Moving to the reds, the 2016 Pinot Noir The Coast is drinking beautifully today and offers a complex bouquet of mint laced black cherries, clove, and cinnamon as well as some classic California conifer tree notes. Medium to full-bodied, with outstanding purity of fruit and great balance.

Wine Spectator

Zesty, featuring crunchy acidity that backs the macerated cherry and raspberry flavors. Forest floor notes and hints of hot stone emerge on the spicy finish. (KM, Web-2020)

Notes

Boars’ View sits on a windswept ridge in the West Sonoma Coast / Fort Ross–Seaview region, where exposed ridgelines, marine-influenced climate, and well-drained soils sculpt Pinot Noir with freshness, minerality, and coastal intensity. The 2016 “The Coast” delivers that terroir in spades — dark cherry and plum fruit is lifted by forest-floor earthiness and a whisper of coastal herbaceousness, while clove, cinnamon, and a hint of mint add complexity and lift. Medium-bodied and impeccably balanced, the wine marries concentration with finesse, offering a precise, site-driven expression that showcases the unique character of Boars’ View’s coastal slopes.
