2021 Allram "Ried Gaisberg" Riesling Kamptal

The Zöbinger Gaisberg is the coolest part of the Gaisberg. The soil of the southwest-facing site consists predominantly of lime-free silicate brown earth of sandy, somewhat silty consistency with a clear Grus and stone content. This soil originates from the weathered mica schists in the subsoil, which are locally interrupted by amphibolite islands, and in addition to possible loess residues, can also provide some lime content in the soil. Allram's Zöbingen 2021 Ried Gaisberg 1ÖTW Riesling shows a wonderfully purist, stony nose of white stone fruit and broken primary rock with notes of iodine. In the mouth, this Riesling is juicy and aromatic, showing fine terroir spice with lively mineral acidity as well as great grip on the stimulating saline finish. It's a great, still very young but promising Gaisberg Riesling. (SR)
