Reviewed June 2018This is still ageing in barrel and the oak is evident, but all the elements are there for what is clearly going to be a good wine. It has a rich black fruit structure with some dark spice, rosemary notes and bracing tannins, Good quality, with a clear future ahead of it. (JA)

A tight, linear red with fine tannins and acidity in check. Medium body. Crisp and creamy. Attractive finish.

The 2017 La Tour de By offers fresh red and black fruit on the nose that for me is well defined and is much more representative of Bordeaux than the Cuvée d’Exception. The palate is medium-bodied with vibrant red berry fruit laced with red cherry and orange rind, nicely proportioned with an open and nicely detailed finish. (NM)
