This incredible champagne was one of the most profound discoveries of my 2022 spring trip to the region. Very little chardonnay is planted in the village of Troissy, in the center of the Marne Valley, as this area is always under risk for spring frost, which this variety is very sensitive to, but what a great 100% chardonnay champagne this is! I love the combination of clean brioche and subtle white flowers, the fabulous texture and the vibrant finish. This wine needed time and got it- 8 years of ageing on the lees! The price is mind boggling for the quality, even for one of our direct imports. I wrote in my notebook at the time "THE FIND" and after tasting it again last night, I should have written it twice!

Opulent and full bodied Champagne with lovely rich notes of lemon curd, toasted hazelnut and marzipan notes on the nose and on the palate. It finishes bright thanks to a healthy amount of acidity and has long supple finish. Great aperitif Champagne and would match scallops and lobster dishes as well.

A seductively rich and umami-laden Blanc de Blancs, beckoning to fans of the White Burgundy. Underpinned with beautiful salinity, this offers juicy stone fruit, mandarin orange, with snappy yellow apple and a small kick of that classic toasty brioche. A unique and delicious Blanc de Blancs.
Notes
This 100% estate grown champagne comes from estate vines in Troissy in the valley of the Marne. It is one of our richest blanc de blancs, with an incredible Meursault like character. It has been aged for an incredible eight years on the lees. -Gary Westby, K&L
