Producer's Notes: "Lonohana Estate Chocolate was founded because of two families’ desire to farm cacao and make chocolate on O’ahu, Hawaii. Rarely is chocolate made by the same people who also grow the cacao. Our goal is to share how this cherished food can be honestly and peacefully grown and hand-crafted by a unique type of chocolate company, in complete transparency. Hawaii is known for its picturesque foliage, perhaps most notably the beautiful hibiscus flower. However, not all hibiscus is edible, so we’ve taken the only edible variety, the Roselle, and combined it with our signature Hawaii-grown 50% dark milk chocolate for a tangy and sweet bar. In this bar we use locally grown hibiscus to create a unique flavor combination and special taste of Hawaii for all to enjoy. The earthiness of the hibiscus accentuates the bold, dark cocoa flavors in our Hawaii-grown chocolate.
