Reviewed July 2019There is a sharply mineral focus to the nose of this bottling, which shows aromas of wet gravel alongside lemon peel, lemon blossoms and a touch of ripe nectarine. It's very grippy on the palate, where chalky texture and flavors unveil lemon pith, river water and kumquat flavors. (MK)

The 2017 Chardonnay Bald Mountain Vineyard comes from 27-year-old vines planted at 920-1,050 feet. Grapes were harvested September 20 and it aged in 20% new French oak. The nose opens with scents of apple tarte tatin, dried mushroom, crushed shell and hazelnuts with notes of spring honey, lemon pith and cream. The palate is medium to full-bodied, rounded, creamy and savory with bright, salty freshness and a long finish. (EB)
