet that sits with the very best wines coming out of Napa at ANY price point. It clearly has the structure to age 30 years, but also has tons of up-front generosity and bold fruit that makes it approachable in it's youth if you enjoy big, powerful wines with a lot of intensity. I love how this wine shows the natural exuberance the 2019 vintage gave, but at the same time stays so true to its Mount Veeder roots with those signature briary elements of mountain chaparral, tobacco, cedar, dusty mineral qualities. If you collect the best-of-the best Napa Cabs, get on board with Evidence wines before the prices skyrocket. These are the real deal! Long Version: Offering this wine right now has such a interesting link to how this wine ever came to be in the first place. The current labor strife and on-going strikes within the film industry are not a new phenomenon. 20 years ago similar strikes in 2002 prompted Jason Court to take a break from his behind the scenes work in Hollywood studios and re-connect with an old friend from college days who had become a renowned winemaker in Napa Valley. Jason was so powerfully moved by his time working that impromptu harvest that he never left! That old college friend happened to be Chris Carpenter, the legendary winemaker of Cardinale, Lokoya, La Jota fame. So needless to say the Evidence wines bear close resemblance to the powerhouse mountain wines crafted by the esteemed properties listed above. Jason is a real breath of fresh air in the valley that can sometimes feel quite cooperate and elite. He's personable, humble and hugely grateful for the opportunities that have been afforded to him over the years. I'm very excited to be working with him and his wines and can't wait to see what the future holds for these incredibly compelling wines.

I was excited to see this come in! Delicious, mind-blowing Cab at an incredible price! Rich, full-bodied, and complex with notes of black currant, espresso, sweet tobacco, baking spices, and purple flowers. I had tried the 2017 about a year ago and had enjoyed it immensely, but I love this vintage even more.

It's a bit of a unicorn to see this kind of acclaim for a hand-crafted Mt. Veeder Cab at this kind of price, so count me in as more-than curious. Intense aromas are full of cedar, gravel, blackberries, and fine french oak. On the palate, there is a liveliness and freshness to it, with brighter red fruits at the core, a lingering note of cherry skins and a long, mouthwatering finish. Make no mistake, it is a rich and mouthcoating wine for sure, but there is a lot going on. A complete and flat-out delicious Cab, it is all too easy to recommend this to even the most discerning collector of Napa's great reds. Considering the limited production, it is one to get in on early.

Notes

From a steep, hillside block at 1,600ft elevation on Mt. Veeder. This small vineyard is meticulously farmed by Mariano Navarro Jr. a renowned viticulturalist who farmed Verite, Anakota, Lokoya and Cardinale vineyards for decades before starting his own, independent vineyard management company. The 2019 Evidence "Brudair Vineyard" bottling is composed of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon and 14% Malbec. The wine aged in 70% new French oak exclusively from Seguin-Moreau Cooperage. Just 338 cases were made.
