This little Côtes du Rhône offers an impressive amount of wine for the price. Dark berry fruit leads the way, with notes of blackberry and currant jam, followed by a subtle spice element and that classic Grenache hint of tobacco. Old vines shine through here, bringing depth, warmth, and a satisfying sense of concentration.

Notes

Domaine Benedetti was founded in 1930 when Nicolas Benedetti emigrated from Italy to Châteauneuf-du-Pape and purchased land in his new region. Nicolas was followed by his son Noel and Noel's son, Christian. Christian was the first owner of the estate to stop selling wine to the cooperative and began bottling and selling his own wines. In 2000, the Domaine transitioned to organic farming and over these years has slowly expanded their holdings from just over a hectare each of Châteauneuf and Cote du Rhone, to 4 hectares of CDP and 10 hectares of Cotes du Rhone vineyards. In 2004, Christian's son, Nicolas, joined the domaine after studying oenology and is now overseeing all the winemaking. And finally, in 2021, we struck up a relationship with the Domaine and happily added them to our Direct Import portfolio.
